fantastic design work! Cannot way to try to print and build this.
👍
Thanks for posting. nice video. I'm building a balsa Manta :)
Sounds great!
Great work! how much does it weight with all the components?
@@Delicosa my various builds range from 125 -140g
After seeing the beautiful flight characteristics and your other build video I have decided this will be my winter build this year! Thanks for releasing the stl files! Keep it up!
Awesome, thank you!
This would make the ultimate powered wing. Either center mounted prop, with a slot cut in the middle of the body, or a pusher configuration from the rear. Now that I have most of my first non powered version printed, I might try to mess with the modifiers and see if it could be done.

Lovely morning flight. Thanks for sharing and good luck with your business.
Thanks so much!
Great Job
Thanks for watching
Thanks for sharing! ❤❤❤
Thanks for watching!
Bro I cant ablemto down stl file Means it gets downloaded but not showing in cura
This is for Orca or Bambu Studio.
Terrific flights! Congratulations on your success. Carry on!
Thank you!
Am I supposed to export this from Cura in Binary Stl, or ascii stl?
I use Binary stl
little beauty! also, despite looking a bit bare, you're lucky to have such empty slopes! where I live around the city, every squaremeter is full of grapevines and wires. 😅
Oh wow!
Great looking and flies pretty dam good!
Thanks 👍
These builds are amazing! I'm a total newb but want to try designing a wing just to experience the end-to-end experience. Do you have any CAD software you recommend? I've tried using wing-helper (and xflr's wing editor)... and I doubt they could generate the sort of smooth and detailed wings you have.
Fusion360 is pretty popular in this field. I use Rhino. Simplicity is the new kid on the block. All three are very capable tools
Beautiful maiden.
Thank you kindly
Impressive, and it's mostly 3D printed, just Incredible.
Thanks you so much!
No way, is that Communication Hill? Haha I used to live a 10 minute bike ride away and flew here once or twice!
You got a good eye 👍

Hey, thanks for the plans. Could you please tell where I can find the bom?

Hi Guys, new to this hobby. I am using Pursa slicer, I can't open some of the files. Has anyone else had issues, firewall is one of the files. I have printed the vtail. Thank you for sharing.....
The 3mf files are for Orca / Bambu Studio slicer. Not recommended, but it’s possible to convert to Prussia slicer ==>

@@geode_rc Thank you

You bet!
Hi, where do i get the CG for this DLG?
Please refer to lightnin bug for cg. Link to plan can be found in the faq section
try tether stick planes, ie a 3d-cross with full 4-point tethers with wires in all direction, ultra-light strong rigid support structure.
if you like math, then try tethered wing structures, especially 3d cross with 4-point tethering all over, you can attach various surfaces on the tether wires and poles. yes similar to 4-point tower wire tethering. only vertical strength of the tower matters.
Very impressive design and build! Curious to see it fly or hear how it flew. Are you planning to publish a flight video?
If it flies well, I will (try to) build it as well
That's the plan! For now, please refer to flight videos of “Bug Lite equivalent” designs such as Carbon Bug and Lightening Bug
Bellissimo lavoro ! 👍Che tipo di film usi per ricoprire le ali?
I use Doculam. If using LW PLA, it’s recommended to use Japanese tissue paper
@@geode_rc Grazie 👍
Great glider & flying site.
Thanks for watching
Nice build. Well done. Maybe offer it as a kit build ARTF?
Someday ⋯may be⋯after I build up my supply chain 😅
Very light and interesting design but what program do you use for simulation?
I use XFLR5 for aerodynamic simulations, Rhino for CAD design.
Summary, don't get to see it fly.
Just updated Bug Lite maiden. Hope you enjoy 😉
aha keeping the motor people happy, wheeeeerrrrrrrrrrrooooommmm 😂 great work as usual. Dont know what youve tried yet but you could try slowly shrinking the laminate with a hair dryer or a heat gun held very far away, helps if you havent de-fogged the covering and use the opacity as a guage to determine how hot and how fast the covering is getting. The thin stuff actually shrinks a lot but the amount of shrinking is somewhat controllable. So you start far away without the glue activated and gradually move in on it, hold until a little after the fog's gone. You would do it after tacking the edged but not the ribs. Just my experience with laminste ive been through over 3000 feet of it in various thicknesses
Thanks 👍, I did get a heat gun and it work very nice on PA-CF or PLA ribs. In this case, I use LW PLA, it just deformED the ribs before the doculam shrink 😂😂😂
@@geode_rc can we get some more details about the doculam can´t find alot about it here in the EU
@@Gravity-k4r in EU, I would recommend using light weight covering film (such as Solite) or Japanese tissue. Doculam is a document protection film, low cost but need higher temp to shrink
@@geode_rc would love to try the Doculam to be honest. Just found a source for glossy 38mic would that work or what thickness is your recommendation?
@@Gravity-k4r try thinnest doculam you can find. mine is ~1 mil or less
Hi great job 😃. What wire do you use to assemble the tailplane?
@@ksisaqev I use Beadalon 7 Strand Stainless Steel Bead Stringing Wire, 0.010 in / 0.25 mm, Bright, 30 ft / 9.2 m ; a.co/d/jiRSfQr
Awesome build! Love that wing gig - makes life a lot easier than pins. Curious about what is your personal preference inline or stacked servo? Keep it up!!
@@k.o.0 If your RX/ESC is small enough, go with inline (that’s what I did in this build). Space and CG is the limiting factors and it depends on your powertrain , battery, and servo selection.
The wing tips are also Carbon Nylon?
The wing tips are LW PLA. The outer 4 ribs are PA-CF (less rib deformation due to leading edge CF rods)
can you tell me where the file is for the fin i have the elevators but no fin thanks
It’s in the zip file, search for vtail*.*

All up flying weight ??
@@geoffreygower4911 1000g auw with 1 wall, 5% infill using PLA Pro
@@geode_rc good weight and need a bit more ballast when on a windy slope. Built a similar balsa/fiber glass swivel wing back in the early 90s and it flew great. All guess work then. Look forward to seeing the video. Cheers from OZ
3mf files are broken: can not open in any program... no object or parsing error at line 21
Try Orca or Bambu Studio.
Looking forward to the maiden videos!
How did the brakes work out? I'm guessing the theory is it'll cause more drag? Looks like a nice build. Interested to see it in action
Waiting for re-maiden … stay tuned
Isn't that bad for the servos?
@@johannes21e6 Only if you operate outside the servo spec limit
xflr5 and flz vortex in the task bar 😁
V2 will come with hexagon surface for optimized airflow under the palm ….xflr5 will be needed 😀
Slope gliders, palm glider, what will you make next 😂
Guess in a few more year I’ll need to make a glider chair for myself😅
Ive just downloaded this and cant wait to print it.
👍
Looks amazing! Do you have an estimated AUW? What size motor will it use?
My PLA "Bug 3DP" ~ 125g. With LW-PLA, 3D printed parts is about ~48g (plus carbon fiber & electronics for AUW). I'm thinking about 1104 or 1507 motor with 2S 350 mAh.
@@geode_rc Very cool. I recently saw your Bug DLG and am very interested in building one, but I'm a bit intimidated by learning how to use wing covering film. Time to learn a new skill I suppose
It’s sliced in regular mode (1 wall, 0% infill)with modifiers at selected layers
Then I'll have to activate my printers again😊
is this sliced in surface mode?
Love It. I will buy and build one for me. This model was designed in Rynoceros?
Thank you ! Yes, it’s designed in Rhino7… Before purchase, I would recommend review the free manual and RCGroups forum. Not everyone can enjoy the print/build process 😅
