    We call those pumpkins, cow pumpkins as they were fit for animal food being stringy and watery. If we ate pumpkin it was Cushaw or used butternut squash. They store well so we seldom can it. We once made pumpkin butter out of Cushaw which is similar to apple butter though I don't think it is approved to can it but was really good.
