I Just Realized I Feel the Bern (A Bernie Sanders Song)

I first heard about Bernie Sanders four years ago. As a Canadian-American, it was the first time I really started paying attention to American politics, and I was immediately struck by Bernie's sincerity, integrity and willingness to fight for what was right and what benefitted the common person. I started writing this song, as a joke at first, but realized there was a lot of conviction in the words that I was writing. As he began losing the 2016 primary, I didn't end up finishing the song.
This year, with Bernie surging, and with an incredible chance of seeing him rise to be the democratic nominee, it was time to finish the song. To me, it encapsulates the feeling of that moment when I first realized that Bernie was there for us, for all of us, and that he would never stop fighting.
I feel the Bern.
