Wow. Hadn’t heard of the .22 Creedmoor. With that velocity and 75 grains it’s producing around 1,900 ft lbs. at the muzzle. And the rifle is just extraordinary looking and combined with the cartridge, seems frighteningly accurate. Enjoying all of your videos, subscribed and look forward to more!

Thanks for your comments! There are a lot of pretty unusual, and fantastic cartridges out there for sure, and the 22 Creedmoor is one of them. Thanks for subscribing! Stay tuned, I'll have another video up in a couple of weeks with another very unusual and rare cartridge.

Great video, very well done. That's almost 2000 ft/lbs of energy at the muzzle! With a good long pill, that's good medicine. Thank you and take care till next time.

Very nice 👍. I'm seriously thinking about a 22 creedmoor. I think it's a great cartridge and I'm thinking about building one with a 8 twist for hunting and Target. I mostly want to shoot the middleweight bullets. Thank you

Like you I am old school. Gave Fajen and Bishop some business in the seventies and eighties. Now I have do the laminate thing with Richards and Boyds. I have always been a slow twist high velocity fan. I liked the 244 better than the 243 because of the twist. When I could not find a Rem. 722 I built one on a Mauser action. I have a 6mm-06 257 Wea. 25-06 all 12 twist. My 22 CHeetah is 16. I know if I tryed 1000 yrds I might start tumbling. But I built these for hunting varmints and deer at 500. I am at the age where I don't buy green bananas so I load full steam and don't worry about barrel life. I like the sound a crow makes when it explodes and the instant kills on coyotes and deer. I would like to see how my pre-64 model 70 30-06 shoots on 1000 yd. gongs.

Yes, I used to drool over the Fajen stocks years ago. I had a 257 Weatherby that I let go....I don't know why! I also had a Ruger 77 in 220 Swift that I used to decorate page wire fences, like tinsel on a tree with what was left of the groundhogs. I'd rather use high velocity on the varmints for a quick dispatch - no suffering. Your 22 Cheetah sounds very interesting! Thanks for watching and your comments!

@@thecalibercorner9614 My second rifle purchase after turning 18 was a Ruger varmeter 220. Put a 20x Redfield 6400 on it and zeroed it three inches high at a 100. Was driving down a fenceline and spotted a crow in the next fenceline 440yds away. When I stopped my hunting buddy said "You can't hit a crow that far. I aimed at the top of his head and he rolled out. My buddy bought a swift the next week.

How do the ballistics of the 22 Creedmoor compare to that of a .223? Little bit faster, can it shoot farther? What is the range of the 22 Creedmoor? What types of applications would it be used for? Medium sized varmint? Can this round punch through armor? What does the bullet look like outside of the brass? Also can we see it fired from the rifle?

Thanks for the questions. When loaded with a 55gr bullet, the 22 Creedmoor produces 600-700fps more muzzle velocity than the 223. The beauty of the 22 Creedmoor is that it was designed to shoot long and heavy for caliber, high BC bullets which allows it more wind resistance. It can be loaded with 95gr bullets that produce velocities of just over 3,000fps. I currently load 75gr ELDs at 3,400fps. It is a low-recoil, flat shooting, accurate up to 800 yards. It is definitely rated for medium size varmint and shines in precision rifle. Not sure about punching through armor, but I used to have a 220 Swift (comparable to 22 Creed) and it would punch through 1/2" plate steel. Sorry I forgot to include a bullet by itself, but if it helps, the case is 1.910", the 75gr ELD is 1.116" and the overall length of the cartridge is 2.630". It's hard to see, but there are bullets pictured in the thumbnail. I hope to post videos in the future showing some of the rifles featured in my videos, being fired. Thanks for your interest!

What is the barrel lifetime measured by the number of shots?

    • @thecalibercorner9614

Thanks for your question! I haven't had this rifle long enough to put that many rounds through it yet. Barrel life depends on several factors though, such as type of barrel, size of bullets, allowing the barrel to overheat etc. For instance I could load a 55gr bullet so that it's muzzle velocity is 4,100fps - if that's all I shoot, the barrel won't last as long. I shoot 75gr bullets and possibly heavier, which reduces the velocity and extends the life of the barrel. I also have a very heavy stainless barrel and don't overheat it. I have read some accounts of 22CM shooters who have 1,300 rounds through their barrels and still going strong because they take the above precautions.
