    What is the difference between the Diesel product and the AGO product? as far as I understand they are interchangeable terms

      Diesel fuel is a general term that includes various fuel types used in diesel engines, including AGO. Meanwhile, AGO refers to a specific type of diesel fuel mainly used in automotive applications. You can see in this simulation that a major difference is sulfur content. AGO generally has a higher sulfur content than other diesel fuels. I hope this helps you.

    Dear Dr.Zaman, Thank you for the video, it's very helpful. What should we do if an equipment does not exist in the APEA library? In my case, I am simulating an electrolysis process and I don't know how to include the electrolyzer in the economic alnalysis.

      I am glad it is helpful. To answer your question, you can design equipment in HYSYS, choose a similar unit in the APEA library to the one you need, and provide an engineering design allowance of 10% (a recommended value for a new process in the APEA manual) design changes. If your process is unique and unproven, the engineering design allowance is 15%. Please read the APEA manual; if you do not have it or cannot find it, email me, and I will share it. I hope this helps.

    Hi, thanks for your video. normally a stream contains multiple components (reactor effluent), how to define price of each component in that case as aspen offers to define stream price only!

      You cannot define the prices of each component in a stream due to obvious reasons. What I would do is compute process economics based on each individual component. That way, you can see which component has the highest/lowest associated cost.

I put a component separator at the reactor downstream which separates all the components in multiple streams. Then I calculated the cost of each stream which is basically the component cost. Is this the correct way or is there any better way to calculate the component costs? Thanks

    Thank you very much for the video, your series of videos is truly excellent. Please note that when you added the additional trays to the column, you did not readjust their efficiency to 75%. Thus you have a top product benzene composition of 95%, not 97%. I had to go to 24 trays to get 97% benzene in the distillate.

I have a question though: for the weather example, if we have "observations" for the probability of raining or not given today is a cloudy day, could we define P(Cloud) as the prior probability and P(Could|Rain) as the posterior probability? To ask it in a more general way, does the definition of prior/posterior probability depend on the nature of the problem or the information/observation we are given?

I am not sure what you mean by the nature of the problem, but yes, posterior probability is based on new information we have about the system. I am unsure if this answers your question, but that is the best I could understand your question.

      I don't know what the issue is with your simulation until I look at that. Please ensure your degree of freedom is zero.

If I want to edit the excell spreadsheet (in this case i want to add some project cost componen e.g. offsite facilities CAPEX or add VAT), will the result generate automatically ( in this case for NPV, IRR)? I assume that excell spreadsheets are linked function.

    Hello Sir, Your videos are really great; I have much appreciation and a lot of respect for you. I am learning GeNie by using your video. My data set contains both discrete and continuous variables at the same time. When I try to run my model using a PC algorithm, it says it does not support it. Can you please guide me here?

      Thank you. I am glad to know it is helpful for you. Yes, you are right. GeNie does not support a mixture of discrete and continuous variables. What you can do is discretize your continuous variables, and in that way, GenNie can run the algorithm or you may use other software such as BayesFusion or AgenaRisk. I hope this helps.

    It's ok thx, but when the level reaches the SP value the level stabilizes because the LIC is manipulating the water outlet valve , it would have been nice that you showed also the water valve; And also, as you set the tank level at 0% at the start you should have set the outlet water valve at 0% at the start, should have been more realistic.
