There’s also the fact that you can’t target things behind total cover, which a persons heart also is.
I would go monk as either a mercy, shadow, or open hand. This would give your bite better damage and depending on your dm allow you to use dexterity. With spider walk at 3rd and grappler feat at 4th, you can grab enemies with bonus action attack, run up the side of structure, do a bite then drop them. You can also do kensei for bonus damage at 6th and 11th levels, but most of the 3rd level features don't work with the bite.
Sorry, I might missed it. Where do you get weapon mastery from?
Action surge was nerfed to no longer affecting spells in 2024. No more double casting with it
I'm pretty sure you grossly misunderstood Nick and how it interacts with other weapons. The only weapons with the Nick property are the Dagger, Sickle, Light Hammer, and Scimitar. You must have the weapon mastery _of that weapon_ in order to use its mastery. It cannot be put onto a different weapon, and especially not a Longsword, which has a completely different mastery (Sap, iirc). While the Dual Wielder feat would allow you to make your bonus action attack with something other than a Light weapon, it is not the Nick attack. You would still need a Light Weapon with the Nick property in order to make its Nick attack. Furthermore, you can still only Sneak Attack with a Finesse Weapon. This limits your Nick options to Dagger or Scimitar. You'll either need an ally within 5 feet of your target, or advantage on your attack. The easiest way to do this would be with your other weapon mastery, the Shortsword and its Vex property. I think your best bet for this weird combo would be to disregard Shillelagh entirely, though you can still use it. The Nick attack does _not_ require you to make its attack immediately after your initial attack. So, take the Nick mastery with your Dagger, Vex with your Shortsword. Because the Valor Bard also says you can replace _one of_ your attacks with a cantrip, you can start with True Strike, though you probably shouldn't. This process requires the stupid weapon juggling mechanic that I hate, but I'm pretty sure it goes: * Shortsword -> Attack -> Vex * Club (Shillelagh) -> Light property BA attack (with Advantage) _[This is the only attack you could use the Longsword for realistically]_ * *_Stow Club, draw Dagger_* * Shortsword -> True Strike -> Vex (which does not have a use limitation per turn) * Dagger -> Nick attack -> Sneak Attack
Do you have a written build guide by chance? Would love to make this character for my next campaign!
Can you do a video on the most optimised way to draw aggro? After all, what's the point of being tanky if the monsters you fight can just ignore you. I've always had the idea that a cleric with Spirit Guardians is the best at this role because of the combination of being in the front, good AC, decent HP, CC, and damage incentivizing all the mooks to try to focus you but I've never looked too deeply into it.
Fighter strongest 2024 ta !
1 ranger 5 monk allows for 5 attacks a turn at level 6
You can actually achieve 44 ac as a paladin (2014) without multiclassing. You need plus 3 plate armour for 21, plus 3 shield for 26, warfoged and defense for 28, cloak and ring of protection for 30, defender for 33, shield of faith for 35, potion of speed for 37, ceremony for 39 and finally shield (magic initiate) for 44.
hmm. surprised didnt take 2 levels grave cleric. just make em vulnerable and action surge
All spell effects go away when concentration ends...
can you concentrate an minor elementals and cast eldrich blast?
Hey I need help so I am playing a reborn in a dnd campaign now I have the feat cartomancer and 1 of its main abilities is after a long rest i can embue a card with a spell of a casting time of 1 action and the spell will stay in the card for 8 hours or if I use it no here me out a reborn only needs 4 hours of sleep for a long rest and there's nothing in the rules saying I can't take 2 long rest so can I sleep for 4 hours wake up embue the card then sleep for 4 more hours and embue a second card
Hey I love you videos, been here since the beginning, but I thought maybe try adding some music in the background as sometimes it can be hard to follow as there is a lot of talking. Just a suggestion
i summon the elemental darkness
Concentration is very clear. If you loose concentration the effects of the spell end, full stop. Do not pass go, do not collect extra duration. Literally just read Concentration and it debunks this whole thing.
Could you make the highest damage possible for a monk in one turn. You could title it “The strongest bonk”.
Unfortunately, the durability character still suffers from the fatal flaw all "tanks" in 5e experience... "Yeah, I'm just gonna attack this other guy who's way easier to hit." Within reason of course, hordes of zombies shouldn't have the mental capacity to know that hitting you is a fruitless endeavor but when it comes to more intelligent and observant foes...
Giant vs Bugbear?
Part 2 please!
