We explore wonderful bike trails across the US, and occasionally even some trails outside of the US. We will get back to nature, explore historical sights, share information about food, drinks and other amenities on each trail. We will also demonstrate that it's easier than ever to get out and ride no matter what your age or ability level.
If you're like us, you have to spend a lot of time researching to find out what a trail is like. Well, not anymore! We'll ride any trail -- the good, the bad, and the ugly -- so you can decide if it's for you.

Biking Washington: The Burke Gilman Trail - Seattle's Urban Bike Route
Ride through Seattle on the Burke-Gilman Trail. The 4th inductee into the Rail Trail Hall of Fame (2008), Spans nearly 19 miles between Bothell and Seattle. The Burke-Gilman Trail is as much a thoroughfare for commuting to work and the University of Washington as it is a staple for social recreation and fitness. Built in the 1970s, the trail was among the first rail-trails in the country and helped inspire dozens of similar projects around the nation.
The Burke-Gilman Trail has a rich history dating back to the late 19th century. It was originally a railroad line known as the Seattle, Lake Shore and Eastern Railway, which connected Seattle's industrial areas with the surrounding communities. In 1971, the City of Seattle, along with King County and various community organizations, began the process of converting the abandoned railway into a recreational trail. The Burke-Gilman Trail officially opened to the public in 1978, and since then, it has become a beloved destination for cyclists, walkers, and joggers.
This ride took place on September 5, 2023.

Biking Wisconsin: The Elroy Sparta Rail Trail The Country's First Rail Trail!
Rode this path and went thru the tunnels both in the day and night. Tunnels are delightfully creepy! Especially at night. I recommend this to any biker. Enjoy!
Thanks for your comment and support of our channel.
Hope yall are doing ok and just needed a break, but looking forward to more trails. If you do make it down south this winter. Here are 3 trail suggestions for a nice trip. Swamp Rabbit in Greenville, SC. The bridge just got completed on the Cricket Frog which makes it 14.25 now (dont forget to reward yourself with an ice cream) at the eastern end of the trail. Then you cant miss the Silver Comet & Chief Ladiga trails to round out a trip. Happy riding!
Hi, Thanks for checking in. We usually have a big drop in viewership during the late fall/winter months, so we've stopped posting for a while. We've just returned from another cross-country trip -- so I have lots of new content for the spring. We appreciate the suggestions on the trails. Those are on our list -- just need to figure out when we can get down there. Thanks for your support.
Because of this video, I took my wife on this ride for our anniversary! We went all the way to Cumberland, which was 34 miles, but it was a great experience (til the last 5 miles, our butt's hurt!)
@@Xaxameti Sounds like you had a great ride. Glad we could serve as inspiration for your trip. We have another video of the entire GAP trail ride that we took a couple of years ago. We took 3 days and stayed at B&B’s. Then we got a ride back to our car in Pittsburgh from Cumberland. P.S. - padded bike shorts might be worth a try? I like the Terry Cycling products that I can get on Amazon (women’s). Randy has a pair of padded bike underwear that he can wear under anything that he likes.
So what tunnel was the scariest you've been on?
I’d have to say the first tunnel on the Allegheny River Trail in PA. The tunnel has a curve so you can’t see the end until you are halfway through. Water is leaking from the roof and the pavement is curved to allow for water run off. There are little streams running down either side. So you have to stay in the middle! In the next few days we will be, hopefully, riding through the 2nd longest rail trail tunnel in the US - so that may turn out to be the scariest. We’ll have to see! Thanks for watching.
U should do Tucson Arizona loop
Thanks for the suggestion. We actually just finished riding 3 segments of the Chuck Huckleberry Loop. Should be putting those videos up in the spring. Thanks for your support of our channel.
Those people with children are WALKING thru this endless tunnel? They must be patient, to say the least.
@@LaurenceDay-d2p it was like a holiday activity!! You definitely had to keep a good eye on where people were. I’ve bought an even brighter light because we are going to ride through the 2nd longest rail trail tunnel in a few days. It’s in VIrginia. Thanks for watching.
Some of the graphics you put on screen goes away to quickly.
Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately once it’s up, it can’t be edited. We appreciate your support of our channel.
Beautiful video.
Thank you for watching!
Hey Debbie, who did you buy your visor from? Almost everything I looked at on Amazon said that they didn't work with bike helmets. Yours seems to work great. Thanks, Phil
Visor came from da Brim. Ordered it directly from them. Takes a little bit of effort to get it on, but then it stays on the helmet nicely. Doesn’t fit quite the same on my Sena communicator helmets, but it does stay put and I can get to the controls to turn the helmet on. It does work great. Thanks for watching.
I rode the East Bay Bike Path end-to-end and back this summer. It's easily my favorite path in New England, for the water views and the trailside amenities. PlantCity in Barrington is tops for me food-wise.
Definitely a great path!! Thanks for sharing your experiences. We want to ride it again soon. Thanks for watching.
Beautiful trail, bucket list for certain. Your videos are very well done.
Definitely one we would say everyone should ride if they can. Thanks for watching.
About how long did it take you to ride from Hill City to where you had lunch?
That was last year, so not sure I remember exactly. We started at 8am and got to Deadwood at 3pm - so probably 3 hours. But we stopped at the train station, for the cows, and other things. Thanks for watching.
Great videos! I really enjoy them and seeing where I bike. You guys are awesome!
Thank you for your kind comments. We appreciate your support.
Why the awful music! Could not keep watching
The carriage trails have a speed lit of no more that 20 mph. Having ridden them, I dont think there is anything much over a 4% grade in there. The steepest grade in the park is a 7.4% quarter mile of Cadillac Mountain access road. The worlds steepest street is 35% and if you fall on that, you are rolling back down. Great video I am heading back up there for all trails ride tomorrow.
Thanks for the additional info. Have a great ride and thanks for watching!
That is why I dislike rail trails...good weather everyone is on them, they take zero effort, skill or anything else to be on them. Plus lots of noise and you feel like you never left home . To me those (clears throat) trails, are like having to take your sister to the dance....
We recently rode a trail in St. George Utah that had a crazy grade and even though paved was very challenging even with a class 1 e-bike! It was the Rt 18 trail. We did the 18 mile loop through Snow Canyon. The urban trails are always packed, and we usually end up there on the weekend somehow. We’ve ridden a number of really great trail trails. Maybe I need to make a video of the most challenging rail trails? Thanks for watching.
Yes, enjoyed the ride. Many thanks. Pete (Manchester UK)
Love the UK! Thanks for watching.
Excellent video. Reminded me of our trip to Seattle. It was beautiful. Thank you for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it! We had a great time in Seattle and then the Olympic Peninsula on our cross-country trip last year. Highly recommend it!! Thanks for watching.
We recently rode the Betsie Valley Trail in Michigan and the Raccoon River Valley Trail in Iowa. Both are good ride for you to try! Love your videos! RV’ing with e-bikes is the best!
Thanks for your comments. We have the Betsie Trail on our list when we take a MI trip - hopefully next year. We heard about the trail from someone who lived there. Raccoon River was on our list last year, but we had to make a change of plans when returning from our cross country trip and that one fell from the list (still sad about that). We also have a lot of fun combining RVing and biking. We appreciate your support.
Exploring America's most beautiful trails from sea to shining sea. WOW! I felt poetic writing that.
It is very poetic!! We are having a lot of fun finding new trails to ride - just can’t get to them fast enough. Thanks as always for your support.
I always heard that area was kind of sketchy. Did you guys feel safe the whole time? And normally, you guys rate the trail at the end .How did you feel about the trail itself?
We rode the trail on a Tuesday mid-day and it was pretty crowded - but it is an urban trail and a main trail for students at the University of Washington. We didn’t at any time feel like we were in any danger or any sketchy areas. Thanks for watching.
We were riding the Kal-Haven trail at this time 9/28/24
Thanks for watching
What time of the year were you there? What month thank you.
June. FYI - if you watch any other of our videos you will find a date of the ride in the description below the video. Thanks for watching.
Great narration, informative and helpful. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching.
