The Demon in the House is the one Thirkell so far that I haven’t cared for as much as others. I didn’t have it the first time I read many of the Barchestershire books and picked it up the next time I started them. Jen: Is China Court still on the unread shelf?! Hi, Jen, I’ve read the book, but not recently… maybe you talked about it, but I can’t remember if that other mr Elliot, who comes to woo Anne, is “coming out of the blue?”, or did he know her earlier in life? ( other than being a …distant? relative of her), and is he wooing her bc of her money?… to inherit her estate?.. but didn’t think she was too rich, as they had to sell their home?… I never understood his connection/motives towards her… if you tlkd about it, can you tell me what time in your video? Thx. Sorry if not too clear…🤔🥰

I already have an enormous tbr for February, but I'm tempted to add The Scarlet Pimpernel. It's been on my shelf for decades unread. 🤦 Cheaper by the Dozen was a favorite of mine as a kid, I still own my grandmother's copy. The adaptation from 1950 is fun to watch.

My January TBR has run over into my February TBR, so I have to finish my two current reads before I start my February stack. Not a great start to the month, but I’ll never complain about having a stack of books that I want to read (even if it means that February will probably now run over into March 🤣). I’m looking forward to re-reading A Company of Swans, and starting my Six Queens series (by Alison Weir) buddy read with my mom this month! I loved shopping your shelves with you! Your February TBR sounds cozy and relaxing and wonderful! If you’re looking for a video idea (or a topic for your next Cuppa & a Chat video), I’d love to hear how you’re able to read so many books each month. How you juggle work, a family, a social life, and a UA-cam channel while still reading so many books each month is amazing to me!

I’m on a low buy. I’ll read from my shelves and catch up with Audible first. Also Mrs. McGinty’s Dead is one of Christie’s best.

I enjoyed The Scarlet Pimpernel. If you haven't read the Mrs. Tim books by D. E, Stevenson, I think you will enjoy them. I still want to get the Dean Street Press editions. I have my mom's old copies which I treasure but they have been well-loved.