You could use Eldritch Adept to get Agonizing Blast on True Strike
If you’re a hunter ranger with Hordebreaker and weapon mastery in the scimitar and greataxe, you can make 5 attacks on one target and one attack on another within 5 feet of the first. Start with the Greataxe, make one attack against your main target, then make your Hordebreaker attack against a different enemy within 5 feet of them. Cleave from the Hordebreaker attack into your primary target, then stow the greataxe. Draw and attack with one scimitar, draw and Nick attack with another scimitar, then BA attack with one of the scimitars again. If you cast hunter’s mark on round 1, that’s an extra 4d6 damage on this combo in exchange for one scimitar attack. For extra spice, use light hammers instead of scimitars and take the crusher feat to move people into position for cleaving, or take a fighter dip and take weapon mastery with the Pike or Warhammer for Push to position people for cleaving. Also use a halberd instead of a greataxe to make it more likely you’ll have a valid cleaving target.
You have a few mistakes in your Video. Let me explain: By taking Dual Wielder and Weapon Master Feats you lose a TON of utility. You'd better start on your first level with Fighter and at level two you start investing into Bard and later on you tap into Warlock for 1-5 levels. Now you have proficiency in light, medium and heavy Armor as well as proficiency with simple and martial weapons right from the start! With Fighter Lv1 you can get the mastery with THREE Weapons instead of only ONE Weapon and also important you have proficiency on CON saving throws helping your concentration on CME. (And some other stuff like a fighting style and a STR saving throw at well...) Your "Light Property" Attack is executed as a Bonus Action from the beginning, you don't need the Dual Wielder Feat at all because of Fighter Level1. Instead of Dual Wielder and Weapon Master Feat consider War Caster and Spell Sniper! When you Attack with your Melee Weapons (the enemy is within 5ft of you) - your eldritch blast is cast at disadvantage. So take Spell Sniper to cast without disadvantage in Melee Combat. And Take War Caster to have Advantage on CON Saving throws to maintain concentration. Also War Caster let you cast a spell (Eldritch Blast) as an opportunity attack if the enemy leaves your reach. (e.g. if an ally casts dissonant whispers). So you theoretically could make 3 Melee hits + 8 Eldritch blasts. Also consider your Attack Roll with your Dagger has a crappy "to hit" chance and expecially in the mid and later game you will miss quite often. Consider tapping into Warlock a bit deeper to get Packt of the Blade and just summon a Dagger or Scimitar as your pact weapon. Now your hit-chance is higher.
That's a lotta damage
Obligatory comment
My version of this build. I've had it mocked up for a while but it makes sense to comment here. Its 2014 based. All 19 levels in battlemaster Fighter with a Dhampir race, 1 in hexblade warlock The Piercer feat for an extra 1d4 on a crit and reroll the first 1 you get. Only heal on a crit, and you've got 3d4 +1d12 +11 because you'd max Constitution as soon as possible. A minimum damage and healing of 15, with a maximum of 35. With rerolls and advantage when under half health and hexblade curse, you'd expect a crit every 8 attacks, so every 3 turns without action surge. Its not as high as the theoretical maximum, but its still an expected 90 hp every long rest, with a maximum of 210 over that day.
Make note that you can only scribe and transcribe scrolls of wizard spells, so no cleric spells or smth
7:21 how did you get that "3 damage"?
One of my favorite builds was the long tooth shifter with the beast barbarian for 4 attacks at level 4.
>multiclassing Rejected. L2play
Alternatively just build a Grave Cleric and use Vampiric Touch. This would actually work far better, heal you consistently and not make you a one trick pony with a really strange stat distro. Vamp Touch is awesome, and you'll be able to cast other spells to help your party.
Start with Fighter for the armor and CON saves, then go Cleric the rest of the way, picking Thaumaturge for your Divine Order. Maybe go up to Fighter 3 for Champion and Action Surge, Grave Cleric 17 for the rest
@WolfHreda this is the way
Spooky season should go until black friday anyway, that's a pretty spooky day in its own way
Where did the +3 come from? Is that your Con modifier, if so you didn't mention this earlier. 3:08
Yes that is your current constitution modifier. 15 from standard array +2 from background. for a 17, it does stay a 17 for a while sadly.
2:43 i’m pretty sure natural weapons are unarmed strikes
Normally yes. but its because its states that it is a simple melee weapon that a bunch of stuff doesn't work
@ that sucks, a sneak attack dhampir for example would be incredibly fun to play
It is unfortunately not spooky day, but I’m feeling spooky enough for this!
Nice try, but none of the spells will add to the damage for healing. The Glyph requires you to have placed it at the point of combat since the object it’s placed on cannot move more than 10’ from the spot once Glyph is cast. Conjure Minor elementals not Spirit Shroud can be piercing since the spells aren’t on your wizard spell list AND because the spell that is converted from the Scribes feature dictates the spell must be of the same level, not castable at the same level. So you need a lvl 4 and a lvl 3 WIZARD spell that does piercing damage to even convert Spirit Shroud and/or Conjure Minor Elementals. And you still have 2 concentration spells required even if a potion of haste is used. Wall of thorns won’t add any damage to the bite at all, seems it’s there to add a piercing damage option to the spell list, but that’s not how the Scribes feature works as stated. I also suggest you add caveats when using Conjure Minor elementals, since it’s an obviously broken spell most DM’s will ban or nerf. But I like your ideas! Keep them coming!
