Welcome to the O Gauge Ozark Midland & Southern Railway! I hope you will jump aboard for the journey as I work to build my O Gauge model railroad in my 23' 9" x 14' Train Room. Trains and particularly model trains have been a lifelong passion that has continually brought me much joy and happiness through learning, modelling, and friendships. I am hoping that by way of this channel I can share that joy with you. So, all aboard! Bill B.
Post War Box Cars for the Holiday Box Car Challenge 2024 #billbsholidayboxcarchallenge2024
With one week remaining in the Bill B.'s Holiday Box car Challenge 2024, I wanted to share my small collection of post war box cars in the channel's last video of the year. I particularly enjoy running my post war equipment during the holiday season. It brings back fond memories of Christmas past! Because the Holiday Box Car Challenge continues through New Year's Day, I want to include it in the challenge.

For the second holiday season I am publishing a holiday box car challenge for all of us train lovers to enjoy. All one needs to participate is a locomotive, a box car or string of box cars and I will add a caboose, lol. Then run your box car train. You will have successfully completed the challenge and can say to yourself or out loud, "Hey Bill B., I did it!" If you want to take the challenge a...

The Trainapalooza event was the brainchild of O gauge train enthusiast and UA-cam creator Jason Stuckert four years ago. Since that time the Detroit 3Railers Train Club of which Jason is a member has become increasingly more involved in helping to host the annual events. This year the event featured home layout tours of seven members of the Detroit 3Railers. In this video I share some of my exp...

