Muzz's Muncher on Steroids
Переглядів 5262 роки тому
Using the 12.5 inch Muzz's Muncher to crush Quartz to powder, and run it through the Highbanker directly underneath the Crusher. Water is added to the rocks as they enter the top of the crusher by a small 12 volt Bilge Pump to keep dust down and to pre-wet the crushed rock before entering the Highbanker. The material used was simply loose quartz laying around in the bush, not from any specific ...
Camper Build, a Mobile Tiny House

Tired of camping in a Tent when you go camping, prospecting, hunting etc? I am, so I built myself a little camper. In this Video I show how I built it and then go away in it. It is possible to even live in it! The trailer is 7'x4' and the slide-on camper is 8'x4' at the base and widens out to 8'x6' above the trailer. The height of the slide-on camper with roof lowered is 5 feet, consisting of 1...

Some simple modifications I made to my 12 inch Gold Rat Highbanker. - Clay Claw - Spray Bar (1.5" Plumbing) - Crash Pad - Bubble and turbulence reducing flap - Big Rock as a reverse riffle All these work very well and have vastly increased my Gold capture results. Thanks are given to particular people at the end of the video. You can see me using this highbanker in terribly muddy conditions her...
My Gold Rat 12 inch Highbanker modifications
Переглядів 2,5 тис.5 років тому
I added a Clay Claw and Spray Bar setup to my 12" Gold Rat Highbanker. The concept of the Spray bar comes from You Tuber 'Goldluck Victoria'. I have also recently added a Reverse Riffle in the lower Crash Zone. The reverse riffle is a large rock and it works great. Simple and effective.

Gold Rocker Box and saving gold losses

In this video I show how I set up my Rocker Box with a Gold Pan at the bottom to catch any gold that makes its way through the Rocker Box and would normally be lost back to the creek. It wasn't a very productive day because the cold wind cut our time shorter than usual. But it was still fun being out there. I know it’s an old video and not sure if you’re on here still but I am gonna tackle this today on my 93 FLSTC. Might be a dumb question but do I need to drain the oil before doing this? Didn’t seem like you did since you put it back together and fired it up and never mentioned draining.
Do you have a part number for the seal?
You will probably find that it is Part Number 83162-51 Camshaft Oil Seal for HD 1970-98
Love the LAMBorgini well done Geoff Gracie.
Thanks for the widsom! 🤘🫡ride safe!
All good 👍
Love the sluice buddy, building mine right know and im modeling it verry simillar to yours, cheers🍻
Thanks Ken very helpful
A pleasure. 👍
Thanks for posting
Cheers 👍
Thans Ken...i think i need to do this job. Just bought a FXR evo from 1990. Just degreased the engine and went for a test ride. I discovered the leak its comming from the nose cone.
Cheers Indo. If it's a very minor leak you'll be OK for a few hundred miles before it makes a huge mess or the oil level gets a bit too low. But best to fix it as soon as possible. Glad to help 👍
@@Ken_James_SV If i don't fix it the engine will be covered in oil. Making a big mess on my back yard and upsetting my wife lol.
@@Indobiker61 - Sounds like you need to do it right now!
I got parts today but the seal had to be ordered..
Hi mate where do I get the clay breaker from for the box cheers
You have to make it yourself, or get someone with a welder to make it for you. They aren't commercially available.
@@Ken_James_SV too easy I’m happy to weld it. What flat steel Do I need and bars like urs
@@Blazinupytb - I used 20mm x 3mm flat mild steel for the frame and 1/4 inch mild steel round for the bars. To get the shape right I made a cardboard mock-up of the frame first, and when I was happy with the shape I bent the flat steel bar to match. Good luck with it 👍
@@Ken_James_SV thanks mate
Good show and a good kit. The Clay Claw would have some good use in certain areas. Heavy pans!
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but can we keep the lenses in front of the camera lens to do the same?
No, a Focal reducer has to go BETWEEN a lens (usually a Telescope) and the Camera.
Does this apply to early model sportsters… 91 for instance.
Sorry Sean but I'm not familiar with Sportsters, only Big Twins. Pop the timing cover off and have a look. If you can see the seal under the timing plate you should be able to remove it.
Great video my friend u got a sub here thank u
Cheers mate.👍
I have the revolution 2 I’m not sure if it does the same thing. But for bright planets astrovid planetcam blows a way revolution 2
You will find that the Revolution 2 and the Astrovid Planet Cam share the same internal hardware. Check the specs.👍

Hey Ken good job are the good for working at home
Thanks Glenn. Back out bush again now but with a Minelab GPX6000. All Highbanking is done at home.
Thanks for the neat video. I like the rocker box deal.
Thank you 😊
Great job sir.The only thing i wanted to know what should be the length of frontal legs(smaller) from the ground????and similar the back legs length near crash????i guess proper slope plays a huge role capturing gold.similarly tell me what should be the length of legs of the feeding box???from the ground
Hi Sarwar, the legs can be any length you want. They are adjustable so you can set the sluice at your desired angle on sloping or flat ground. Many people set their sluice angle around 9 - 12 degrees, but I like mine at about 5 degrees. The top box angle depends on what you are feeding into it. Clay soils need a lower angle on the top box to give the clay material more time to break down. Sandy or gravelly material can be at a steep angle to clear the top box faster. The leg lengths don't really matter. I've seen people sit the unit on sloping ground with no legs.
@@Ken_James_SV appreciated sir,may be you have a sluice angle setter digital apparatus??? I don't have .therefore setting your sluice at 5 degree kindly measure for me both the frontal and legs near near the crash from the ground. These measurements will determine my 5 degree slope.

