that pad from 4:09 to about 5 mins is insanely thick for an FM synth. Doesnt sound Yamaha at all. More Oberheim.

I also have a JX-3P. This synth is a 2-DCO, but for some reason I find its sound flimsier than the 1-DCO JUNO-106.

I had an Xpander which I paid around 2K for when it came out. Then a year later I saw new Matrix 12's at Guitar Center for $1995. I was depressed at the cost but I should have realized it was an investment opportunity but then I was young and stupid...

Got one of these, they really have a unique sound to em. Some ppl don't like it because its not warm enough.

I'm doing a project with mine. I've rehoused the circuit boards etc onto an aluminium base & just have to figure out how to make a nice wooden surround to make it into a large keyboardless module resembling my Oberheim Xpander. Eventually I may remove the ribbon controller & find a way of mounting it on one of my master midi keyboards which are an Ensoniq SQ80 & Rhodes Chroma, or I may make a special housing for it. Part of my initial motivation was to help make the most of limited space by wall mounting next to the Xpander & partly to own something unique. As I heard they can be finicky I was relieved when I recently tested it & it still worked!
