One thing you could consider is foam sheets. You can get them with a higher r value than fiberglass, and you can cut them to fit all sorts of strange shapes with just a knife. Also much easier to remove if you need to weld or make changes.
I would use rock wool insulation instead of spray foam. Fire proof and water proof and wont grow mold or mildew.
I agree with you. Rock wool is a far better solution than spray foam.
@joshua4276 thank you! I will look into it for sure.
I didn’t realize that steel cabooses had wood framing inside.
The rock wool is the way to go for insulation. I will be using it to undate my house starting next year.

Rock wool for sure. Spray foam is very difficult to do anything with once its in.
@Dreamworld986 thanks for your input. 👍
Give Fudge a pat on the head for me. 🥰
@@WilliamCChapin will do!!

@Deadbrokemine thanks this is one of my ideas
Anyway to run the outside portion of the mini split under the caboose, that way people don't see it . Hanging from the bottom of the framework.
@@tacticalrabbit308 i will ask about this option to see if it's possible. I do like the idea.
omg that so cool a wisconsin central caboose are you guys going restore it back into it wisconsin central paint scheme?
Algoma Central
Spray foam does not let critters and insects in
Don't spray foam. It's horrible stuff! Take a look at foar board insulation.
