Holy crap. Your reveal of the Color Computer 2 manual just sent me back to Christmas, 1983! I was trying to make video games in BASIC with poor results. I didn't know anyone in my blue-collar hometown who knew about computers lol. All I had was that damn book!
Look, Amy dropped an amazing dad joke ("Well, that's better than the impractical guide...") and everyone is refusing to acknowledge it. I can't let that go on. That joke was brilliant! (Also- great video. Nice work!)
I grew up hating this mascot guy.... And, I spent hours typing in random stuff from those manuals. Today I love that mascot guy - this may be the best thing I've seen on UA-cam.
"Way better than the impractical guide." I just spit coffee all over my desk! P.S. I can't be the only one that wants an entire Taylor & Amy music album...
This was *great*! I don't think anyone has actually constructed the mascot before. I do know that Boisy and the Coco Crew did find out who wrote the original BASIC / Extended BASIC manuals (and I think the illustrator as well)... I will reach out to them and post here once I get their names.
Thank you! The creativity and passion that goes into this channel leaves me at a loss for words. I really appreciate your hard work and dedication. Please keep it coming!
"See, here he is with his new friend." "Disky." I don't know why, but that made me smile. My first computer was a ZX Spectrum 16K. I still have the manual: spiral bound with what I thought then and think now is beautiful artwork on the cover. Edit: smiled all the way through. You two are loonies. Highly intelligent, skilful, original and creative loonies. And I mean that as a compliment. 🙂
I'm sooo happy to see you follow the sage advice of Norm Abram during his days on the New Yankee Workshop. There's no more important piece of equipment that _THESE_ Safety Glasses. 👍Nobody wants PVC fragments anywhere near their eyelids, eyeballs,... And 6:28 Steak Knife ftw, hey it's safer than any laser cutter quite frankly and WAY quicker for this build. 👍 Aaaaand BOO-YAH! 11:03 dear reader, if you're watching this, Taylor and Amy did it! This turned out way better than I thought it would.
Absolutely FANTASTIC! While there are retro UA-camrs out there wasting their time attaching 16TB SCSI drives to a ZX80 or hooking up a punch card reader to their early-access release PlayStation 6, THIS is where the really interesting stuff is happening.
But there's 1 manual.. and only 1 manual.. hahaha I really enjoyed this video. Doctor Tandy Radio Shack 80!! (It's a normal name) hahaha So much fun.. keep up the great work, and love the coco videos.
My phone died today and the thing I was most bummed about was losing the last text chain I had with my best female buddy from Uni (class of 93). The very last text I sent her was a link to the 6502 song with some comments. Keep SINGING those Weird Al inspired songs, they keep us smiling and I hope it made her smile in those last days.
Great to see the Mini PET manual made the grade along side it's illustrious predecessors. I will start work immediately on a Mini PET mascot for the next edition 🙂
That's neat. Glad you guys had fun recreating the mascot from the CoCo books. Those books were my introductions to computers when I was a kid. The CoCo community had another mascot that even had a guy in a silly cat costume that they had at conventions. CoCo Cat was often seen in the Rainbow magazines. Cheers! :)
What did Amy say at 3:32? I can't quite make it out! EDIT: I think I got it (either "It's my Christian name" or "It's not a Christian name") either way, I also laughed. Amy's humour is the perfect counterpoise to Taylor's energy. Love this channel so much.
I just realized what it is. Who's the third and silent cast member to the left? She keeps giving them knowing glances. THAT'S why shes looking over there ok ok
I hope we’ll get a chance to meet Anthropomorphic CoCo at CoCoFest! My 11yr old son is coming with me this year and just watched this video. Maccy is one of his favourite UA-cam characters, so he’s liking this new one already.
Can Simone Giertz and Laura Kampf create and perform musical numbers with catchy retro PC lyrics as well as you two? No! They can't! Well, probably not. Another great video!
Last time I was in Memphis, someone used one of those cutters thingies to cut out the catalitic converter from the bottom of my vehicle. That cost a pretty penny to get fixed. The muffler place who fixed it for me said they do multiples of those every day. Your next project should be downloading your brain into a computer and taking it over. I'm guessing ya'll have some "maker space" type places available around town and don't necessarily have to use your steak knife.
Dr. TRS-80: the only AI we'll ever need.
I, for one, welcome our robot masters!
That's the book that taught me how to program in the Summer of 1981

