- === About this Song ===
This is one of those songs that I don't believe to be particularly well-known or beloved, but it has still always been a special song for me.
I remember the first time I heard this music. It was a snowy day in the late winter of 1994 and I had just finished Sonic 3 on the 25" CRT TV we had in the den of the house I grew up in. There was a short cut scene, and then this truly epic song started playing along with the staff roll.
This song captured so perfectly the feeling of having concluded an adventure with Sonic. It was mechanical, upbeat, chaotic, but also epic, bittersweet, and a little melancholy as well. Even with just the Genesis sound chip it still sounded so grand and really felt like it summed up the whole experience of completing the game perfectly.
It wasn't till years later that I learned of the involvement of Michael Jackson in the game's soundtrack and realized the distinct parallels between the ending theme and Jackson's own hauntingly beautiful track "Stranger in Moscow." It had become one of my favorite MJ tracks, and when I heard the two tracks side by side, the similarities hit me like a brick wall!
This track ended up having a life of it's own as I started creating the remix. It was more challenging than some of my more straightforward arrangements in that it consists mostly of a never-ending arpeggio and a prominent string/pad lead, but by the end I think I was able to infuse the remix with a mix of energy and emotion that made the original such a wonderful, emotional song for me. The song retains an almost inspirational quality, and I hope that listeners can get a sense of adventure and personal inspiration while listening to it as well.

one of my favorite ending themes in gaming and boy howdy did you do it justice!
Honestly, this song (along with the theme of Sky Sanctuary Zone) simply stuck with me as *the* songs of Sonic 3, as if they are great finishing songs to one of the best Sonic platformers. Your remix brought an energetic yet mellow vibe to the song that signifies the closure of an 2D platformer era. Well done, MkVaff. Glad to see you're still making remixes, as I only knew your name because of older OCRemix arrangements. 👏👏👏

As a kid, I couldn't figure out how to get through Carnival Night Act 2 so I didn't get to experience this until way later. It's still a bop.
Some of those sections were a real pain, especially all the stuff that made you bounce all over the place!
