Yes, one of the great things about this park. You can take your dog for a walk there! No bins there though so you need to carry out any poo bags with you.

Yes, great idea! I'm always having to use my buff to pick up when it has just boiled.Will do some looking into that as a mod.

@@FreedomOnFoot silicone tubing is cheap ... Just bought some from Ali Express for $2/m. Get some soapy water into the tubing and it'll slide onto the pot handles easy. I use 3mm internal diameter tubing.

Hey Kara. I haven't pushed the limits of the recommended max load with the Arc Haul yet but have had it loaded up to around 35lbs on a few hikes and have had no issues with it. Still really comfortable on the hips and shoulders and it has been holding up really well under that sort of weight. Hope that helps in your decision about the Arc Haul. Happy hiking!

That's for sure, they are generally going to last somewhere around 700-800kms by which time they'll be well and truly thrashed. Yeah, this one is built to last, that's for sure. I've dragged this through some pretty rough wilderness and it has stood up to everything it's had thrown at it. It's definitely a keeper. Glad to hear you love yours as well.

I have an old Cerro Torre (2010) and have thought about getting the updated Axiom one on marketplace. The newest edition of the Cerro Torre just looks terrible imo!

Thanks for the honest feedback about your experience with it. I'll be interested to see how mine stands up over time but I definitely don't expect it to last as long as the other pack I have which is a fully-fledged expedition pack and will stand up to a real beating. The only downside being of course its weight. So far the Arc Haul is a dream to hike with and hope I'll get some decent mileage out of it.

It's definitely one of my favourite bits of gear that I own at the moment. Just went out for another overnighter with it last weekend and everything about it just works so well for me! Even small things like being able to grab and replace water bottles from the side pockets without having to take the pack off is just so good.

@@FreedomOnFoot Yes! It checks all the boxes. It’s ultralight, made of durable material, will carry 40 lbs, is highly modular, has so many bells and whistles and is built to keep the back cool. My only complaint is that they use black rope that is at times hard to see. I used 1.8mm orange reflective rope and replaced the black rope myself though for $8.

@@MoeBergOSS the reflective rope sounds like a good mod for it.

I haven't actually tried screwing the tips off my poles yet. Will have to see how I go when I do!

@@FreedomOnFoot I've recently read on their website that before being able to unscrew them you have to cut them down the side of the plastic so I wouldn't do it until it's really time to replace them. I'm glad I learned that before damaging my poles

I haven't had that problem at all with this pack. I do use trekking poles which means I'm swinging my arms a bit differently but the hip belt pockets, even though they are large, seem to tuck in really nicely and don't stick out.

I feel very fortunate to have the You Yangs just a shortish drive from home.

It really is beautiful there. I did see the train station when I got to the end. Was fortunate to be staying with a member of my extended family who was kind enough to pick me up once I finished the hike which was a great end to it!

Good tips for shedding a bit of weight from it. I really do love this tent and it kind of feels like a palace now that I've been using a couple of lighter weight one person tents.

Best thing to do is go into a store and try some different packs on with some weight thrown into them. This one felt best for me out of a number I tried and also had all the features I was looking for.

I haven't actually been back along that trail since the boardwalk damage occurred. It's such a great section of the hike through there too. Hopefully won't be too much longer until repairs are completed. Thanks for watching!
