Is it weird that I was as excited as you (maybe just a bit more) during the unboxing? What a cool machine and that packaging was simply fantastic! Maybe it was custom made for VIPs? The question I am left with is, do I buy the 2600+ or 7800+? I really want the 7800 games but the woodgrain of the 2600 is my weakness. 🤔

Subscribing! I love the laid-back approach with you all look like you are having fun! I have a scoptrex board I want to build, so this is so useful! I will be using a vectorscope with is different from an oscilloscope in that is uses an electrostatic CRT. This is supposed to give a much higher refresh rate.

This was so enjoyable to watch :-) I need to do this on my 2600.

On the spectrum, break was on the space key. The command is LOAD "" (no space). I'm fairly sure that the border should change colour and sort of waver in colour once you press return (if it works the same way as speccy). Because the speccy was sooo problematic with tapes, everyone had very specific tape decks and each would be set to specific volumes (and tone's if they had that) and we didn't change it once it worked. There were specific datacorders made for spectrum and other machines who could use any old tape deck. So, it'll be trial and error really. I would definitely clean the tape head though.

I am surprised that no one mentioned this, but a truly excellent game for TI 99-4A is TUNNELS OF DOOM. It is a dungeon crawler RPG and would make a really good video. If you dont want the game to last too long, just set the number of floors to 2 so that limits how difficult it is to find what you are looking for. The game was so popular that a guy named Howard Kistler made a remake of it in JAVA maybe 10 years ago, Tunnels of Doom Reboot. He also did a modern version of Hunt the Wumpus. As a kid in the early 80s, my friends and I spent many a rainy afternoon playing ToD (you can play up to 4 players).

Very cool game! Really cool how it switches to the other monitor to play Tetris. I wish they would have made this crap when I had a C128 in the 80's! All I did was play C64 games...

I always thought the two independent screens was cool (in my case, it required a multipak and a Wordpak 80 column card - so big $$$, and the 80 column card was just text with no graphics). So a bit jelly of the dual independent graphics screens on the C128. And looking forward to official band videos!
