Manic miner is hall of the mountain king jet set is if i were a rich man no?
13:58 - are you sure this isn't secretly Flight Simulator or something?! 😁
I mean.... it's possible.
"How many pixels is a furlong" -- had me laughing so hard!! You ladies we're hysterical today. But have you even played the Intellivision if you haven't played Utopia? Also, Amy I always get the bum controller too!!! ;)
Bravo !
Hi, I saw your video and I fell in love with it. On Sunday I bought a trunk with thousands of components at a flea market, I understood that there was something good in the middle. in fact I managed to find different versions of the 8041, 8085, 8088, 8086, ram, rom, eeprom, plus hundreds of TTLs as well as thousands of transistors, capacitors, .... etc. I wanted to know if you could help me choose the best versions of components and build a computer from scratch. It has always been a passion of mine. I hope you can help me, thanks...
That would mean the cable out is configured in a non-standard way.
Amy, your sparkly eye shadow is soooo pretty! Love it. love you crazy geeky ladies!
Thank you!!!!!!!
I want one of those 6502 t-shirts!
What a great video!! Always know where your towel is!
😎
Hey, lovely project! And a nice Tek.
Love that you gals proudly wear your rainbows! 🌈
Pride month, baby!
I had one of those in my teens and had it until my early 40s. In my local cable company had a subscription service you could hook the game up to an adapter box that would give you 30 games a month and each month they'd offer new games to play. Night Stalker and Buzz Bombers were some of my favorites, hockey was funny because you could get a penalty and sit in the penalty box.
Whoa. That is pretty epic.
Such a strange console, someday I want one, haha.I love those early days of gaming consoles with weird controls and ideas.
Ppl were still trying out all the ideas.
@@fractalMD Yeah, I love that.
incredible. Awesome!
The only people to get an Aquarius before an Intellivision? Also, I always think of "triple action" Aquafresh when I see the space capsule icon ...
We are keeping it weird!
you are technicaly so cute !
Back then, I didn't get one, because I thought, the controllers were weird. Kind of predecessors to gamepads. I'd always prefer real digital joysticks. The sound on this is better than I expected. The "running horses" sounded actually quite good. The Intellivision got an AY-3-8914 soundchip, it seems. The Apple Mockingboard had a similar chip. (And the later ZX Spectrum models or even the Atari ST). So not bad for a gaming console of 1979. According to Wikipedia, it even had a 16 bit CPU.
Yeah, the 16 bit CPU thing blew my mind.
You are going to have a LOT of fun with that system, especially when it comes to comparing Atari 2600 games with Intellivision counterparts. Have fun.
We will! Thx!
I think we can all agree that Burger Time was a weird game
Deeply weird, right? Also, band.
You really need the slide-in overlays to play the games.
You have never been more correct.
I had one of those, so cool
Nice!
They don't realize that the disc is just a fancy looking "D pad"!
So fancy it doesn't work even as a D pad!!!
Triple action does NOT sound like a toothpaste.!
Heh
You ladies are entertaining. You should do the show on gummies or with a bottle of red wine.
Send them a bottle to open for the 8192 subscriber Party!
The world isn't ready for that.
Wait what? You can get LED segment displays with bubble lenses? How did I not know this?
!!!!
What's with orgainizers taking 9.75 times more space than the thing?
Right?
If there was a “Best In Show” award for UA-cam thumbnails, this video’s thumbnail would be my pick! Awesome video as always!
We did very much enjoy this thumbnail. Not gonna lie!
Pride? More like an Activision game box.
It's the same picture. 😂
16:43 "Wouldn't it be fun to make your own game?" Yes! Yes it would. I ought to know. Good to see new fans of the old Intellivision.
Very very cool.
push the edge of the disc in the direction you want to go. you are trying to spin it.
Lordt I tried this that and everything.
Where my horses at?! I’m in lesbians with both of you! Intellivision was my first console so I loved watching you two try to figure it out. Happy Pride!
