This is so stimulating to me. The beautiful is breathtaking. I dream of spaces like that. One day I’ll have a garden. The family is so generous to share their private space with us. It’s appreciated.
Tropical flowers are a great source of income too. We plant it and then sell it to the market. Some of our buyers use it for decorations like wedding, birthdays etc.Hello from the Philippines ❤️
Hello from the Chihuahuan desert in Mexico, thank you and the family so much for the tour. So interesting to see what we call houseplants, become trees in the right climate 🌴
My wife and I have been enjoying your series Irene! Would love it if you could start by showing the overall landscape before going into individual plants. Would like to understand how one compose and make use of their garden within the given space.
Magic is adorable. Even if he peed a little, you should carry him more often when you do your garden tours. He would be the perfect plant mascot. I have two pomeranians myself.
You said about making a tea out of the "Moses in the Cradle (Tradescantia spathacea)?" Never heard about it. Mine are getting tiny white flowers inside a clam shaped leaf at the base of each leaf node. I've literally been binge watching Leafing Around's beautiful tropical plant videos for days now. LOL, you said the heat was making you forgetful but I could never imagine that anyone could ever remember that many different scientific names for so many different philodendrons, anthuriums, and aolocasias
I think that 'Bee' may have been a 'Hummingbird'. They're tiny and tend to sound like a Bee, because they flutter their wings so fast. Wonderful, delightful and very beautiful, gentle little pollinators.
Hi they are called carpenter bees, dont sting, but rather scary to see their size. They love boring holes in your house beams to lay their eggs. So know as carpenter bees.
That is a beautiful house with a wide view into the lush garden! I laughed at your OOPS comment about cross contamination when cutting... love that humor (well, fact)....thanks for the laugh and a little getaway (it felt like I was there)!
Dear Irene, I've just discovered your channel. I love the gardens you show. As I'm in a dry area of Mexico I can only dream about most of the plants but I do get to grow Strelitzia which give a tropical look and are not very thirsty. I will echo what a few other people have said: I use headphones to listen and only get your voice in the left side and music, which is way too loud to hear your voice above it, on the right side. That said, you are very charming and I don't mind at all your arm gesticulations. Don't change, you're perfect. And the best host.
same! I thought my headphones had broken! But then the music appeared and that one would show up on the right side. Her videos have always been symmetrical so I hope this was just equipment failure and resolved in the meantime
That is a really lovely garden and house. It's wonderful how both merge together and makes it feel at times that house is an extension of the garden and vice versa. That was a really enjoyable video Irene, many thanks.
When i first clicked on this video it looked good but I didn’t realise it was by leafing around. Thrilled to see Irene pop up with her great enthusiasm and lovely voice. Thanks for the maintenance tips too Irene!
Another beautiful home to and garden. I love the really tall in leafy plants. I took screenshots of my the names to try and find them locally for my gardens.
Kuching is a fantastic little city. I spent a couple of weeks there on my way to Sabah. Fantastic people, fantastic food. Phenomenal culture. I miss my Malay brothers there (I’m Filipino)
I love watching you experience for all of us these exquisite plants... but you are so shady🌴😎🤣 I hope you disinfected your pruning shears while cutting other people's botanical gardens and insinuating they have diseased leves🌿🤣 Leafing around is a perfect name!💚 This is one of my favorite videos now!! Bringing design, Art and Garden together
I love how you pull out your pruners and start chopping plants. 💙😂💙😂💙 Irene, you bring so much light and inspiration to my life! SUCH a beautiful home! Thank you for sharing!!! 💙🌱
Oh thank you so much for this tour - I got so many great ideas for our own house and garden. We have a big sideways bent tree branch just like the one you showed - in the courtyard outside their dining area. DUH - instead of a bare big tree branch which has irritated me no end - we can grow ferns, orchids or bromeliads on that big sideway's branch. Sweet - problem solved. Great house and garden and fantastic art too. Loved all the leather and the white baby grand. You were right, this is a relatively simple, easy-care garden, although obviously well established over many years.
Will use the several tips that you share. So much inspiration and ideas from your videos...Beautiful house and garden. Thanks for sharing.... can't wait for the next surprise video!
I have a tropical garden in a semi-tropical zone 8 in Texas. Frost tender plants I keep in pots and move them inside for the winter. Outside, I leave in the ground to die back and return each year, are Aspidistra (this one is evergreen all winter), Canna, Banana, Fatsia, Alocasia, Colocasia, Amaryllis, Ferns, Turmeric, Ginger, Yucca recurvifolia (soft leaf Yucca), Coral Bean for it's exotic flowers and Cordyline. I also grow flowering Azaleas, Gardenias, Hydrangeas, Hibiscus varieties, etc.
@@leafing.around When you love plants like I do, it's not such a roller coaster ride. The dying back and growing again takes no effort. And I enjoy my tropical plants inside during the Winter.
Dear Kathlyn thanks for sharing some of the plant names, I'm really curios of 2 things hope you can answer. Banana is left outside during winter and back to life in spring? Has it fruit ever? Thank you and great day.
Thank you so much for the wonderful tour of this award winning house and garden. How amazing a house inspired by The Mulu Pinnacles! (For me, regular visits to the astonishingly spectacular Mulu Caves were the absolute highlight of living and working just over the border in Brunei). The courtyard architecture plants and glass really envelopes this house in tropical plants. So beautiful, I felt like I was drinking that lushness in. I loved the antique door and sanded sculptural trunks. What was that unique croton? Is it related to that mother daughter plant? (in another of your tours) the plant with the two leaves off the stem. The huge heliconias were the 🤩 both for flower and form.
Oooh you have spent some time here! I'd be heading to Miri 1st time in my life next month...and gosh you remember my videos better than I do! Yes I vaguely remember now this mother and daughter croton plant at Junie's garden..thanks for jogging my memory!
This is so stimulating to me. The beautiful is breathtaking. I dream of spaces like that. One day I’ll have a garden. The family is so generous to share their private space with us. It’s appreciated.

Am gonna buy a drone soon that will let me do this better! Thanks for feedback😊

I don't have any pets and am a little terrified of dogs actually! But he seemed pretty harmless and soooo cute!
Enjoyed the home and garden tour. The plant with blue-green leaves, maroon purple underside is a Lily Boat or Moses-in-the-Cradle.
What a cute name! Thanks Joyce for the plant identity!

We don’t have hummingbirds in Malaysia, or Asia for that matter..

Sounds like a roller coaster ride having to move them in and outdoor, letting them die back and grow again. Kudos to you...really a lot of effort!
