Reading the comments of these videos just makes me cry so much.😭😭 This is probably one of the few videos I've seen people finally giving Liam the attention he deserves. People will automatically assume their favs or the ones that sounds the best based of tone and popularity is the best when it's not. Liam is no doubt 1D's best vocalists. He always has been but he never got attention due to the other members being more popularity. Liam has it all. Better technique, range, stability...everything. He's just that good. There's a reason his vocal tier is B+ to A. There's one thing people need to understand is that being able to hit highnotes doesn't make you a great vocalist. It just shows you have good skills in the upper range. It's the same with tone. You may sound pleasing to the ear but in reality, having a good tone can fool many fans into thinking their good when their skills is not up to par. Tone is the only thing saving them. When you compare techniques and other ranges, they fall short but the only reason why people rank them so high is due to popularity. It's not a hate comment, but it's the truth

This explains why I find Liam the most pleasant to listen to. And why I sometimes can't even listen to Harry and absolutely refuse to watch him sing. I hope he's found a proper vocal coach by now, as this video is five years old. I also hope Liam finds himself musically, he's so talented ❤

I don't think this analysis is fair to Louis. When he was in 1D his voice never even got show it's full potential , so it's unfair to judge it from that. This video was posted before any of Louis' solo albums were released , he didn't showcase his awesome vocals in any solo work before the albums cuz he was still finding his sound. The albums show him doing falsetto which you said he can't do, he also hit high notes with no strain. He just was never given the falsetto parts in 1D . Also, you cant just claim that his voice cracks are unintentional, cuz they are intentional. It's part of his individuality and the key to his recognizable voice. He's got the most distinctive and soothing voice at the same time and we always loved the voice cracks he did in 1D. One thing i would say though is they did have a vocal coach of their own and if Louis couldn't do a falsetto or strained himself and his voice cracked then she would've helped him. He had the capability to do that but just never got the chance to. He may not be able to hit really high notes like Liam or Zayn but he can still hit high notes and is a trained professional singer who knows what hes doing. It's very normal to not do your best every time you perform and sometimes he did strain and as humans we're all meant to but not always. Please don't attack me on this though it's just my opinion and what i think.

I can safely say five years later that all of them have improved a lot of their technique. There is still a lot that can be fixed but its definitely much better.

It’s not true that she doesn’t have a whistle register! She doesn’t use it much but if you listen to her unreleased song “eyes on you” you can hear the whistle register throughout the chorus!

I agree with most of this. Yes, Harry needs to work on his technique (and he has) but him raising his eyebrows and creasing his forehead as mentioned at 11:38 will *not necessarily* cause his voice to deteriorate. (It could lead him to push it father than what is best, but that isn’t directly caused by raising the eyebrows.) 11:35 I also don’t think he necessarily looks like he’s in pain when he does his head voice. I think that sometimes he just moves his mouth in a certain way out of habit to mentally get the note if that makes sense. Like raising your eyebrows to imagine you are coming at the note from above is a technique to help you not go flat. I wonder if he does that in a sense with his mouth when singing in his head voice (especially when he has a long phrase of very close notes such as 11:22). Again, I agree with everything else you said. I really hope Harry and Louis continue to work on their voices so that they can stay healthy as they grow as artists. Thanks for the great review!

The fact that if Harry continues straining his voice like that he might damage it completely is so concerning and it makes me want to teleport him to me right now just so that I can tell him to take it easy with his voice lol.
