    Here we go attacking women for existing. Or saying our hair defines everything about us. Do you have friends? AMERICAN Blk Women already have enough against us. WE DONT NEED to attack each other over what WE want. Especially from Africa where I see constantly online and from friends that american blk people are NOT even liked over in africa.

    It’s sad when you can’t even go to elders in your family to get natural hair advice because everyone is either wear wig, relaxed or a straight natural.

    I think it’s definitely a preference and how you want to wear your hair. Y’all need to STOP bullying black women into wearing natural hair! I’m natural but as soon as my hair grows out more I’m going back to relaxing my hair. Wear your hair the way you want to wear it. Stop listening to other people when it’s your hair! Find the best hair care routine for you! And natural hair for me has been horrible but I don’t knock it for others. And guess what you get cancer from Everything so live your life!

    I’m so glad I found your channel. I’ve been relaxed and natural off and on for my entire life and I’m 32! I just recently did a big chop to finally get rid of my damaged, relaxed hair and start over. I usually wait until I have more length but this time, for some reason I was just over it. My hair looks healthy again, short (and that’s okay) but healthy and after watching your videos I’m learning to appreciate my natural hair again. I’ve always seen wigs as an accessory but I never truly just sat down and took time to appreciate my own hair for what it is. I’m happy to be starting this journey again and I’m glad I’m able to watch your videos during this process. Also girl, you are hilarious 🤣

    That first girl just gave up! I’m black but my hair isn’t 4c, more like 3c/4a, but I used to struggle to learn my hair too. Yk what I did? I watched UA-cam, Instagram,etc. I looked up products, styles, and put in that work to do my hair. Do I have to wake up an hour before leaving for work in order to do my hair? Yes. Do I have arm pains and still cry at times? Yes. But I didn’t give up, while she was upset I thought of multiple styles she could do. We literally just have to learn our hair and do what’s best for it in order to have healthy beautiful hair. And that’s really for everyone but ESPECIALLY for us.

    We were taught by our own parents to hate our hair. I went natural in my early 20s and my grandmother often expressed distaste for it out loud. I mentioned her having pictures in afros and she said that was different and different time. I remember stressing over my roots with my fast growing hair with relaxers until it made me have bald spots at 20. I am 20 years natural and now it is trendy but clearly still unloved.

  • @keshonafletcher1439
    @keshonafletcher1439 2 дні тому

    I agree with most of this video, but I am conflicted when it comes to big afros in the workplace. At the end of the day, a big afro is just long natural hair that was left down. If it was generally expected for long hair to be pulled back or styled that's one thing, but that isn't the case. It can come off as a more casual look, depending on the rest of the outfit, styling, and accessories, but if people of other races are not expected to pull back their long locks, we should also be exempt from that same expectation. Long hair in general is very eye catching regardless of race but that's because most people find or assume long hair to be hard to manage. I personally think everyone should be able to wear their hair however they want for any job that isn't in front of a camera, upper-level leadership, or requiring rigorous movement, maybe front desk as well. I personally would love to see some of the less formal styles shown in this video to be worn in office settings. For me, how you choose to style and accessorize the rest of your look matters more than the hairstyle. Also, the amount of yt people who definitely looked like they rolled out of bed at my last corporate job, from entry level to upper management, was appalling in comparison to any person of color in the same or similar position. That never sat right with me. Yt people, especially women, do have standards for work appearance, but I find they are rarely held to it as harshly once they actually get the job. They only have to play that role long enough to be accepted, while women of color are not allowed to stop the performance of it all. All that being said I did assume that reporter was having a bad hair day but over time I have trained myself to care more about people's words and actions than their appearance both in and outside of work. I can acknowledge that most people don't do that, and it is something to keep in mind, at least for work appearances. That's another reason why I'm looking for a wfh job, so I can dress exactly as I want to most days without worrying about any of that superficial stuff.

    This younger generation is just weird...unkempt hair is *never* a good look. We love to compare everything with European standards, even saying that a neat and polished look is a European standard. Hence these women try look messy, in order not to look like a _European standard!_ This is utterly ridiculous and dumb. Black women who talk like that cannot be taken seriously! Black women are hypocrites when they complain about racism when it comes to their natural hair. Let's start changing ourselves first 😐

    These wigs are carrying demons. See it and don’t unsee it. Wigs become ridiculous when u realize the awful ways they harvest this evil hair. Covering your crown with another persons demons while letting said demons direct brain access. Wigs are a curse to black woman really think about this.
