I've been struggling for a while to get depth and AIS details broadcast via WiFi to a tablet running Navionics. I continue the push in this video and take a chance on the sight-unseen purchase of a used Monitor Wind Vane.

After a MUCH longer time expected to get the Yanmar 1GM Diesel back together, I finally get an opportunity to re-install it to my Cape Dory 25D sailboat. I also install a new engine controller and reveal why my videos have been released only sporadically the last few months.

After reassembling my Yanmar 1GM Diesel engine, I run it through a longer test. Back at my Cape Dory 25D, I discover water rushing into the bilge, and finally complete the replacement hoses installation.

In my continued attempt to get the many old hoses on this Cape Dory 25D replaced, I encounter a few more cascading issues waylaying my progress on a seemingly straightforward task.

Convinced this 1986 Mariner 5HP 2-stroke outboard has a water cooling issue, I do just about everything I can to discover the cause.

I continue work in prepping the boat for the re-installation of the Yanmar Diesel engine, including patching some holes with fiberglass and an attempt to service the engine controller. There is little access behind the engine and fuel tank when installed, so I take advantage of their absence.

With the Yanmar 1GM engine removed from the boat, I'm able to access the fuel tank for removal, inspection and cleaning, along with the many old hoses found behind the engine. What I find while cleaning the tank is disconcerting, but it's all a part of getting the Cape Dory 25D prepped for the re-installation of the engine and, eventually, long distance voyaging. After several months of hiccups and delays, I finally put the Yanmar 1GM Diesel engine back together with new piston, rings, bushings (and more) and start it up. Once I get the Cape Dory 25D set up again to receive the engine, I'll re-install it there and move to other projects and sailing. Thank you to my friend "D" for the generous use of the shop.