I noticed the signs that said bikes must be walked thru the tunnels but I see people are riding and one shot of walking? Is that just a disclaimer by the trail admin?
Yeah…. We rode through the tunnels as well, but very slowly. And when we encountered someone, we stopped and walked past them. I’m sure the sign is just for trail protection. We couldn’t see how anyone would really want to walk through those tunnels. But that’s just us. I guess we are rebels.
The tunnels on this trail are not too long, and there are 10 of them, as well as cuts where the roof has been removed. The Hiawatha tunnel in Idaho is looong and super-dark. Creepy! Check it out on UA-cam.
I would like to ride this trail at night - I love to hike and ride at night - when the entire length, including the tunnels, would be delightfully creepy. Anyone else out there enjoy creepy rides at night?
I’d want to have great headlights. When we rode it they were putting down cable and it was a bumpy mess. I hope now it’s a superhighway. I’m scared of the tunnels during the day, so I’m not sure how I’d feel at night (ha ha). Thanks for watching.
@@Adventuresonebikes Yes, I always have two headlights, one for a spare. Tunnels are creepy, but that's why I like them - and they are just as dark in the day as at night. I once rode a long dark tunnel and called out "whooooo" like a ghost just to be silly. A group of people at the opposite end said I scared the daylights out of them. Ha, ha! Happy riding - all the best!
I rode this trail for the first time in March 2024. Delightful! I want to ride the entire length eventually. The tunnels are creepy but not too long and the forests surrounding the trail are beautiful. In autumn when the trees turn but the weather is not too cold, this trail is gorgeous.
We hope to get back to this trail sometime soon and ride the whole thing. How is the trail condition now that they are long done with the cable laying project? Thanks for watching.
Spent many great days on that trail.
I wish we were a couple of weeks earlier when fall would have been at its peak. We were a little later - but we still really enjoyed our ride. Thanks for watching.
Thanks Rick! The U.P is so far away from most metro areas that most people will not drive 6-8 hours to camp for just a weekend so mist if the time especially during the week you can drive into a State or National Park and find good spots. The forests up there are beautiful pines. Then to top it off you have Lake Superior and Lake Michigan beaches close in the eastern U.P.. Very good camp trips that way. Next week we head up by Sayner, WI for a 6 day camp trip. Fishing, hiking, biking and a hundred differnt lakes and rivers in the forests. Glad you are getting a great sample if what the upper Midwest is!! Looking forward to the next video!
Have fun on your trip. Thanks for watching.
@@Adventuresonebikes Oh thanks!!! I was actually responding to "Going Nowhere Fast"! And your video came on. Anyways, we are bringing our bikes up there to Vilas County to ride their paved bike trail (50 miles) from Manitowish Waters to St. Germain, Wi and Sayner. The colors will be at peak next week so we are pumped up. Fishing, camping, hiking and biking!
@@NoFeeArea I was wondering who Rick was but I thought I’d be polite and not ask. 😬
My wife and I enjoy your videos too!!! Someday our grandkids will be independent! We hope! We are homebound with kids and parents for now but get out on occasion. Luckily we have many trails by us and ride about 100 miles a week.
We live in West Newton and we moved here 24 years ago so we can just hop onto our bikes and ride a few blocks to the trail. Best decision we made! It was as great watching your video of our GAP trail.
Thanks for supporting our channel. It must be fantastic to just jump on the GAP whenever you want. We are jealous!!
My wife and I rode the trail from Pt Townsend to Port Angeles. Hwy 112 was scary for her, and it was a big mistake going east to west. Killer head wind picked up in the afternoon. Second time I rode it, I started in Forks. I rode to the ocean at La Push, turned around, and rode the entire route to Port Angeles (west to east this time) plus an extra 9 miles because I wanted to make it a century ride. The combined rides covered the whole trail. Either way, it’s a beautiful trail, and I will probably do it again sometime.
Sounds like you had a great ride! Thanks for sharing your experience and for your support of our channel.
With the new trail updates, I am sure this is a beautiful ride! Is there parking along this trail, or near the falls?
