Look man, I know it's nonsense but I don't hate these people. I actually watch some of their videos. Why? Because it's funny. Yeah, it makes me laugh. Also, there's this one guy who finds the most fascinating photos and drawings I've ever seen. Thousands of them. I mean really, who are they hurting? Are they chopping off people's heads? Are they flying planes into buildings? No, they are harmless. Now,I don't want them to pilot an airplane or program a missile using flat earth theories, but they don't bother me and I don't let them live in my head. I choose to look at it like a comedy.

My brother n law is a flat earther. He used to be normal. He thinks the earth is flat, space is fake, satellites are held up by ballons, the sun is actually in our atmosphere, the moon is light, the ice wall, etc. He brings it up all the time. I don't even argue with him anymore. He's too far gone.

I had a coworker who was a flat earther. I told another coworker that so and so was a flat earther and the 2nd coworker said they were a flat earther too. Mind blown. I received a small refracting telescope for Christmas when I was in 6th or 7th grade. I spent hours looking at the Moon and planets. I remember replicating Galileo's tracking of the 4 largest Jovian moons.

I think there are truly some people who believe that the world is flat, but a greater majority are just contrarians. There is also a small minority which uses Flat Earth to grift people and to make money. They're sort of like the television evangelists who get you to send them your life savings promising things they could not only not ever deliver on and things of which they know nothing about.

Really interesting reading the comments. The flerfs keep repeating the same lines from the same script from 2015 though each and every item in their script has been incessantly debunked. Yet never has a flerf gone to a shoreline, filmed a ship disappearing over the horizon from the bottom up and, after the ship has disappeared completely over the horizon from the bottom up, zoomed it back into view. Oh, I take it back. Mark Sargent (claims to be flerf but isn’t. He’s grifting) did participate in such an experiment. After it demonstrated earth’s curvature, he shrugged and said “earth’s flat anyway.” And his idiot minions just agreed.

You can't take pictures of space. You can take pictures of light that is received that is said to come from space. Your description of a cult makes me feel that round ball earthers are the cult.

My grandfather told me in the 1920s and 30s schools teached Flat Earth still, globe only started after world war 2. This is fact, you can read 1930s newspapers like the Boston globe of teachers being arrested for teaching the globe.

Unfortunately according to flatearthers, telescopes are preloaded with NASA images and so you only see what the evil NASA wants you to see. The only reliable camera, according to them, is the Nikon P9000 and as expected, NASA has apparently ordered Nikon to discontinue it because it was revealing too many NASA lies. The same Nikon that has made lenses and cameras for use on NASA space missions.

I seem to recall that the flat earthers sort of took over (on you tube) the peeps who argued against what nasa portrayed as space. Any unbiased study quickly destroys the flat earth stance, but not so much about what nasa has been caught doing, repeatedly, over the years. That is what makes me think "wtf" and "why" more than anything concerning a flat earth. I myself have found more than a few strange things in nasa's mars photos straight from their own website. You guys all don't understand how this whole thing works. The moon gives its own light the sun gives its own light these are luminaries in the firmament they are not solid objects in outer space floating around. This whole thing is like a light show. There's a bunch of little lights in the sky called stars but they're not actual large gas objects or things you can land on. This whole thing is called the firmament and all the light show is in the firmament. Just take a look at any Star Trail and you will see that there's no parallax that proves that all those stars are at the same distance from us
