Great video. We love riding the Monon.

We didn’t plan to ride the Monon - it was our way of escaping a thunderstorm farther north. But we are so glad we found it!! It was an unsung gem. Thanks for watching.

Great video! My family & I rode this trail a few weeks ago, from the southern end to Westfield. It is a wonderful trail. Bub's Burgers is an awesome place to eat! Thanks for showing me the section I haven't seen!

You mentioned the heat, try riding it in December. I rode it on the morning of December 31, 2016. It was a chilly morning. My daughter was playing in a basketball tournament at DePauw University and I was willing to go for a ride regardless of the temperature. I rode from Indianapolis north to just past Carmel. Another great video!

Nothing wrong with getting out on the trail in December! A few years ago we biked every month in Upstate New York. Always great to get out and stretch your legs. Thanks for your support of our channel.

It’s funny we didn’t even plan to ride this trail at this time! We were trying to escape a big thunderstorm by driving 30 miles farther south than the trail we planned to ride. And boy are we glad we did! I love the town of Carmel - it was quite a surprise how well planned it is and how the trail is integrated into it. Thanks for watching.

Oh, perfect timing for me with this video! We are going to Indianapolis in a few weeks, and are hoping to take our bikes if the weather cooperates. This would be a great trail for us to try. We've ridden the Big 4 Trail that is west of the Monon, and runs from Colfax to Lebanon. It has a lot of new pavement and is mostly rural. Pleasant ride and scenic.

Wow what a well planned trail. The city part was like a park setting with flowers and art pretty amazing. The overpasses seemed very well-thought-out. In fact, the entire city plan seemed well-thought-out also.

Definitely!!! We wish we’d had more time to spend in Carmel. That town looked like it was brand-new, we were told that area was developed over 10 years ago! There are parts of the trail we didn’t show (not exciting), but interesting because several times you didn’t cross at the intersection, but you went down side road a few hundred feet and then crossed. That made it a lot easier than worrying about the lights. Thanks for watching.

1:00 ....how did the train make that sharp turn?

Ha ha! Likely the trail is not the exact route of the train. Thanks for watching.

Well done ma'am. 4K quality video, excellent camera angle and audio quality, good highlights and commentary. Interesting format, pleasant background music. Good speed transitions and camera position changes. Good editing and voice over. I live in Carmel and ride my etrike on the Monon weekly. Have actually gone end to end full length twice. Have a couple of questions. What video and audio equipment are you using and what editing app or software do you use? I'm starting a youtube channel soon and this video was an inspiration to me. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much for your kind comments. We loved Carmel and wished we had more time to spend on our way through. Such a well-planned area! We use GoPros primarily for recording. For production I use a program called Camtasia and record audio using a Blue Yeti desktop mic. My only suggestion for you in starting a UA-cam channel is do what makes you happy and don't stress about the fact that it may take you a couple of years to meet the criteria for monetization. BTW: You have to have a pretty big channel to make a living at this! We make enough money to buy a new camera every year and pay for the things I need for video production!! But we never started this to make money. We are doing this because it helps us stay active and doing things and going places we would have never thought of. It helps keep us motivated when great people like you appreciate our channel.

Thanks for the quick response and advice. As a side note, I and my wife ride together frequently and use the Sena M1 helmets with intercom capability. Makes the ride more enjoyable and enables us to keep each other more situationally aware of vehicle traffic and other potential issues, as well as discuss points of interest in real-time. Happy trails.

@@dennislunsford5801 That’s interesting. Coincidentally, we just bought Sena M2 helmets. Got them yesterday, but so far they seem like they will be very helpful not only at road crossings and other traffic areas, but when i see something I want to stop and look at I won’t have to worry about stopping too quickly or his getting too far ahead before he notices I’m not there!!

Thanks for watching! We aren't traveling full-time and probably never will. We are, however, taking trips that are farther away from home base, so we are gone longer on each trip. You can find a list of HOF trails here: www.railstotrails.org/hall-of-fame/#trails
