We love purslane. I make a quick dinner but frying up purslane in bacon grease or butter with garlic and onion. Add a can of Ranch style beans and you have a meal....add hamburger if so desired. I tried finding a purslane wine recipe as that sounds like something fun to try!! Would you have one to share? I found you via the little bit challenge- have 3 other friends that are joining me --- so fun!

I love purslane. I eat it many ways. One of my favorites is saute with lots of garlic in olive oil. Goes well with scrambled eggs. ❤

I just ordered the ball half gallons online and they were packed terribly. Every jar was damaged. If they weren't completely broken, they were chipped or etched/scratched from banging against each other. Won't do that again.

Yes, I’ve got purslane. It’s a hateful invasive WEED! It has invaded my beautiful garden and totally ruined it. It has become a ground cover that I will never get rid of. If any one knows how to eliminate it - please let me know. It should be outlawed. People do not let it in your garden. There are so many great vegetables to eat before you get to purslane.

OK, I. have milky sapped spurge growing from a crack in the driveway and purslane growing in a flower bed and in a flower pot. Almost pulled the purslane up this morning, because I planted some other flower in that spot and the purslane seemed to be crowding it out. All's well that end's well. Thank you. :)

I have tried about three times to identify this plant in my yard from videos. I think your video will be the last one I need to watch. Plump leaves, no white milky substance from the purslane stem. (Yellow or orange or purple flowers.) Poisonous spurge has thin leaves. The stem produces a white milky substance. The spurge stem can be hairy, the purslane stem will not be.

I have been using a Granite Ware water bath canner on my Whirlpool glass top range for many years.. never had a problem with it.. canned pickles, tomatoes, pickled beets..

Ah, finally! A video which clearly identifies purslane compared to spurge. Thank you. Now I'm sure what I thought was edible purslane growing in my yard is really spurge. I'm so glad I ran across this video before I let my curiosity overrule my common sense and tried tasting the plant in my yard. You may have saved me a lot of pain. Thank you.

Love your video. I looked for purslane for weeks last summer. I finally found some growing in a crack in the sidewalk after a rain . I pulled it out and planted it in a container when i got home. Now this year, i have my own container of purslane. I added a branch of it to a salad. And another branch to a bowl of soup. I didn't think it had any taste. But, love the added health benefits.

Had this sealer and hated the guessing game of when the seal was done. Also, it only works on jars. There are so many out there now that seals jars and bags. I got the Vidavac one on Amazon and absolutely love it!

I have the VS 0150 Food Saver and the hose needed is different than the one in this video... For the jars to be sealed I needed to have the green grey hose which is different than the double white tipped hose attachment.. Hope this helps someone out there.... But also I read some of the comments about the green grey hoses and people say that they break easily...
