Teslong Borescope Video CZ Bren 2MS
Bren 2MS throat rifle lands look torn instead of cut. burrs on the trailing edge of the lands. both land edges should be clean and square. would have never known about this but now teslong has made quality borescopes available. this video is made with the 26" ridged teslong borescope.

Changes to CZ Bren 2MS to improve the 11-1/2 inch pistol. tightened stock mounting, new HBI handguard with mod, new HBI trigger, new HBI charging handle. The muzzle brake is a ultradyne pulse, behind the gun is good but people on the sides might get abused. The epoxy I used for the rear endcap dovetails is loctite hysol ea9394. I redid and refit the rear endcap with one coat of the ea9394 filed...

    I purchased this grip for my K6s DASA. I agree that the factory grips are pretty, but pretty doesn't count when you're defending yourself or your family. ONE, and for me the most significant, weakness of the factory grip is the exposed backstrap. The firearm is chambered in 357 Magnum, a pretty powerful round, with what can be serious recoil. The steel backstrap, as I see it, transfers the energy of that recoil directly to your hands. In my humble opinion it made sense to cover that steel backstrap with a rubber cushion. I first tried a set of grips from Lok. They fit my hand perfectly. But, they were so large that they were difficult to conceal. So, I purchased these. Hogue is a reputable manufacturer. I have a set of their grips on my SP101 and they're excellent! But on this revolver, this grip is simply too small for my hand. I could not get a grip that allowed me to control the power advantageously. I wish Hogue had seen fit to extend the grip another half inch, and add purchase for the little finger. The real kicker was removing this grip....DIFFICULT!!! and I mean REALLY FRIKKIN' DIFFICULT! I've gone back to the Lok. Guess I'll just hafta hide my amazing physique with a baggy shirt. Oh Well...

      I got a email from lok in the last month or so about the grips for the dasa. If memory serves I think they were $85 per pair. The down fall was the limited selection in color. The only color that appealed was the black and blue. Would like to see some more colors before I buy.

      @@whooper3336 as it happens I went with the black and blue color choice...but they got me for significantly more than $85 bucks. They fit real nice though and they look darn good.

    • @whooper3336
      @whooper3336 10 місяців тому

      yes the ten shot version is the current version, if you go with the six shot version from years ago the qc at s&w was much better then, than what it is today, in regards to revolvers. the revolvers from years ago were all built to a higher qc standard than what is shipped out now. seems today s&w figures it easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to put out top quality revolvers across the board. colt pythons have taken a different approach. even the pythons being sold as blems are hard to figure out where the blemish is. this 617 cylinder barrel sticky chambers cleaned up with burnishing the sticky chamber bores. all that said, if you get a good 617 they are nice guns. i am waiting for the colt 6" cobra target .22 to come out. seen some in 4-1/4" but waiting for the 6".

    I bought mine in 2021 and its been great. Keep in mind these are factory "mass produced" guns...you will get a turd now and then. The only thing that has always irritated me is when people say " well they don't build them like they used to"... When I became a Trooper in 1984, my first duty weapon was a 686 no dash, it would get out of time after 100-150 range loads, and less than 50 if you used .38 +P 158gr or .357, and my LIFE depended on that weapon.

      In my experience s&w makes ok semi auto pistols. The older revolvers I have were received were ok with no major defects. The newer revolvers not so much. Received a 617 from buds, when you looked at the top of the revolver you could easily see the barrel was canted to one side. I did not accept transfer. On this pro series what made matters worse was s&w customer service. When s&w sent it back one time and the pro series logo was missing customer service tried telling me the gun never has such a marking on it. I still remember that conversation with joe at s&w to this day. It is a embarrassment on s&w. If you are former le then you should have had a few of the 3rd gen semi autos. Those are good guns. That was back when smith did not want to copy John browns 1911, so the 3rd gen evolved. The 1006 was a good example of what that design could do.

    I was wondering if the difference in sights greatly affected the point of impact on the barrel length that you have. The hiViz company states it's for barrels 2.5" and longer. I have a 686 plus 5" barrel.

    • @whooper3336
      @whooper3336 Рік тому

      Go to Dawson precision, they have a calculator you can use to shift point of impact to exactly where you want. Their calculator if I remember right uses distance between sights, height of rear sight, height of front sight, distance to target. It used to be all manual meaning that you had to do your own math, now I believe you just plug your numbers in and it calculates how much poi will change.

    March of 2023. Bought 2 686’s one regular one performance center. Both are complete garbage. Horrendous machine marks, gaps, canted barrel and etc… sent them back to the dealer. He stated in past three months he had 15 of them as a returns. Smith & Wesson is complete joke at this time. Don’t waste your money on Smith and Wesson revolvers… also bought 29-10 about a year ago. Very low quality bluing job. They used to make one of the best revolvers on the market, but not anymore.

      Yep my guess is that generation x has not yet learned to appreciate a well made revolver. Perhaps someday they will and the craftsmanship will return to s&w east coast works. In the mean time a European company cz has bought colt and the new python and anaconda are out of the park home runs.

      Yes I own a couple of sigs myself. Both had qc issues. On a mpx the ejector screws backed out at the range. By the time I noticed, One came completely out the other held on by a few threads. I was actually able to find the screw that hit the deck at an outdoor range. Got it home put blue loctite on them, has not been an issue since. The mpx also has the timney trigger, it has trigger slap. Contacted timney they said yes you will have that, they suggested wearing a glove when I shoot. It takes the sting out.

    Smith will say it meets their standards. Quality has dropped and it took three trips for my 617 6 in barrel. They will be less than honest when addressing any issue. My trigger is awesome but forcing cone and rifling gouged. They say it meets their standards. I said it doesn’t meet mine. I am not happy with them. Too many bad ones hit the market. It takes weeks to address anything. Ruger and Colt look a lot better at this point.

      My experience was the same with a 686. Unless you can find a s&w in a shop that is up to snuff I steer away from s&w wheel guns. In 22 cal colt has the king cobra 22 target from what little I have seen it seems fit and finish on the cobra is there.finding one is the hard part. I am surprised kimber with their dasa has not gotten into the 22cal department.

    It doesn't look like much has changed at S&W. About 20 years ago I bought a 686 and a 629 classic. The 686 would misfire at times and the 629 would when fired the cylinder would index ahead one round. They were sent back and S&W could not or would not fix either gun. I sold them to guys that wanted them for hunting. I bought a 5906 and it has been flawless.
