Sorry it was cut off short and for the echo. I found that both my cameras had miraculously died and my tablet was my only choice. This was from September 12th Saturday. We were working on one of the frog switches at the far end of the orbisonia yard before the head of the blacklog bridge where track one meets the main. I hope you all enjoyed I have other video I will be posting up soon.

This is the third part and technically Last part of this, this video was cut short for two reasons. One: I ran out of memory on my chip and did not have another one. Two: I had found that someone was trying to break into the engine house, everything was stripped away except for the Ribar in one of the windows. I am sorry but I do not want anyone breaking into these buildings they are very preci...

Awesome video! @CCRX 6700 works on the Cumberland mine Railroad he has some spiking videos available go check him out
Can you do an update on these cars?
Hope you are stilling updates Nathan. Keep up the great work!
I would like to contact nathan gilmore about the ebt to help, as i am there all summer with nothing todo
I have been trying to contact larry salone about seeing and or buying engine 3's name plate
Do you know about when the US Army box cars were scrapped? Awesome video
Keep the updates coming man. Your right in the heart of the action and one of the few whose filming things as they happen
Nathan. Is there any progress on rebuilding the tracks to Colgate Grove?
It's all done
@@justingilmore5813 we will be riding October 16th. Hopefully we can ride to Colgate Grove, turn around, and then back
Have a good time :)
Mt Union Connecting RR failed because the one primary customer they had backed out before track could be laid. There was interest, it just was withdrawn. Also their loco was a Plymouth CR-4, probably more similar to M-6 than M-7. It all folded up with Mr Levin’s passing.
When are you going to do a update? Love to see whats new since your last update.
Cool stub points (switch as you guys call em).
I would climb it anyway. What a prik you are.
The East Broad Top Railroad Foundation does not like the idea of the general public climbing on any rolling stock or equipment. The East Broad Top hopes u respect there rules and violations for your safety and enjoyment.
What is the intentions of the railroad? Just excursions or freight also?
Narrow gauge?
Nathan we miss ya. Keep up the good work with your videos, Bud.
Now i;m sea sick, time to learn how to use a camera.
how much of the line are they going to rebuild
The foundations end goal is to get the line built from Robertsdale to Mount Union I believe and then also rebuild the Coles branch to joller
@@justingilmore5813 did you guys get 100k grant couple of days ago
@@southerncanadiancoins757 yes the railroad received a 100k grant for the rebuilding of Colgate Grove and for a platform to be built there.
i noticed on google earth a lot of the tracks are still there hiden in forests and tree lines
Yes it is, I've explored quite a bit of the trackage up at the EBT and it is all still there
What rail weight does the ebt generally use?
I believe it's 65 but I could be wrong, I never asked but I can look into it for you.
Thanks for making these videos, I’m a volunteer at the Illinois Railway Museum and while I love volunteering at IRM, if I ever had one other place I would love to volunteer for it’s you guys at EBT (if I ever move out to Pennsylvania). Keep up the good work man and I hope to come out and visit (and possibly help out) sometime In the future.
Any more updates coming ? Really enjoy work session progress videos
At the moment no, but this year I am going to record other parts of the east broad top
@@justingilmore5813 ok, do you know if anything is going on in mount union at all ?
Actually, yes! The retaining wall for the road next to the tracks has been repaired and looks the way it did back in the 40s and 50s.
I didn't know you collected RR lanterns.
Yes it's been a hobby of mine for a few years now, and I don't mean to brag but I think I'm pretty good at it.
I'll post a video of my already retired ones soon
I'm in the process of selling my collection. Is there anything in particular you are looking for?
PRR has been a big one in our collection, looking for a Reading one and Southern lantern. No real preference we clean them up pretty nice, we even sometimes bring them to events light them and use them.
Nate thanks for taking us for a ride on the M 1
That thing rides good, you folks did a good job on your track.
Did you realize you filmed sideways?
No I didn't, I'm gonna start recording with my gopros again, I keep screwing up with my phone. Sorry
Any updates on the steam engines?
