@@nicksepisode I weigh 14 stone and I'm 5 foot 8inches tall, the LV10 really makes it rev more freely as it gets rid of the cat and is half the weight of the standard exhaust 😌👍🏻
Hi Nick - its Big Rodders in Ireland. I own a 2020 14k Yellow Monkey. There is much misinformation out there in tinterland about Monkey gearing. The two highest gears in both the 4 & 5 speed models have identical speeds at max power, which is 60mph in top. Also, the speedo is optimistic and mine reads 53 compared to a GPS 50. I have experimented with altered gearing and a 1 tooth less front sprocket brings on the ABS light at sustained higher speed riding. In my view the Monkey should be considered to be a GPS 50mph cruising machine as sustained higher speed riding reduces the joy of travelling. It is by far the most comfortable bike I've owned and I never arrive at a destination without wanting to just continue riding. I've averaged 153mpg since new.
You are spot on. It’s a 50mph bike all day. I don’t wanna mess with gearing, Honda made it this way for a reason. I also agree it’s the 2nd most comfortable bike I ever owned from 26 bikes (gs1200 being the best)
Great video I’ve got a five speed monkey done some mods on it termignoni decat exhaust k&n filter changed the sprockets 14 tooth front 37 rear heavy duty chain had it up to 70 on dual carriageway I’m 13 stone also put yss rear shocks bit firmer ride exhaust bit louder it’s a great little bike.
60 Is pretty good and safe for such a small bike. This Bike is perfect for A Roads for Touring, not many like Motorways even on Bigger Bikes, unless one is in a Hurry to get somewhere, but then the Journey getting there is half the fun..
11:36 Yea, I dont get how people think that small bikes cant do a whole lot.. (except go real fast) Scooter Cannonball is a perfect example of some insane rides people do. The 2023 Cannonball was like 3200 miles over 8 days, with similar bikes to the monkey, some even smaller.
somewhere I recognise but only because of the windmill and willgarrod said Kessingland. After Jodie's removed a few of your bits for telling us all her weight maybe you'll be light enough to get 65 out of it too.
Apologies I keep saying 6th gear when I really mean 5th 😂 this bike has 5 gears not 6!!
And - it's a 5 gear TRANSMISSION, not engine ☝☝😀
Great video on the Monkey, I got 70mph out of my 24 plate Grom today, and it has a Leo Vince LV10 exhaust on it 😁👍🏻
@@KRAM-zb2vc aww man, how much do you weigh ? lol

@KRAM-zb2vc do you have a fuel tuner on it ?
@@nicksepisode no just the exhaust 👍🏻

I was thinking about changing sprocket, would you recommend? Will that give me more top end? Does it affect abs? Cheers

Yeah they are fun shit wish it would sit at 70 ok
😂😂the Kessingland bypass drag strip, many a Lowestoft boy has used that to test the too speed of their new bikes😂😂
Yup lol

It’s more rewarding on a smaller machine
where did you get that nice windshield?
ebay

Lmao yeah true !
Put a turbo on it or a sail on the back of it get down on the tank nick or maybe rocket fuel in the tank 😂
I think a crf300 engine swap would do the trick lol!
Not sure I would want to do 60mph on a Monkey on a dual carriageway, interesting to know it will get up to that speed though.
Yeah it’s not fun!
Well, replace the rear sprocket, or the front.....or both 😀 - if MOOOORE speed is needed 🤷♂
😂 did Jodie you a good hiding ?…..I know my wife would 😂
Ive since filmed a 6 months ownership review (coming this Sunday) and I mentioned Jodie’s weight again. So I am getting a double hiding 🙈
@@nicksepisode 😂 you like taking risks.
6th gear? Monkey only has 5😢
@@nigel274 I know I’m so used to having a bike with 6! Silly me
Only commented cos just bought one myself 3 weeks ago. Got two big bikes myself but once you get used to lack of power they're great fun.
How about one tooth smaller on the counter shaft?
Would that make 5th more usable?
