I helped a guy who's father passed sell a Ameritron AL 80 B and the gentleman that bought it can not get it to key. Everything appears to be normal as far as powering up and so forth but no reaction at all of the key. This is going to be used in a Ham environment on 20 meters. I thought maybe you having "tube" experience may know what direction he should go or may be willing to take a look or know who could. Any help will be appreciated. ✌✌

My Quad 5 Plus has very little rejection and when some of the local Bowl guys get on, they bleed across all of the standard 40. ✌✌

I can hear Fireball splattering up on 38 LSB when he is on channel 6, and that is when I am on my mobile 2000 miles away. Mega splatter box.

Fireball is actually a really good guy. And a respectful operator. If you reached out and told him about the issue, im sure he'd be ammicable and try to fix the issue. To call another person you dont even know "clueless" and an "idiot," is a little much, no? He also just got an amplifier from a guy who gifted it to him and he may be on that. Possibly its misstuned. Because i personally have never seenseem him throw spurs up and down the band. Wide, yes, but no spurs. And thats using an anan 7000dle.

The Superbowl provides one very good contribution to CB radio. It sounds exactly like it had back in the 70's! Tis like going down memory lane! LOL

Very interesting radio I've never seen one before and I've been on the CB 11 meters for the last 31 years and I've also been on the amateur radio for the last 24 years and it's all been a brilliant hobby and I have spoken to some weird and wonderful people some good and some really bad people who caused me alkinds of problems and trouble arguing on channel 19 and alkinds of stuffs happened to myself back on the 11 meters years ago but most of the idiots sold up and these days everything's a lot better compared to years ago but it's all been good fun. Thank you for posting these videos. Brings back great memories. My first CB was a Lafayette Telsat 1000 with a Starduster antenna and a D-104 mic. Before cell phones and computers, all the high school kids used CB radio to talk on channel 18 in my area. We all met on channel 18. Your videos bring back some great memories of all the nice CB folks I met on the radio in the 70's. Here's to Shutterbug, Flash Gordon, Mud Rat, Tennessee Walker, Mako and The Pilgrim. The Pilgrim was my first contact on the CB radio. Channel 20. I nervously said "Break 20" and he took the time to talk to me for a few minutes. Most of them are probably long gone now. They were all nice people.

This video is to me about the best in terms of clarity with more showing and less telling. I built one 4 years ago with some RG-58A/U I had for Ethernet as kind of a joke but the performance has been really great despite the fact that I made the balanced line a bit long and the wire a bit short resulting in 3 spots with a low SWR between 25 and 28MHz. I used a crossbow to get it 100 feet up a fir tree. I can use it on 10, 11, 12, and 15 meters with a tuner but I'm scared to put more than 100 watts into it without rebuilding it. I have better tools now. I'm using 3D printed air chokes to hold the coil form and I haven't had any problems with RFI coming into the shack. I've reached Iceland with a 5 watt WSPR transmission. I thought I'd say thanks for sharing.

Those little Royce 612s are the loudest rig there is, beats Tram D201, Browning Golden Eagle, Cobra 29, 148, Grant XL, or 29?0, 959, you name it, it's a bit tricky to do the NPC but that and one resistor change and it's the kind of loud that gives guys a complex who thought THEY were loud! 👊🤓