I haven't heard anything so no. But if I hear anything I will be sure to say.
Okay, thank you.
Next time give your GF money to go shopping and don't include her whiney ass when you want to make a legit video about EBT..
Her?
Also I didn't review the footage, I think I'm done recording videos with my phone. I'll stick to my gopros. I know you are looking for the videos I promised to make for you, but in the three month period I hadn't post anything I had actually broke my hand and was unable to do these things, it was too much a risk to hurt my hand any more than it was, I also had Covid for 2 weeks. I know my footage hasn't been good recently, but I also am experimenting, I'm sorry for the inconvenience with the quality of video but it is being solved. Like I have said in my videos please do not judge, I will get to everyone's suggestions at some point but it takes time, and with all the inconveniences we have had during 2020 and now 2021 it has been tough on both the railroad, and my family so i ask that you please be patient and enjoy other peoples content for the time being, thank you and have a nice day.
Also if you have nothing nice to say then go away, quite frankly I don't care whether you stay or not, if you do not have the basic knowledge to realize that the world is going through a crisis at the moment, then maybe do it yourself. Again I prefer not to hear this talk, and if you want to know how I'm scheduling this stuff, I don't and with everything going on right now you can't schedule anything accurately.
@@justingilmore5813 The World Pandemic never cam into play with me, but okay you wish.
Would you show us what Colgate Grove looks like now before restoration?
I can try...but I can't keep any promises here, events have been keeping me from my schedule.
@@justingilmore5813 thanks. I understand especially with the snow. Would be neat to have before and after restoration
I'll see what I can do, its gonna be a while till they do anything major. So I should be able to get it.
You need a rail bike
You gonna give us one...;) lol
@@justingilmore5813 can't you build one?
Don't have the machinery or resources to build one...I would have built a million by now if I could.
Is that railroad Narrow Gauge?
Yes it is! And she is a beauty!
Nice video, haven’t been there in a long time
thats pretty cool
Are they going to try and rebuild a few of the structures that were burned years earlier and I'm curious about all the old Hopper cars scattered about the railroad are they going to try and bring those back into service ?
I'm not quite sure about structures but I do know that the foundation/railroad wants to have at least, notice how I say at least 40-45 operational hopper cars.
Also could you go into detail about which structures...I have somewhat of an idea on some of them but could you be more specific, just helps so i can answer questions a bit more accurately.
This is great that its all coming back together! I'm inerested in learning more about how the railroad lays in the land, could you make a video about landmarks along the railroad?
I like your idea, it's gonna have to wait until it warms up a little bit but sure.
@@justingilmore5813 Cool, thanks for taking this into consideration!
I grew up there - unlike almost every other Huntington in the US, this town on the old PRR Mainline calls itself Huntingdon - Don instead of Ton). BTW, both of my father's grandfathers worked on the PRR Middle District in the late 1800's and early 1900's.
Any way you can do a reshoot of Mt. Union yard and engine house while the brush and foliage has died off making it a lot easier to see and repost it ?
Sure I can. There is some really interesting stuff going on in mount union but it doesn't evolve around the railroad. You'll see it when I post it so stay tuned :)
I'm sure it's interesting. If you could hear it.
I understand what you're going through are museums reading company we've been broken in several times
We cant see anything.... can you shake the camera any more 🤨
Haha...just past stuff not to dwell upon.
Somebody needs to clean that yard up
I'd be willing to, I don't think I'd get very far though...😂at least not by myself.
Where are the volunteers to clear this right-of-way and return it to use ? Like the video -- could use better sound.
Yeah still got tweaking to do, gopros are hard to set up. Mostly there settings there's HUNDREDS!
Where is this location?

great filming of the ground lol
Hey, I'm working on it! Lol
Where is this located?
Orbisonia PA, east broad top railroad. Look it up on Google Earth or just on Google.
