Love the CM model owning one myself (on my channel) I think you need a diff ratio change. That first gear pull was crazy. I went with an Eaton truetrack in mine with a 3:45 ratio but also mines a mild 318 too so most likely would be different anyway. Mine sits on 3,000 rpm at 100 kmh. Bloody great cars though

Great idea although I’d take one more step and adhere sand paper or emery cloth to the plate instead of lapping compound. The reason is the the compound will be wearing the tool as well as the head/block. I’m planning to lap my Model A head and block soon. The method I’ll be using is a piece of tempered glass laid on my machined cast iron table saw with sanding cloth lightly glued with low strength contact cement to the glass. I’ll cut up some 6”x48” sanding belts .

Spot on, for decades Ive used a diamond slurry charged metal lapping plate. I can acheive a flatness across the face of the block or head within .0005 tenths removing minimul material. I think its crazy as phuck that machineshops mill off .005 to .020 off from the block or head. Thank you for posting your video, great job sir.

had something like that in a centura 4spd ,it was fun. these days id put a hho cell on it ,my cars run just that little better like you have a tail wind with hho. towing you dont need to drop back gears as often
