when things fall apart
A week in Belgium proved to be the most demanding shoot, filled with never-ending days and scarce sleep. The beautiful city of Brussels and the bonds formed were the highlights of the trip, despite the emotional challenge posed by our friend David's departure. This video offers a glimpse into the demanding world of filmmaking and the memorable experiences that come with it. #BelgiumVlog #Filmmaking #Travel

My First Feature Film: Day X (the final shot)
Переглядів 8010 місяців тому
Yesterday, I woke up with a clear mission. Packing essentials and teaming up with Manon, our makeup artist, we embarked on a three-hour drive north of Paris, capturing driving shots along the scenic route. Our destination was Merlimont-sur-mer, a charming beach town where the final scene of the movie would unfold-an intricate eight-minute continuous take involving Bill and Jeanne, a recurring t...
My First Feature Film: Day IX (losing perspective)

Despite the mounting fatigue and late nights, looking at the footage from the previous days reminded us of our purpose and commitment to this project. Today, in Montmartre, we transformed Julie's restaurant into a vibrant nightclub. Our team worked diligently, lighting the space and arranging the scene. While exhaustion sometimes clouds my perspective, I remind myself of the choice I made to be...

    Great explanation of the differences (pros & cons) of each media. I am in the process of purchasing some large and rather expensive prints for the first time, and this was exactly what I needed to help understand and ensure that I am making the correct choice for my order. Thank you! Question: Is the glare of the HD Metal Glossy extreme (like the acrylic), and is it capable of being placed near a window without too much reflection or glare?

    • @henri-julien
      @henri-julien 3 місяці тому

      I find that the glare strength on the HD Metal and photo print under acrylic glass to be comparable. However, I personally find the quality of the glare to be more pleasant in the HD Metal. There's something about it that feels a little more gentle, diffuse and integrated (although to my eye the luminance is very similar). I have an HD metal print that I have placed between two windows, and I find that the glare does not bother me. The important part would be making sure that the optimal viewing angles do not reflect directly into a light source. I hope this helps! Apologies for the late response! I didn't get a notification.

    Happy New Year 2024🎉🎉 Thank you for making this most informative video... 👏 so helpful ! Huge fan of the matt acrylic and the metal thermal sublimation... stunning - each has its pros and cons ,I can pick what would look best for each of my photos, both great options dependent on the image. Great news is ... all the metal prints offer aluminium box frames, which gives the extra depth and classy expensive look and weight THANKS again for this video

    Great video, super helpful thanks. I have just got back from Kenya and I have a couple of black and white images of elephants which I would like to print and display in a frame at home. Which of the papers/frame types would you recommend for a black and white fine art print? it is going to be hung in a very modern kitchen which is predominantly black and white. The image is quite high contrast with sunlight, reflecting of the elephant tusks.

    • @henri-julien
      @henri-julien 3 місяці тому

      I honestly don't think you can wrong with any of the high-quality acrylic options or the hd metal print (I've printed both styles for myself and clients and have been pleased every time). The photo print on aluminum backing will also have a nice aesthetic (and may be less expensive), but I personally would be worried about having the photographic paper directly exposed. For the kitchen you've described, I would personally go with the metal print - but ultimately I'm sure you'll come to the choice that's right for you! Apologies for the late response! I didn't get a notification.

      was just looking it up thank you a lot I was thinking of buying one but can't decide between the acryl and the aluminum one. I planned to just hang it up in my Room and I don't wanna pay too much and end up with a small one

      @@gost_bappo3043 Glad the review could help! By the aluminium one, are you talking about the 'direct print on brushed aluminium' or the 'hd metal print'? If you're looking for a cost-effective option that in no way sacrifices quality, I would highly recommend the HD metal print. It's priced well, and I think the result is fantastic. If you're really looking for the least expensive option for the mounting style and it's only for personal use, I would likely suggest the 'direct print on aluminium dibond', although I can't personally speak to the results because it did not come in the set. Depending on where you are based, there may also be other suppliers that can provide a better price for dye sublimation prints. What size are you looking to print?

      @@henri-julien At first I wanted to get the ultraHD Photo Print Under Acrylic Glass but the price kinda scared me off because I wanna have it in 60cm x 70cm and I just want to hang it up in my bedroom for myself so I thought about the ultraHD Photo Print On Aluminium Dibond. And now idk, they don't really or tell me the difference between ultraHD and HD. Wanted to have it a bit glossy cause it's a album cover and I like seeing it in a high quality print with reflection in it without paying over 180 Euro. And I am located in Germany so right now I'm thinking a bit to get the "Photo Print On Aluminium Backing" Thanks for responding

    Hey man, great video. The most difficult thing as a creator is to balance posting your content with consuming content. There’s some irony here too. I don’t want to perpetuate the problem for other people but I want to keep posting my work. Lately I’ve been pretty bad consuming social media, so thanks for shedding light on it. I’m working on building better habits now. Can’t wait until your next video!!

    • @henri-julien
      @henri-julien 3 роки тому

      Yeah man, 100% agree. As a creator, there's definitely an internal conflict to grapple with. A major part of my success will inevitably be highly dependent on people watching or appreciating my work through social media. However, I genuinely think that people should be more aware of their use, and probably spend less time on UA-cam and other platforms in general. The way I'm currently dealing with this point of tension is to try and actively work against some of the manipulative patterns that the algorithms encourage creators to take, and try to get people to question how they are interacting with digital media and try and give people tools and encouragement to find fulfillment in their own life. I think at the end of the day it is about finding balance. But, it's almost impossible to find balance when you have the scale weighted against you. Removing digital technologies from your life for 30 days gives you that needed clarity to properly define operating procedures around social media use that actually benefit your life rather than chronically impede and distract you from moments of true satisfaction.

  • @henri-julien
    @henri-julien 3 роки тому

    Oh the irony of posting a video about reducing social media use on a social media platform. I really do hope that this gets you thinking about your own digital technology use and helps you take a step back and take a moment to figure out the things that make you truly happy ✨
