  • This tutorial explains how to perform process simulation and optimization in Aspen HYSYS using an example of a distillation unit. The process optimization method is equally applicable to optimize other process units in a chemical and process industry, including oil and gas facilities.

Hello Dr. Sajid.... I'm having experience in modelling with PRO-II But after seeing ur video I'm sure I can model in hysys also.... Thanks for beautiful explanation.....

Hey, please how can you determine a feed cost, for example in a glycol regeneration process how can you determine the cost of rich glycol( feed cost) and also the heating and cooling cost of a process

There are two sources of this cost data: Vendor and literature. Vendor data is continuously updated with market values. If you are using literature data, please ensure that you have updated data; if some previous year's information is available, you will need to add time value for money. You can also ask HYSYS to provide you ballpark numbers. I hope this helps.

Can we get graphs of this optimization problem in Aspen?

Yes, you can. Look at the results, and there it will give you an option to export data/graphs. You can choose either way. I hope this helps.

Thanks for your feedback. There are more videos on the channel unless you suggest a particular video. You can have a look at them and ask me if any questions.
