      Depends on protocol and patient. Tendinopathy exercise rehab if performed with appropriate load can be done x 3 weekly. That’s my general approach anyway.

      @@Mrts3000 tbh it’s a really low level easy exercise for active patients. I would typically say 5 secs is enough x 5 with view to increasing to 10secs if too easy. Twice a day in early stages but I wouldn’t keep athletes/patients in that stage too long.

      ACL protocols are FWB exercise as tolerated. You are encouraged to FWB unless it’s a more complex surgery where instructions may differ.

      Difficult to comment on your situation. However minor pain and tightness is normal post surgery. Usually tell patients minor to moderate discomfort during exercise is ok.

      No not everyone but some can. These are however low level exercises that you’ll find on ACL protocols all over the internet.

    3 days after surgery. I cant bend over 30 degrees. Is that okey? Is that normal? I excercise on bed few times a day

      3 days is still very early. Everyone progresses at different rates.

    I don't understand how it's possible for people to do these exercises in their first week post-op. I had ACL surgery 5 days ago and i can barely move it, especially bend it. Straightening it in bed is quite good (there's no space between back of knee and bed) but I definitely cannot hyper-extend as shown in the video nor can I flex my quad. Is this psychological and I actually can or is it different for everyone? Just looking at these exercises my pain increased.

      Everyone’s recovery will be different. Video is purely a guide and obviously not being demo’d on a true ACL surgery. If you check out ACL protocols, these exercises will be on it. It’s demonstrating what the patient should be aspiring to. A pro footballer’s recovery will look a lot different to an amateur footballer that’s been waiting 6 months for surgery and done no rehab pre surgery.       I am 1 1/2 week post-op and I am not able to lift my leg or do as much shown in this video. Straightening is fairly easy .

    To be able to do these things on week 6, this must be a relatively mild fracture.

      Yes routine low risk fractures. Obviously with higher risk fractures, weight bearing protocols will differ.

    Hello, I injured myself playing football, I hadn’t warmed up properly after a period of no exercise and I shot the ball really hard and my left quad just went out. that was 16 days ago, normal activities became okay after 3-5 days but I still can’t do hard activities at all. I saw kids playing football in the street 5 days ago, after the first pass I started feeling my quad really tight and I couldn’t run at all and almost can’t put any pressure on my left leg. Raising my left leg up (first exercise in video) I felt nothing, but in the knee extension isometric I felt it hurt quite bad. Also when I squat all the way it hurts and the longer I stay the longer it hurts Any advice please? feels like **** just wanna play football😢

      Weight bearing status will vary depending surgery/site of fracture/consultant instructions etc. Most routine fractures would encourage progressing to full weight bearing around the 6 week mark.

      Everyone will be slightly different. Generally I go for 3 lots of 12-20reps dependant on difficulty of exercise for the patient in the earlier to mid stages. Later stages may differ dependant on sport , patient level and many other factors !

    Thanks for this video. My wrist got fractured in a road accident 2 months ago. It was a colles fracture in radius bone of left wrist. Dr removed the cast after 6 weeks and I am currently undergoing physiotherapy and its been 3 weeks now, i cant even lift a 5 kg dumbbell now. Is it going to be like this forever? How can i restore my grip strength and lifting ability that i used to have before injury, i used to do dumbbell curls using 10-12-15 kg dumbbells in gym and i know deter lifting 5 Kg dumbbell. Any suggestion or word of advice?

    Day 17 postop - still some swelling and don’t have full extension, although pretty close to it. Can do all your exercises for a few days now, I’m just too afraid to stand on injured leg alone :) Finally waking with one crutch, can walk up to 4km a day + doing exercises twice daily and stretching knee arbitrary number of times a day whenever I feel like it. And while extension feels like a very tangible goal, I was so proud when I could 1) take a standing shower 2) make myself a tea and carry it by myself 3) go for a walk and get a haircut in a nearby salon I’m sure we all will get there! Thank you for exercises!

    Regarding first exercise the quads are primarily main for extendeding knee . why focus on hamstring primarily to extend knee? doesnt that cause mechanic imbalance .

      Not entirely sure what you mean by mechanical imbalance. The hamstring extender is a low load stretch to assess the ability of the hamstring to tolerate eccentric lengthening in early stages of rehab.

    This is going to help me a lot I will be sharing this video. I just got my boot on last week. I had 3 fractures and a dislocated ankle. The doctor had to do surgery and put screws in my ankle. I will be doing this until I go back to my 4-week ankle checkup to get started with Therapy.

      I tend to suggest to patients, lower weight/body weight 3x 15-20 in earlier to mid stages to moderate fatigue. Close to failure 3x 8-12 towards end stage rehab. Don’t work with elite athletes anymore but dependant on sport would say they’re doing a lot more explosive work such as 2-6 rep max towards return to sport
