@@alexgardian3492 for sake of comparison both the Toyota Tacoma and Hilux have a safe fording depth of around 27in or 70cm. The all electric Rivian is rated for 43in or 109cm.

@@Western-Wild That's right. That’s why I indicated the ford depth of 1.5 meters. I can drive 70 centimeters in my Prius without any problems. Okay, not 70 but 50, but this is an ordinary passenger car!

@@scottg9208 agreed completely. We’d love to see a rugged Toyota truck with a high payload… but as of right now if we had to go truck shopping Ford would be our first stop.

I don't think you actually watched the video since we mentioned straps and winches in the first 30s lol. Three real world traction board recoveries were featured in addition to the test segments which were setup intentionally to create an apples to apples comparison. The test mirrored the results that we have experienced in the field. This video was exclusively intended to compare two traction board brands, but we have other winter wheeling content that covers your points about essential gear and exploring with a friend. Maybe you can consider subscribing and checking those videos out as well.

You’re spot on with the Hummer EV comment. We were reacting to the payload given the oversized battery that the hummer comes with… but even so it lags behind the 1,700+ lb payload that you can get with a Rivian. I’ll add a little caption through UA-cam since our reaction was off-base. And yes, trail limitations increase with size. It’s a trade off that really will depend on the style of trips that we end up taking in the long run. Ideally we’d have a mid-size SUV for wheeling and a well equipped heavy duty truck for extended trips. Thanks for watching and calling us out haha. We’ll gladly make corrections when we are wrong 😉

@@joeys7519 it will probably be around 2-3mpg. With our regular Bruin the drop is minimal if we stay under 70… going over we have a 1-2 mpg. Hope that helps!

The demo truck is a 6.5 bed but they will make them to fit most sizes.

Yup, they make them for pretty much any bed. Base weight is 450lbs and the starting price is $10,500, which is less than the Project M or Tune M1.

Pretty much non-existent below 70mph. Higher than that and you get a little bit but it’s hardly noticeable.

Ohh we haven't heard about that yet! I know they are doing an all hard sided model. Our new one will still be a Bruin, they've just made quite a few changes/improvements since our old one was built. We'll be getting a few new optional upgrades as well!

Oh neat! Can't wait to see it and your build out. I am holding out on getting a bruin for the xl model hoping I can keep a twin or full size bed in the down position while still standing in the truck bed.. so more bed overhangs the cab while keeping truck bed space more open. 🤞 that's my hope anyway!

I'm guessing the answer is no, but you'll want to reach out to Oru. The roof portion of the camper is standardized so I doubt they would do a custom job.

I have heard accounts from other Oru owners of having their camper up in 55+ mph winds. They could tell it was windy but the camper did fine!

It’s an effort but totally worth it! Would suggest talking to a local rental shop about the type of snowshoes you should use. Ours are built for deep wet snow, conditions may be different wherever you try it first!

We do love our 2nd gen! They can also be a great value these days. Look for a 2015 or newer If you can with the 38 gallon tank. If you do buy an Oru please let them know that you watched our video!

The coaxing to the edge part is a struggle, especially if you don’t have someone else up in the tent to push them out! We’ve switched to a truck top camper since making this video. Much easier now since Porter just sleeps in the truck bed.