There are a number of places to park along the trail. If you aren’t familiar with TrailLink I’d suggest you check it out. It is a great resource for finding trails, and if you buy a subscription it will give you GPS directions to parking. I’m not sure since it’s been a while since I used the free version, but I do believe you can see the maps and the parking. Thanks for watching.
@@Adventuresonebikes Thank you. I use TrailLink for rides in my region. I will upgrade & buy a subscription, as I also enjoyed your video detailing the resources it provides. Once again, thank you!
I just learned/read about this trail last night. So, today I was excited to find that you had reviewed it! Thanks for helping me plan my trip out east!
Glad we could help! This is only a small section of the Erie Canal Trail, but it is a great ride along the Niagara River right into BUF. We hope you have a great trip!
The 1.5 mile section from Abshire Park is now paved!
That’s great news!! Thanks for sharing.
Great video of our hometown trail. We ride this nearly every day! Sunday is the quietest day of the week here. Goshen Brewing Company is open on Sunday for brunch - highly recommend it as a stop.
Thanks for sharing a Sunday spot to eat. We appreciate your kind comments and your support of our channel.
The section that was limestone is now paved. That happened a week and a half ago.
That’s great news! Thanks for sharing.
I just got a Lectric 3.0 and am so excited to take this trail. Might have to go alone, but that's ok too!
Have a fun ride! Thanks for watching.
Another beautiful ride! And another trail on our upcoming trails list! And the shot of your bikes at the end of the video made me pause it. My wife and I ride the very same bikes! Ours are the Ultimate C 8. Absolutely love them! Let us know if you're ever in the Green Bay WI area!
Hi. Thank you for taking a minute to comment. Glad to see we can add to your list! We also love our Ultimate C8’s. Gazelle came out with an Avignon this year that looks interesting, but can’t find it anywhere to even take a look (also more expensive than C8’s boo hoo!!). At some point we will end up doing a MI trek, not sure when. Thanks for your support.
Thank you for riding this trail!! I just rode it the other day. I took me SO long to finish- I kept stopping to see the horses!! Beautiful trail!
It is a great trail. We love the little touches along the way - the sign painted on the trail, the art, and of course the horses! Thanks for watching.
Really fun trail! Keep them coming!!
Thanks! Will do!
Clarification? Was this trail 17 miles one way or 17 miles out and back?
@@marcusrawls2125 17 miles one way
Such a lovely place wish l was there y'all make some of best videos l watch them all.
You are so kind. We appreciate your support of our channel.
Thanks for posting. I too, am moving the Pumpkinvine trail up on my list!
Hope you get a chance to ride it soon! Thanks for watching.
I have a black Da Brim riding hat too. 😎👍
It is the best! Thanks for watching.
Thank you, you two, for taking me with you! Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio have beautiful bicycle trails! Love seeing the livestock, and those purple? (partly color blind) flowers up close!
Glad you enjoyed it! Haven’t been to Kentucky yet - hopefully sometime soon. Thanks for watching.
😎 Cool. So when are you guys going to debut your new helmets and have you used them yet? Started my UA-cam channel (Indy Bike & Trail Odessy) plan downloading my first video next week using your format and techniques. What source do you use for your background music? Notice that you primarily do a voice over, and change the music selections several times(nice touch). Also very apparent that you do your research before the ride. The info you share is interesting and useful. 👍
You probably won’t see the helmets in a video until next year. We have some trail rides planned over the next month, but I’m not going to publish new material after mid-November (people aren’t really watching bike videos it seems in the winter). I’ll start again early next year. Congratulations on starting your channel! I use Epidemic Sound for my music. With a lot of the other services I more often than not have to fight that I have the rights to use it. It’s not a long process but annoying.
Great video. I'm going to have to bump this trail to the top of my list for October
Hope you get a chance to get out on it soon. Thanks for watching.
Maybe they were all at church on sunday. Just rode my ebike on block island Rhode island this week. No rail to trail on the island though.
That is likely the case. Thanks for watching.
Wonderful way to wind down a nice, pleasant Sunday watching this video. It was particularly relaxing and beautiful as well. Once again, thanks for sharing your incredible rides with us.
Glad you enjoyed it! As always, we appreciate your continued support.