That last horse finally showing up late to the game to cross the line absolutely sent me. 🌈 🏳️🌈 🌈 🏳️🌈
I like how y'all have the NABU as the monitor stand.
It just feels right. Lol.
Happy pride! Good to se the shirt shout out to “Veronica Explains“. I was hoping you had the inrellivoice too, so you could have shown off the voice games though a few games attempted voice without it.
Oh we wish. Would love to find one. Also Veronica is AWESOME! 🌈
Trying to guess the controls without the keypad overlays is a bold move.
You spelled insane wrong!
I just bought an Intellivision a few days ago! Unfortunately, mine is dead - no sign of life. I’ll have some fun troubleshooting it soon. Thanks for the preview of what I can look forward to. LOL!
Nice! Intellivision is in the zeitgeist it seems!
Change the W to an E by pressing the G... WTF?
MADNESS!
That was the best opening for a video I've ever seen. xD
Hahaha
When you guys brought out the one without a label, I was like, "Oh! That's the one that was in dad's sock drawer that he only plays late at night." 😉 Then, when the label said, "Triple Action", I was like, "Yup. That's pr0n!" 🤣😂 Thanks for being subtle! 😁
There were.... significant glances.
Superior membrane-based content, as expected. I'm so proud of you. Best episode ever!
Any time I can dress as a rainbow is a good time.
I got an Intellivision II as a Christmas present after the video game crash happened, and games were cheap. Basically the same system, except the case was smaller, you could unplug the controllers, and reportedly the side buttons were stiffer. Mattel also tried to lock out third party cartridges by looking for a certain byte sequence, and refusing to play any games that didn't have it. I think this only affects a couple Nintendo games though. I also ended up getting the voice module, which added crude speech, but only 4-5 games used it. I found that even when it was new, if I pushed the games all the way into the cartridge slot, sometimes they didn't work. I would then pull them out maybe a millimeter, and that seemed to fix them. I don't know why. Wico made a replacement controller that had an actual joystick, but they were rare and expensive. Even more so today. Other companies had cheaper solutions. You could buy replacement discs that had small joysticks on them, which kind of looked like pawns. There were stick-on joysticks, and even a plastic thing that clamped around the controller, with a fairly large joystick meant to push the disc in your chosen direction. With your knowledge, I'm sure you could build your own replacement controllers with joysticks. You'd lose eight of the directions though, as almost all joysticks are 8-way and the Intellivision disc had 16 directions. The overlays are important for some games, but for a lot of games there are so few things you need the keypad for that the overlays are kind of overkill. BurgerTime - Seriously, you don't know how to play BurgerTime??? It's a classic arcade game! You have to clear each screen by making burgers. You do this via the ultra-sanitary method of walking over the burger pieces to make them drop. When a piece falls, it will temporarily kill any enemies it hits, and it will knock down any burger pieces under it that it hits. If you lure enemies onto a burger piece and drop them with it, the piece will fall an extra level for each enemy, plus kill them temporarily. You can stun enemies by throwing pepper at them. You get more pepper by picking up the bonus items that occasionally appear. The enemies are programmed such that they will almost always get off a ladder at the next platform, or take the next ladder that they come to. Rarely, if ever, will they simply keep going up/down a ladder, or across a platform. My favorite games; BurgerTime Sub Hunt - Naval action and strategy Microsurgeon - Move a microscopic sub around the body and heal it Atlantis - Protect a city from alien ships, like the Atari 2600 game
Taylor is crazy cause we already played burger time, even on our very own channel!!!!
omg, I was just looking at Intellivision videos tonight too! awesome
Dude
@@fractalMD Dudette 😎
I hope you can get the controllers fixed...
They aren't broken controllers, they are content opportunities!
LOL!
Having the joypad overlays is pretty important, it's basically the manual for most games. :-)
Now you tell us!
@@fractalMD I know, right!
Hearing those sound effects for the first time in 32 years is amazeballz! thankyou for sharing.
NOSTALGIA!!!!
Thanks for sharing! I still have 2 Intellivision consoles and a few dozen games. Always a great time!
Oooh, lucky
