Great cartridge and beautiful rifle. A friend of mine received a model 700 in 6MM Rem as part of the proceeds from selling a horse. Neither of us had much experience with the cartridge, but it has proved to be a great choice for pronghorn.

Thanks for your comments! 6mm Remington is one of those older and unappreciated cartridges. Once you've owned a rifle in this caliber, then you know how great it truly is.

My Brno shoots 55gr well under an inch 5 shot groups....but although i think it performs better on game ..i use mainly 50gr Speer or Hornaday Sako and Sierra...and it just works like lightning...i have shot 45 and 40gr to...same storie....

You have great rifles in one of my favourite Caliber. I shoot although two 222. Voere Titan Menor (Singleloader with matchbarrel) for competition (Europe) and one light Browning A-Bolt for Hunting. I shoot my smallest group (5) ever with the Voere (52gr hpbt) . Nearly the former Worldrecord with 222. In the future I think, I change the a-bolt-barrel to a 8 or 10" twist barrel for heavier bullets. Greetings and good shooting.

This is the caliber I would take if forced into having only one! 6 grains of bullseye gets you 900fps, just like the old police load, and if you want more power and range you can drop in 13 to 14 grains of H110 or just 9 grains of blue dot. Of course you can load way hotter than this but why? If you are out in the desert practicing your shots out to 200 yards (doable!) then this mid range load will train you for the main event. Its really a reloaded cartridge, buying factory ammo is just too costly, but when you get the hang of it, reloading gives you unlimited ammo for life! The 41 is accurate, penetates deeply and drops not too much over 200 yards, just poke your front sight up a notch! It truly is Americas best handgun round and in a lever rifle will surge past 2000 fps. Makes more powerful handguns like the 500s/w magnum something you sell or leave in your safe, once you feel the power and accuracy and lack of harsh recoil, you will take your 41 out, leaving even the great 44 mag in the dust. In 2 months of practice you will be hitting small target with this handgun, since it has everything a good long range handgun needs to be your favorite, easy to load, easy recoil, brass lasts a long time, even the revolvers chambered in it are thicker in all the right places since the bullet is just .41, thats alot of metal to contain that round, so it lasts longer too! But not everyone is a reloader, so I get why they arent so popular. But try one on the range, compare the time and cost of running a 454 or a 44 to your 41, anyone who fires a 41 usually falls in love with them after 1 full clyinder! When I fired a 44 mag, all it took was 1 shot to reclaim my 41 from my buddies hands, the hell with all that muzzle blast and fractured wrist bones!

Varmint rifles indeed. I bet the shorter weight rifle would be fantastic for a walk around gun to go on pasture patrol for woodchucks, or out West for rockchucks. A prairie dog setup would fit the bench rest rifle better, I think. Other than it being a single shot, no magazine type action, of course. They’re both beautiful rifles. That's almost correct..... the parent cartridge for the wssm's is the 300 wsm. And the parent case for the 300 wsm is thought to be the 404. Just thought I'd help you out on that a bit.

Good video . I hear the 25-06 Remington is really fine for whitetail. How is it that the .244 falls prey to the .243 over the rate of twist. The 6mm and the 25-06 are overlooked and both are better on whitetail the 243. The 243 is loved by many. All that really matters is bullet construction and shot placement. Oh yeah , don't forget rate of twist.

I never realized the 244 abd 6mm were the same. I have a model 600 in 243. All original accept for a Jard trigger set down to 1 1/4 pounds. I load 90, 70, and 55 grain ballistic tips for it along with 60 grain Seirra HPs. It’s an excellent little lightweight predator walking rifle.

Thanks for the comments! The 243 is a great cartridge too, sounds like a nice setup with that trigger. The 55gr must be sizzling.

in my 26” barrel handloads are around 4250 fps! In the 22” barrel they around a 100 fps slower. It’s a coyote lazer. Flatter than a 22-250 with 40 grain loads.

The gun turned out awesome. I have a couple of big brothers in the 404 Jeffrey cases. A 300 and 375 RUM. Their era at least lasted a few years more than the super short mags.

If they would’ve been smart enough to produce that caliber with a faster twist, it probably would still be around and they would call it an ARC. lol

Hi Does anyone have any info for Voere 2165 bolt disassembly . I have that rifle and kind of not certain whether I might damage it trying. No manual point how to do it. It would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your question. I have never disassembled the bolt on this rifle, I've had issues with the bolt shroud in the past so just left this one alone.

you'd think with the .257 Roberts having taken every known specie of African large game you wouldn't need to put a bigger pill on it, but wildcatters always have a way of proving more can indeed be more. beautiful rifle, too.

Thanks for your comments! There seems to be an overabundance of variations, some might argue too many, but I think it keeps it interesting.

@@thecalibercorner9614 amen to that, but as they say, variety is the spice of life. my inner gunsmith says to keep it simple but it's just too damned interesting to see things develop and what they turn into.

Your wife is an amazing woodworker. If she willing to make custom stocks, I just bought a 17 Mach two rifle myself and I don’t like the stock that came with it.