It was Winter of 1984 for me. 😄

😃
I could listen to you ladies sing all day long 😉
Congratulations on the newest member of your family 😍
Isn't he a peach?
Best 13 mins I’ve spent in ages. The music was the coup de gras. Magnificent.
Hooray!!
That was my first computer and I remember that manual! 🤘
Nice!
That was some precise CNC steak knife work! lol.
I'm basically a pro.
I grew up hating this mascot guy.... And, I spent hours typing in random stuff from those manuals.
Today I love that mascot guy - this may be the best thing I've seen on UA-cam.
The bestest!
Your song using Sugar Sugar was fantastic, that was fun!
Thx!!!
"Way better than the impractical guide." I just spit coffee all over my desk!

At this rate we are working up to enough songs for one!

Oh that would be awesome.
I loved the song! 😊
Hooray!
Was having a very stressful week and this was just a whole bucket of happiness. Thanks Taylor and Amy!
That makes us so happy to hear! Just what the Dr (TRS-80) ordered.
Congrats on receiving your UA-cam Play Button! (some assembly required)
It's such an honor.

Flashback to OM days. This is why you placed 8th in World Competition. You still got it!
TOTAL FLASHBACK
Totally bonkers, totally love it! Now I won’’t be able to see another retro computer without it getting the Taylor and Amy anthropomorphic touch!
every video is a delight
Awe, thx!
Now that's the kind of classic computing content I did not expect, but do appreciate a lot! :D Great work!
The retro content you didn't even know was possible....😂
Wait, how did I miss this episode (12 days ago)? Nice work!

That was unexpected. Awesome and adorable! And who DOESN'T love a good montage.

As someone who has been know to wear the occasional bow-tie, I approve.
Excellent!
More 80s and 90s stories and photos please 😊
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
That stack of manuals is so relatable. I knew the differences between so many different versions of BASIC that I never touched.
Got to have the manual stack!
Maccy + Coco playdate = Best vid in history. 😄
They are cousins, too - the original Jef Raskin designed Macintosh prototype used a 6809 CPU... same as the Coco has (2 MHz in the Mac's case).
I live for this
This is the most Crazy Show i ever seen ... ;)
We are like, now for something completely different....
Brilliant! I wonder what Avon makeup palette would be suitable for Coco.....
There is a thought!

I used to draw him ALL THE TIME in school. This is fantastic. 🥰🍻
He is pretty cute!
nice song! add to playlist
Woo!
Loved the song and the new little dude!!
Thank you! We love him.
i like these girls... they also have a passion for computers
😃
I remember when I was a kid had a couple children’s books that had a small story, some stickers, and a BASIC program to type in.
Those are really fun
But there's 1 manual.. and only 1 manual.. hahaha I really enjoyed this video.

Coco forever!
It would be fun to see an 8 bit Star Trek software adventure.. in costume? How many systems had a Star Trek Game? Which is the most fun?
We do love costumes.

Jeez. I thought I did high quality janky stuff in my channel, but y’all win; I love this so much!
It's an honor.
How dare the UA-cam gods not alert me to your videos!!!???!!! I kept thinking, where are they?? Finally, I can catch up! :)
AND A SONG??? Damn. I've missed y'all.
Love youuuuuuuuu
Yay new T&A show!!
Woo hoo!
Thank you for your video, and for the Douglas Adams sign.
We've got you!

We seem to be working up to that, albeit inadvertently!

Wholesome AF!

I hope you'll bring this to VCF Southwest! We're having a Tandy Assembly meetup at the show this year and this would fit right in!
Well have to see how portable he is, but it's got travel potential.
Wow! first time viewer and new subscriber. I had a really good time with this one.
Welcome! Yes, we are always this weird.
That's awesome

I think he must be Maccy's crazy uncle from London.
Hahaha
I can't decide if you 2 are geniuses or just crazy. Keep it up either way.
No reason we can't be both!
I have to admit that is really cool. Great job. 😃
No one is more surprised than we are!
One of your best videos, guys. Two thumbs up. 👍 👍
Lol, thx!!
"Disky" reminds me of the command to format the disk.
To this day every time I format a drive in windows I say DSKINI0 in my head.
And rightly so

Awesome. Why does he have two tiny cupholders at belly height? 🤔🤣 Also this mascot needs its own video game. They all did, so why not?
It's to keep his body from sliding forward. I prolly need something like it for myself, tbh. 😂
