Does this seem like moisture damage? Is the discoloration mold? That really sucks man, maybe a de-humidifier needs to be implemented if not already done so. If its the plastic on the case itself then they need to revisit their product and pay for damages/damage fixes.

Small caveat Polymer chemisty is not my full speciality but polyethylene is a plastic that can allot and typically does have allot of things added to it to aid certain properties. Sometimes these additives can come out of the plastic with ageing and weathering. I suspect that is the case here and that led to your wall paint staining. Its definitely a serious issue and a bit shocking that they would dismiss it and say your claims are unsubstantiated. They should handle this the same as they did the other issue or atleast investigate it further. I hope there's an amicable ending to the situation.

Hmmm, this is worrisome. I’m one of the 2 or 3 commenters that aren’t just trolling or shit posting. You mentioned the comic capsules right when I was deciding on my primary method of hard case storage so I ended up getting 80 of them. I’ve liked them to this point. I bagged and boarded them in the capsules, but I’m going to check tonight and see if there are problems with the books. I certainly hope not.

Sticky Goose ,use the vinyl siding trim cause I have seen a lot of people using it and it looks pretty steady or u can just build some custom shelves. I would be pissed cause I would imagine it damaged the comics too.

As a collector, I've never wanted a slabbed book. I've believed those are for Rich traders or people dealing the comics like pieces of art. Those people move in different circles. I like mid-grade to 9.0 books so I can actually have them without breaking the bank. I think 6-9's are great if they have good, clean covers. This is what I'll be buying in the future.

Though the capsule is extremely poorly designed judging what they did to your comics and wall; it’s common sense that any wall display will cause some damage to the wall. Hope your loss is minimal. I use clear plastic shelf frames designed for vinyl to display books (raw & graded).

Just buy some paint and paint the wall. Shouldn't take too long. I know you're a dentist, but painting a wall won't be bad.

Having just got back into comics, I agree, but I also see it as art with appreciation and slabbed to protect the art, buying graded comics which I've read before and giving that nostalgia feel. I do think slabbed is gone a bit crazy, with new 52 comics, re-prints that only came out last year being slabbed already, resulted in a watered down market.

Keep at their necks, sticky. It’s absolutely okay to point out problems. I’d react the same way if I was giving free advertisement to an audience for a product that doesn’t work.
