    thank you very much Dr. Sajid! Can you please explain more why the Hot Pump Around must have the same composition as the feed to the heat exchanger's shell side? couldn't it just be steam?

    • @drzamansajid
      @drzamansajid  Рік тому +2

      Thank you for your feedback. I am glad this is helpful. To your question, we aim to save energy (and ultimately the energy cost) in the system. The hot pump around the stream is nothing, just the raw crude stream, but at different operating conditions. After passing through a heat exchanger, a hot pump around the stream transfers its energy to the stream containing raw crude and water, and a cold pump around stream is returned back as (cold) raw crude into the system. I hope this clarifies.

    Thanks for the video ! when u add the add the water stream at the begining the composition is given in mole fraction ? shouldn't it be given in mass fraction as mass flow rate is given?

    Hi, I want to ask
    If you want to compare the design results with actual data for the desalter tool, what do you need to pay attention to?
    and is it possible to find out the results of the reduced salt content in this hysys design?

      You will need to watch and compare critical parameters.

    Dr. Sajid....how to create a pseudo stream in hysis to know the net flowrate on any theoretical stage???

    • @drzamansajid
      @drzamansajid  Рік тому

      You need to select hypothetical components and then click on Method. There are two options (Create and edit hypos and Create a batch of hypos). You can choose any one of them. Let's choose the second one. Then specify the range of boiling points and click on Generate Hypos. HYSYS will generate all pseudo components within the boiling range you entered. You can add all into your component list unless you know which ones you need. You can also double-click on the name of pseudo components to see details. It will allow you to enter any further information about the pseudo component if you have any. I hope this helps.

    Hello Dr. Zaman, first of all thank you for your valuable video. I have a question that if I want to create a new simulation or rescale this simulation to a different crude oil flow rate, how do I decide the side draws flow rates and pump around rates?

    hello dr, i'm trying to do the simulation just like what you do But the iterations take forever. I wonder why, because when it comes to distillation, it always turns like that.

    • @drzamansajid
      @drzamansajid  Рік тому

      That's because you have the system over-specified. Just make sure you have DOF = 0 before running the simulation. I hope this helps.

    What is the difference between the Diesel product and the AGO product? as far as I understand they are interchangeable terms

    • @drzamansajid
      @drzamansajid  3 місяці тому +1

      Diesel fuel is a general term that includes various fuel types used in diesel engines, including AGO. Meanwhile, AGO refers to a specific type of diesel fuel mainly used in automotive applications. You can see in this simulation that a major difference is sulfur content. AGO generally has a higher sulfur content than other diesel fuels. I hope this helps you.
