After what happened to Mary Cain and learning about Salazar, I was concerned for her health if she joined Nike. Their style is nice but there shoes caused me injuries (other things contributed). I’m curious to learn why you’re tired of Nike?
During a NB Boston meet Mark was able to get Valby a Arc trainer in a “secret” location. This started their relationship. The family has roots in Connecticut and New England was a better fit than Oregon. Not to mention the sketchy history Nike teams have!! Treatment of Mary Cain and Burrito beauty. Her father negotiated the contract which most likely included her continued cross training.
I’m interested to see if replacing running with some cross-training can be a successful training regimen at the global elite level. Clearly achieving one’s best running efficiency requires running, but how much? She’s obviously a runner with great potential. And totally respect her confidence and guts to front run. In the Olympic Trials 5K, however, St Pierre, Cranny and Schweizer passed her quickly at go time. It will be interesting to see how Coogan will work to increase her closing speed. At the global elite level closing speed is essential to succeed. I wish her the best of luck, and I do think she will achieve great things
Let's see how the pro level treats her. She has a good ways to go to catch any of the world level athletes in any of her races distances. Only wishing good luck and hoping this isn't just hype. PS Without the ZoomX foam, she might likely get injured. NB doesn't have the foams that Nike has.
Parker Valby going pro with New Balance is huge! Umm? i mean? Not only does it cement her as a top talent, but it also sets the stage for a new era in running i meant to say. This deal isn’t just about one athlete-it’s about inspiring future stars and shifting the game i mean. God-Bless Her What a doll. 🏃♀🔥 #ParkerValby #NewBalance #ProRunner #GameChanger #RunningFuture
I can't wait to see Parker ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. New Balance is still a private company, but if they ever decide to go public, it could happen. Whatever happens with New Balance and everyone Valby, I wish them good fortune! DISCLAIMER: This statement is pure speculation, and should not be considered investment advice. "I bought the New Balance 1080 because of the '1080' in the name. " - said no runner ever. New Balance changes the name of the 1080 to the New Balance ILR-VSE (I Love Running - Valby Signature Edition)... "I bought the New Balance 'Valby trainers' because it's endorsed by Parker Valby." - said some runners. New Balance sells more trainers. So simple. Duh. I'm fussy, but I'd even try out a new pair of NB trainers if they had Valby's name on them. I'm not a woman, either.
The Africans have been putting in Incredible amounts of fast distance training for decades now. It will be a big break to see someone find a lower impact method to get to the top of the international professional distance ranks.
I don't know why we don't have more ash running tracks (or "cinder" if you're American). These are the types of running tracks everyone was using over a hundred years ago. Running gives you injuries and ash is much softer. I know when it comes to racing everyone wants to see the fast times and the more modern surfaces of track are faster, but for training softer surfaces just make more sense. As for running 6 or 7 days per week, that will give you the quantity but not the quality. You can only get about 2 or 3 quality training sessions in per week, the rest is just extra miles. Cyclists draw more of a distinction between quality and quantity, it's very normal for cyclists to train 3 days per week but they will be mega training sessions.
She doesn't use an elliptical arc trainer - she uses an arc treadmill - her cross-training is still running but not flat or traditional treadmill running.... how did you get that wrong?
@@davidrosenthal5795 Correct. From another interview, Parker Valby: "I can't do treadmills...". The arc treadmill myth has been busted, straight from the source's mouth.
New Balance wanted Valby so they can have the most smokin' hot female athlete roster in the world. Valby and McLaughlin-Levrone could be supermodels. They signed Coco Gauff and Cameron Brink, too. Let's be serious here: Pretty-Girl marketing works in our contemporary Instagram world.
LOL! Why would New Balance waste their money on such a relatively unproven and low performance track athlete like this? Sure, she is attractive but comparing her times to the elite runners of the world and well, she has a lot to do to get to their level if in fact, its even possible for her to get to their level. Sooooo, good luck New Balance on this marketing scam and you better hope she can at the least finish to 5 sometimes for you. Good luck to all involved in this business venture, but......why not go after some of the women who are setting WRs? I'm sure they would love an endorsement deal as well........I'm sticking to Puma and not worried about what athletes are wearing what shoes..........
Talk about a garbage hot take! You think Valby is an "unproven" and "low performance" athlete??? Dude, WATCH some media coverage. READ some articles. EDUCATE yourself. Valby took 2nd at the U.S. Olympic Trials in the 10K Final. That's 2nd in the nation against a nearly all PRO field. And on the world stage in Paris against the best runners in the world, literally the WORLD'S BEST, she placed 11th in Olympic 10k Finals. I've never been a Valby stan but even I must admit that's an amazing result for a college runner with zero world championship race experience, esp for someone only running 30mi/week. In the NCAA's she never had competition so never experienced constant pace changes/surging and big pack running deep into a race like in Paris. Before the Olympics, Valby had never been spiked b/c she was always front running. So for Valby to be running and even leading the pack w/ 1.5 laps-to-go in Paris says a LOT. She reached #2 in the nation while still technically a collegiate athlete. If she stays healthy as a pro, she'll only get faster with FULL TIME dedicated training & race experience
@@EricS-uf9mv ??? LOL! Seriously? There have been a rash of WRs being set in the last few weeks and so far, her name is NOT appearing anywhere......I'm presuming this will continue to be the case.......now, I'm not suggesting that she isn't a decent runner, but certainly not one worthy of a shoe deal??? Thats crazy on NB's part imho....obviously you don't agree and think she will be setting some WRs and medaling at world's or something???......unlikely to happen.....ever......LOL!....buy hey, we can all keep living the dream......but to be fair, sure, she will get faster, but not at the same level of the world's elite......so I guess if you want to lower your standards....well, be my guest.
With her collegiate performances and Olympic level running? Are you kidding? She is young and just out of college. She has years to get better and is now in a program which will help get her there. Always someone who has to spew negative garbage.
Don't get injured is the golden ticket.
I wear New Balance too. They are great. If she can get paid well for wearing them, she has made a great choice.