What makes this a " two tier " highbanker as distinct from a normal everyday highbanker ? I'm not spotting the difference - please help
I have no idea but if you go to the manufacturers website you will see that is what he calls it. His company website is Prospecting Supplies Australia. As far as I am concerned it's a normal highbanker, but if he wants to call it by another name, that's his thing.
@@Ken_James_SV sweet - I would have thought tier meant like rise in height. That's my next modification to my sluice
Thank you for the video, I really enjoyed your bloopers :D Love the rocker box. I think someone here in the States has plans to build one. I would like to try it. Your video made me chuckle so I subscribed. Have a great prospecting day!
Thanks for the sub. Many people build rocker boxes because they work well 👍 Glad you enjoyed the video 😀
Your doing it wrong 😂 only wrong thing is I’m not down there with you and you supplying me the special sauce 😊
LOL!!! Funny man Stu 😆
That’s awesome Ken your a man of many talents I remember you building your observatory, this one your ready for the zombie apocalypse 😂 Karen is very impressed as am I 👍👍👍
Thanks Stu and Kaz 😆👍
Muito bom bonito de mais 💯👏👏🤝👍
Thank you 😃
Cool. Not bad spot. I think I've got the same highbanker. And I like it. Works well for me anyway. I normally just hose the miners moss out first while it's still in the hb and let it flow down into a bucket. (Then usually take it out at the end for a final quick rinse and get underneath) Idk if it's the best or proper method haha but I find it easier. Good luck. 👍
Cheers Shredder. Do what works for you 👍
Wow! That’s awesome! I’ll take a piece :) great video my guy. New sub for sure!
Yeah, I wouldn't mind a few like it 😄 Thanks for the sub 👍

Hi Ken, The highbanker is working well, looks like if Jacob changes the angle it will flow better, all come with experience I guess. Subbed to your channel, I'll keep an eye out for your next video. Cheers, Pete
Thanks Pete, I appreciate your input 👍
Hi. I think it's a nice one for beginners and easy to use? Is it also suitable to use with a solar telescope like the Lunt 40 mm ? - ideal for simple liveview shots? Thanks for the tip!
Yes, I know people who use these cameras with Solar scopes like the Lunt. I have used mine on the Sun using a Glass White light Solar filter.
An awesome job Ken, now let's see the plans
Thanks Terry. LOL!!! There are no plans. I built it by visualising it in my head, and designed it as I went along. I have a habit of building things that way. Never with plans.
An enjoyable video esp. the bloopers.....from Nova Scotia Canada
Thanks Terry. Yeah, I still laugh at the bloopers myself LOL!!!
G'day Ken. I know I've missed heaps of fines while sluicing in a little creek off the beaten track. Gritty blue clay, like glue with small gold in it that would just roll out the sluice in little balls....even after some intensive classifying. I've just purchased the 12" Gold Rat because of your video, I am confident after doing your modifications my return will be much higher. Your a legend mate ! There's already folks out there posting you-tube videos claiming the mods as there own. Thanks again and happy hunting brother
Thank you Paul. You will really enjoy using the Gold Rat. I believe whoever designs a modification deserves the credit. That's why I credit them at the end as they deserve it. I just pass along their ideas 😆👍
what settings do you have it on?
Sorry, I can't honestly remember. I don't have this unit any more.
Great video! Thank you for your efforts.
Cheers Martin, I hope it helps you.
This camera is not HD. The sensor array is 720x 576p. So it is 576p which is not HD. The output from the camera is analog video in the PAL format. Aspect ratio 4x3.
Yep, you are correct. It's not HD. My mistake. The company website mentions their HD Hand controller to help operate the camera. I have accidentally added the 'HD' to the Camera specs, not the accessories specs. I have corrected it in the description.
I thought this tape interesting ua-cam.com/video/mya2cMDACKg/v-deo.html

Well done Jake, nice little nugget. Ken put longer handles on that dolly pot, I would hate to see Jake or you for that matter smash his fingers with that piece of rod like I did, and it is still not right and that was months ago, damaged a nerve I think. Cheers Rob
Thanks Rob, he had handles on it but he cut them off! Kids! what can you do with them? 🤣
@@Ken_James_SV Weld them back on haha. I was holding my pot like Jake was with fingers around the top, brought the rod down and practically sheared the top off my finger.
Recheck All that Rock with your detector and pan out all of it crush it up fine and pan the material there will be more gold
He does Bennett. Jake will be running it through his Muzz's Muncher rock crusher and through his clean up sluice. He does this regularly and it will be added to the pile of other rocks to crush if he doesn't get it done later today 👍
Thats some high grade material you found! Great detecting. Keep up the good work

I wish there was some wireless control option to substitute for the wired UTC Controller to access the OSD. Any ideas? DVR?
G'day Sam, I don't know of any wireless solutions for this particular camera. The DVR for this model isn't wireless.
@@Ken_James_SV Thanks Ken. Yep I agree there doesn't appear to be a wireless option except for maybe a pricey regular security camera DVR with coaxial control. Still a great camera though even with the cabling. I've really enjoyed the detail looking at the Orion Nebula and other few things I've been able to see so far with it on my 8SE.