This is marvelous ! While you're here: what are the chances to recover rail through the tunnels and on to Woodsvale ? Have people coming from all over the world for that trip. Can you say "Cumbres and Toltec" ?
Quite ambitious, Henry Posner has proposed a five year plan for the east broad top to restore the line all the way to the town of Joller, which the branch line that heads to Joller is just before the Wrays hill tunnel. The railroad would restore the sideline hill tunnel and Mules curve, a long with the Coles water tank.
@@justingilmore5813 ♥︎ What has been in other communities, is a put made for funds sharing between the counties seeing direct benefit, the state that has in interest in overall wellbeing of the citizenry, and of course, the friends group itself - which can never have too many members. Set the plan as the goal, advertised widely; break the plan into bite-sized chunks, and make it happen !
Thumbs up to that! Well said.
well, you asked what that engine mounted on the cart was.... well to me, it looks like a cup holder. but no, seriously, the first thing that came to mind was a portable water pump???
Actually, after the video I asked what it was and the railroad believes it was once a welding cart that could move itself, there are actually rounded brackets on the back that held the tank for it. They say it was custom built on the railroad out of spare parts they had for use on the main and around the shops for cutting metal. That way they did not have to wheel out a welding tank, instead they could drive/move that little thing to wherever they needed it with ease. Actually I've really thought about asking the railroad if they will restore it to operational order for use on the railroad. Because right now the railroad actually is hauling around a huge welding kit and tank everywhere, where as if they were to restore that it would make for easy use and full convenience. Also who doesn't like to see the East broad top way of doing things. I mean people love it after all! Anyway when I saw the thing I was thinking the same, that it was a portable pump. Good guess though! Stay tuned for more videos, and spread the word of my channel, a lot of people have been looking for a channel like mine that records progress and projects of the railroad! I've started asking this because of my build in subscriber rates, maybe I now have enough I can get word spread and help bring awareness of the railroad, they really need it you know. The East Broad Top is located in a place most people never see so I would try spreading the word!
Nathan, I just subscribed. I live about 3 hours away and look forward to having the EBT restored to operating condition. I'll also be happy to see future videos with your new camera/stabilizer.
Well thank you for subscribing! I always appreciate the support. I'm also excited to get new videos made in the spring of this year. Things will be a lot different once I get everything situated with both the channel and my recording equipment. Stay tuned for more, and help spread my name, my true goal is to get more support for the railroad and also teach people of the present work that's going on. Stay tuned for more videos to come!
love the restoration work on that hopper.... and the rivets..... very cool.... thanks again for the update, Nathan... Bill in Vermont
Thank you
thanks, Nathan, for your efforts.... big change since last I rolled by 5 years ago.... wish I were closer to help.... Bill in Vermont
Well I hope you come around someday. Thank you.
@@justingilmore5813 thanks, Nathan, for getting back to me on my three comments... once a month I spend a week in PHL.... I would be willing to make the drive to Orbisonia to help with track work, but I would need to stay overnight somewhere close by.... any recommendations? also, when the snow clears, is there a weekend track work schedule? I have construction experience and would not mind helping out.
They're working on track now, most of the snow is gone, also if your looking to stay somewhere you can first try the East Broad Top Bed and Breakfast in Orbisonia, or you could go to the hotel they have in Huntingdon, that's where I mostly go. And across the river from it is the pennsy's old station in huntingdon, good place to watch trains while eating, great places to eat around the area too, all places are good.
@@justingilmore5813 sounds good, Nathan.... is the track work going on weekends only? where and when should I show up? is there a person I should contact first? thanks, Bill
Nathan.... thanks for uploading these videos on the progress made by volunteers like yourself.... question: how much of the line has been restored and what are the plans for any expansion? thanks again, Bill in Vermont
They are running trains to mcmullins summit right before the walking bridge but I believe track crew has expanded that by a quarter mile, also the state is requesting they extend the line 1 mile to the town of Shirleysburg. So hopefully the railroad will build a small passenger shelter or something and that they restore the passing track as well.