Beautiful 👍 nice purchase
Very nice addition bill sure wish i could move that fast 😂
Hey, Brandon, thank you! Just give it time, Brandon. Look at it this way, you have a 4014 Big Boy that you can enjoy! Take care! Bill
@ oh i was meaning the unboxing part when it fast forwarded i was meaning i wish i could move that fast sorry i didnt make that more clear
@ Oh, yes, Brandon, I just misunderstood. For the unboxing segment I sped up the video x20. Have a good night! Bill
@ oh ok 🤣 yeah if i could move that fast myself id be the flash 🤣 but i record with my iphone and when i unboxed my VL big boy from train world i sped up that part but it just went so far maybe 2x speed and have a good night as well bill prayers still up for you my friend 👍
Beautiful locomotive Bill! 👍
Nice Geep Bill, the O M & S crews will love her
Good afternoon, Tim! Yes, I believe you are right, and I bet we'll be seeing more of it in the future. Bill
She’s a beaut! Seems like 2015/2016 were good years for Lionel. Some of my favs I’ve found are from those catalogs
@@Dadified86 Hi, Mike! Yes, as a fan of both the GP9 and the Southern Rwy. I have been keeping an eye out for a nice one. When it was originally offered I had a much larger railroad and modeled three of the eastern roads during the early transition era. Steam was still king. So, I passed on it. Those were good catalogs! Bill
Looks Great Bill....it should fit right in on your layout.
Hey, Rick, it is so good to hear from you! It is a great looking locomotive. I'm a fan of the Southern Rwy. and the Southern's tuxedo livery is a favorite of mine. I had been watching out for one of these geeps for a good while. I had a heart attack just about a month ago, but I am still here and honestly am doing pretty good, I think, lol. You know that last phase plan of the OM&S we developed a year or two ago. I have not said much on the channel, but since my heart attack I think, I may move it to the top of the to do list. Its time may soon be here. Rick, I hope you are doing well. Take care now! Bill
Sweet looking locomotive Bill! 🚂😎
Hi, Brian, thank you! I am a fan of the Southern Rwy., and its tuxedo livery is a favorite of mine. Take care now! Bill
Very nice Bill, great looking and sounding locomotive.
Hey, Joey, thank you! I do love the Southern Rwy's tuxedo livery and GP7/9's. I hope you are doing well. Bill
Awesome engine Bill. You were lucky to find it.
Wow that looks awesome! That’s for sharing and I hope you are feeling better!!!
Hey, Chris, good afternoon! I am feeling better and slowly getting back into the swing of things. Yah, I agree with you. My favorite diesel locomotives are GP7/9's and the Southern tuxedo livery has always been a favorite. Take care now! Bill
Bo that's a good-looking engine !
Hi, Paul, thank you for your comment! I agree, it is a good-looking engine. The Southern Railway's tuxedo livery is one of my favorites. Bo/Bill
Fantastic Bill.! BIG 👍🏻
Hi, Mark, thank you! The Southern Railway is a favorite of mine and you know I love those GP7/9's. I hope you are getting along well! Do take care and I will watch for your videos! Bill
@@ozarkmidlandsouthernrailway My first CC Locomotive is a Southern Steamer along with my first scale Caboose. Funny at the time the Caboose from eNay was way bigger than I thought it would be and did not fit through my tunnel. The blinking EOT light did not work either and I was not happy so it sat on my desk for a year. Now that I upgraded it to LED and the EOT light works It's one of my favorites as well. I'm doing pretty well after a month of moving. I've been in the new house 3 weeks and am still getting orgainized. I have all the train boards out of storage from my Mom's basement layout and am getting ready to work on a video. You have been a long time good friend of mine out here in UA-cam land. Very Glad you are doing well.! Thanks
@ I am glad you are moved in and are able to start getting things organized the way you want. I am sure that will take a little while. It must feel good to be in your own home now. I will look forward to your next video. Bill
Beautiful Bill!
@@larken24 Hey, Lark, hope you are doing well. It a very nice geep and I feel lucky to have found one in such fantastic condition. I am sure it will get a lot of track time on the OM&S. Bill
That's a great looking and sounding locomotive Bill! 👍
Hey, John, good morning. Those early prototype geeps have always been a favorite of mine. Lionel has always done a fantastic job with their legacy GP units and this one is no exception. Thank you, John! Have a great week! Bill
@@ozarkmidlandsouthernrailway You too Bill! The first generation geeps have been my favorite, ever since I received a Lionel Burlington GP7 for Christmas in 1955. 😊
@@johnlazar7582 Oh, yes, that is how it all starts, lol! Bill
Very nice.
Hi, Ken! Good morning and thank you! I feel very lucky to have found this one in such great condition. Bill
Nice unit Bill. It could be paired with the other Southern unit that you have from the set. You're right, you can never have enough geeps.
Ha, ha, yes, that's right. One cannot have to many geeps! Good morning, Dave, and thank you! You are also absolutely right about my now being able to pair the GP7 and this GP9 together. I bet one day you will see that in a video, lol! Thanks, Dave! Bill
@@ozarkmidlandsouthernrailway I'll look out for that video. Hope you are doing well and feeling better and better everyday.
@@luvindemtrainsI appreciate that Dave!
I need to get one of those. 👍❤️
Good morning, Marx-109, and thank you! The Lionel GP9's in the Southern Rwy. livery are getting pretty hard to find, but this one proves they are out there. Bill
@ozarkmidlandsouthernrailway I will be on the lookout. 👍
Awesome engine Bill!
Hey, good morning, Sid, and thank you! Well, if anybody knows an awesome engine, it would be you. I hope you are doing well. I saw all of the progress you are making on your layout's scenery. Keep up the great work. I'm thinking perhaps it is time you add a diesel to your beautiful fleet of steamers, lol! I passed on this Southern GP9 back in 2015 as I was focused then on the B&O, Pennsy, and NYC. I think now this one will serve the OM&S well. Bill
Can't go wrong with a high nose! - Jason
I agree, Jason! Good morning, I hope you and yours are doing well! You have really been making some great progress on your railroad. You serve as an inspiration! Bill
Awesome 👌
Good morning, Steve, and thank you! I feel lucky to have found one in such great shape. You know what they say I guess is true, "One cannot have to many geeps!" Bill
my fav livery
Thank you, Andrew, and good morning! The Southern's tuxedo livery is one of my favorites as well! Bill
@ I grew up near southern tracks and saw them all the time when they ran those colors.
@@andrewmunczenski3632Very cool, Andrew. I would have loved that. Bill
Nice find Bill!
Hey, Mike, good morning! I do feel lucky to have found this one in such great condition (NIB). One cannot have to many geeps, especially when one's railroad has O36 curves, lol! Bill
Great purchase Bill.
Hey, Art, good morning and thank you! I really feel lucky to have found this one NIB. Bill
I love it, Bill! Fits in perfectly on the OM&S!
Good morning, Matt, yes, I agree. I think it will serve well on the OM&S! Thank you! Bill
Nice 👍
Good morning, jessenoklahoma, thank you! Bill
Very, very nice! Congratulations.
Hi, fredogden936, thank you! The locomotive is very special to me as it reminds me of my former railroad. It cannot run on the OM&S due to its O36 curves, but I had the opportunity to run it on my friend's layout during a Trainapalooza event a couple years ago. Here is a "short" I made of the "Big Six" in operation on JD Stucks' railroad. Thanks again! Bill B.
awesome! what percentage grade is your climb? train seemed to climb effortlessly! thanks
@@SkiB84 Hi, Ski884, thank you! The grades are 4.6 and 4.8 degrees. The passenger train is being pulled by an A-B -A set. The A units are both powered so there are four motors powering the train up the grade seen in the video. Thanks again! Bill
@@ozarkmidlandsouthernrailway I am going to assume you meant 4.6 and 4.8 percent and not degrees so correct me if i am wrong. which would be more than the recommended 3 percent max that i hear everywhere but with the multiple motors sharing the work made that thing climb effortlessly! very cool.
