Undertale - Waterfall (Sin City Remix)

There are few games as small and strange as Undertale that I remember having as much hype surrounding them. When the game came out it seemed like an instant phenomenon that everyone in the gaming space was talking about.
A few years after it came out, I tried playing the game on GamePass and, regrettably, it failed to fully get a hold on me. So after a few hours of getting increasingly frustrated, I put down the controller and decided to look up some videos on UA-cam and discovered what a wild, emotional journey you're able to go on through the game.
Regardless of my enjoyment playing it, I was still astounded to learn that Undertale was conceived and developed largely (if not in some ways entirely) by one person who went by the handle TobyFox. In addition, I discovered that he single-handedly composed the entire score for the game, which would already stand alone as an achievement of incredible breadth and quality on its own.
I listened to the Undertale soundtrack separately, which had many fantastic pieces on it. I came across a few tracks that I might cover, but I ended up choosing the strange, melancholy "Waterfall" theme as inspiration for this Sin City remix.
For the visuals accompanying the music, I thought that some of my footage of the massive observation wheel off the strip in Vegas called the "High Roller" would fit nicely. There's something imposing and almost other-worldly about the attraction as viewed from the ground. And the sights you see as you ascend to the top of the ride and see Sin City from on high before returning slowly back to the earth felt like they fit well with some of the sounds and feelings in the finished remix.

This is such a good remix of a great song. It's definetly the best Hyrule Castle remix I've heard, and as there's no smash bros Hyrule Castle remix, this is definetive Hyrule Castle remix. The part at 1:52 sounds so great, and its my favorite part of the song, as it sounds like the deeper, more evil parts of the dungeon. You really delivered on this one. Great job!

Might actually be my least favorite track in Red/Blue... but you captured that eerie/discomforting feeling of this track SO well. If this were used as the track for Lavender Town in an official Gen1 remake, I wouldn't bat an eye... but I would probably feel like the rest of the soundtrack just wasn't quite on the same level.
It's SUCH a creepy, unnerving track! I hated and loved it for that reason. It just always sounds... wrong. But it was an interesting challenge to try musically and I think the creepy visuals of the video helped heighten the mood. I'll definitely have more Pokemon tracks in mind for the future!

This remix is fire! 🔥 Megaman 2 is my favourite because it was the first megaman game I ever played. My dad first showed me it when I was 7 and I have loved Megaman sense.