One amazing and fun thing about Scribes Wizard is that it swapping a damage type to and from spells doesn't require those spells to actually do that damage, only mention the proper damage type by name. So Gaseous From and Stone Skin actually work as level 4 spell targets. This also means you can cast Intellect Fortress or Fire Shield swapping their damage types out for a resistance slightly more useful. But you're right on everything else. He also used both 2014 and 2024 rules to make this, nothing wrong with that except he cherry picked which version to use, Hex for example now only does Necrotic Damage. As for the Glyph thing, you'd need either a Bag of Holding or similar to cast the Glyph inside of, or a Spell Gem/Chronogeny Wizard's 10th level feature that breaks the game and casts the spell as an action. But at that point, someone like your familiar can just concentrate on it instead without the need for a Glyph. But just taking an action to interact with a Bag of Holding and triggering a bunch of different buff spells in 1 turn is cool. Expensive, unless you make Rare/3rd level Enscribed Staff/Armor (which still costs 2300g to craft). Since a Bag of Holding and similar are extra dimensional spaces, the glyphs inside aren't broken unless you take the glyphed item out, so sticking your hand in and saying the password works.
dragon rider build next?
still no discord?
Not yet, not sure how many people would join
@@XP_Goblin me atleast
Can you do a video on Paladin 6 / Monk 14? It's also insanely MAD, but since that doesn't seem to scare you off, I think you're the perfect UA-camr to explore the concept. The primary gimmick is saving throws at 20th level. After that, anything is free game.
Pls Trickster build bro
Wall of Thorns isn't a Wizard spell. Scribes Wizard can only change damage types of Wizard Spells. "When you cast a wizard spell with a spell slot, you can temporarily replace its damage type with a type that appears in another spell in your spellbook, which magically alters the spell's formula for this casting only. The latter spell must be of the same level as the spell slot you expend"
@Marshall-p5z Ice Knife is a first level spell. Conjure Minor Elementals is a 4th level spell. That doesn't help at all.
@@X20Adama faithful hound does piercing damage and it's 4th level, use that instead
@@Marshall-p5z That helps but it doesn't solve the 5th level+ issue.
@@X20Adamanimate objects does piercing and is 5th level, so there’s that. Also, backgrounds open up a decent amount more.
It just says another spell in your spell book. Wizards can learn spells from scrolls and place them in their spell book
<3
i really thought bro would do my comment😢
Would you mind copy-pasting the comment? I wanna see your build!
Some points to make it make more sense: 1. Paladins have had Steeds since their introduction and they were a called out feature in AD&D. They also had it as a spell in original 5e. Paladin players just never used many spells in 5e because - Smite. 2. The find steed spells lets the steed cast a single spell like effect and do 1D8 + spell level damage (necrotic, radiant or Psychic) so that is something. Get some chain barding on the critter and use it as a large sized but tiny source of damage. nd when you are incapacitated, use it to help yourself out. 3. You do now get 1 more Channel divinity and regain one used one on a short rest (lvl 1-9 you have 2 and lvl 10+ you get 3) 4. Smites likely were nerfed because they made DMs (especially new DMs) have a bad time since they, at times, could blow though more damage then characters twice their level most of their career. So sorry about that. 5. Divine Favor is the paladin required spell. No concentration +d4 on each attack and then you add smites as needed. And while, Minor elementals is almost certainly an mis print - this combo clearly is not. Lastly I want them to counterspell a smite from the paladin and not the really powerful spells of the spell casters in the party. After all while it saves them some damage and effects, there will still be significant damage will still get though. I wouldn’t worry unless you were attacking Strixhaven or Hagwarts with a Paladin - then counter spells are the least of your worries. Just 6 of my POV to give Paladins some life. Hope it was fun.
I highly recommend you drink water before recording audio. Your lips smacking made me turn off the video lol
Why no half 😂 orc? They can for one attack take as much you said twice
I've always wondered - how many summoned creatures is max? I want to make dnd into wargame
Reminds me of the fury road build. I just started designing. Barbarian with armor of agathas artificer with healing Cannon. Giving you temporary HP. A barbarian artificer would totally be like somebody for the mad Max universe. And your infusions are always available when you're raging.
That won't work with the 2024 rules. Assassinate has changed. Just sayin'.
