As a child in the 1950's there were US Army green boxcars across from the American Legion towards the old bridge over the river. My mom's aunts and uncles lived in the area and are buried in the Methodist Church Cemetery going towards Orbisonia.
That's very interesting, the army boxcars your talking about have long since been removed, actually I found two of them on a siding in Lewistown, and of course being me I explored them. I mean, they were open in my defense. Though I'm sorry about your aunts and uncles, I never got to meet mine and I'm sure they had some marvelous stories from they're childhood. One of them was actually a passenger conductor on the B&O and another who worked as a maintenance of way worker in Enola yards for the Pennsy. I do wish I could have met them.
I love your Channel. I've been binge-watching videos for an hour now. I'm looking forward to seeing how this whole project cleans up. What a wonderful Gem of a railroad. I would love to see videos of operations, things moving along the rails. I enjoyed the passenger train ride video. Is the little Plymouth Switcher the primary locomotive on this system for now? Is that the one that pulls the passenger train?
First, thank you for enjoying the content and being a supporter! I will be getting to recording more of the operations on the East Broad Top, in the shops on the main line, generally anywhere. The small Plymouth, or the M-6 is mostly used for ballasting, track gang/crew, and general switching around the yard. The M-7 right now is used to pull passenger trains and is used for ballasting along with the M-6. Once #16 is finished it will most likely also be used for passenger service and the possible rare ballasting train or photoshoot. Again, thanks for watching and stay tuned for more! I have big plans this year!

Do you know about when the US Army box cars were scrapped? Awesome video
Somebody needs to clean that yard up
I'd be willing to, I don't think I'd get very far though...😂at least not by myself.
Can you do an update on these cars?
It is amazing how fast nature reclaims here territory!
