Can they take the hot desert sun?
By chance do you know what could be the issue on a guava tree that has brown edges on the leaves? Im in socal and I give it one deep watering per week. I cant figure out if it needs more or less water.
I accidentally broke the plant will it grow again?? It got good roots.
6 nights below 20F right? So that's like -6C? Well it can survive France winter then nice ! :)
You can’t scratch in the supermarket
Hello! I am wondering to know what tipe of pecan grow well in you gorgeous home property?
To what zone are they cold hardy
Can you ship trees to California?
Hi can is this done from cuttings
What Brand Of Asemite Do you Recommend
I’m using worm gold plus, Tanks Compost peat moss and fox farm soil or that other ocean soil with the bat guano in it as a base. I grow in containers but I plan to plant.
very good, simple video! I love the idea of sand - will add it indeed. Would you consider stones/perlite for drainage & water retention? PS by clay you do mean expanded clay balls or... ?
What type of sand is the best?
The two trees that I mulched heavily last year showed their appreciation this year, their trunks got much bigger, had bigger and much more fruit, so this year I am going crazy with mulching.
Would you please list out the name of the soils, where do we get them
Is this easier to grow than elm? I love elm but heard it can be difficult. Bamboo won't be a bad idea just to resell as it grows?
WHAT THE best to harvest that
U guys grow a mango from the benngerkdj sbsmlsnsmlb
What about apple, peach, oranges and plums can you grow those in containers?
We need one single 100X100 mile agrovoltaic food forest with alternating rows of tall solar panels and trees, a 100 mile long line of grid-scale lithium ion batteries on one edge, and adjacent to that the beginnings of an international scale ultra high voltage long distance direct current power transmission network. And then we also need Tesla FSD (hard AI autonomous mobility software) ported to robots (humanoid and otherwise) and the next gen of farming equipment, to defeat the pruning and harvesting bottleneck that formerly prevented the arbitrarily large, commercial or even national-sized scaling up of the permaculture food forest method of agriculture. Etc.
Don't apologise for the length of the video - it was very interesting..
Do those papayas get heavy soakings in the winter? I always thought they were rot-prone if wet at low temperatures
THANKS, REALLY ENCOURAGING NEWS. AGAIN, WHAT HELPS THE ROOTS? FISH SOMETHING (EMOLTION) & SEAWEED, I JUST COULD NOT UNDERSTAND
I have blazing sun, all day - tree looks fine, flowers, but doesn't fruit.
Thank you!!!
The key is to take the time to learn, and to get into the land and touch the dirt and feel the things grow. It's not possible for everyone to appreciate something like this yard. This really defies rational accepted 'wisdom', but with understanding of your plants and how to arrange them in the yard, and where they are relative to other plants, walls, and protective 'microclimates' the world can be made beautiful, very cool and livable and of course sustainable and affordable and best of all edible. This Dr. Al. took the time to read and learn. He must have been an interesting personality and intellect. The kind of person I envision 18th and 19th century botanists back in Europe being. Having travelled to India, China, Burma Ceylon, Madagascar and New Zealand, they collected specimens and brought them back to learn and develop new strains and hybrids. That was the better side of that time period. Sure there was the Industrialization of Europe too, and the wars and the colonialism and adventurism and conquest that left difficult marks on lands and their peoples to heal from. But I am gratified by the person that learns to accept nature and be a student of nature and willing to listen and take time to appreciate the power that nature has. It's not usually a young man's discipline. But we see a whole new crop of young people deciding to become gardeners and stewards of the Earth.
I regard this video as one of the seminal video's of desert horticulture vis a vis Food Forest horticulture. This should be viewed by every person on the planet twice a year.
Now THAT is a well!!
Update, Plant is looking great and producing new leaf's........@Jeff-xt7xs 1 month ago, I bought a 7 gal. Musa Gold finger from you a few weeks back. Can't wait to watch it grow,.
I imagine the castor plant is to shade the banana from western sun/wind? Any other potential super fast growing candidates that can handle even more heat? Kuwait is a bit hotter than your lovely area (both summers and winters) although castor plants do grow here quite well.
Hello Shamus can I plant avocado, banana, papaya in Italy and they grow?
Do you use a screen overhead on the trees that are outside the greenhouse? what if the very young tree has large leaves that are starting to bend under?
❤... Hello @shamusoleary2139 I recently watched a video (about the Shangri La Mulberry) created by a gentleman named Tim Brown from Las Vegas -- In the video he mentions that you occasionally come to Vegas to sell. Do you still do so?
Yes we do. Please contact 602 558 5804
@@shamusoleary2139 Wonderful. Thank You!
@@shamusoleary2139 ☺️ Awesome, that's great to hear - Thank You!
Seamus a has a mind like a plant and tree dictionary. He knows a lot about important information on how to grow trees and plants.
Isnt that the tai chi guy??
Can anyone identify the white flowers starting @6:20 to 6:24? I can't find anything like them.
You will never run out of money in your life as long as that tree is there in your house.
This looks like what I have going on with my tree. I have had it on a short 2 minute low flow water, but I forgot to turn it off through a few days of rain so it is for sure over watered right now. I'll be turning off my water timer until it starts doing better.
Yep, you got it. We live in fla and we use fish emulsion but our soil is good. We don’t feed heavily nitrogen more on the PK side and we get loads of mangos 🥭. We do use sulfur maybe once a year when we observe it may need it. We have don’t it in years. We are hobbiest but have had good success, and the growers say exactly what you’ve said in this video. We live in Tampa Bay Area close to water.
I’m curious how this has worked out… I just stumbled across this video but from my experience lychee won’t bloom where it’s shaded. I was wondering if you were ever able to obtain any fruit from this tree
Good information. Not as hot as hell on Earth where you are, but it's been 90+ for over a week now in south Florida where mom's 6" potted loquat is. I told her to bury it in the ground so the black plastic doesn't reach 900 Kelvin by 3pm. I will tell her to shade it because it only has a few leaves, and it looks like they are getting cooked. Thanks and..... Very Best Regards, Tom Scott Author ● Speaker ● World's Leading Expert on the Corrupt U.S. Legal System _Stack the Legal Odds in Your Favor_ _Our American Injustice System_
I have a tree in shade between two houses and it fruits LIKE CRAZY
Tnx alot
Beautiful view of the yard ❤
I have a newly planted tree in a big pot.. but water was not getting drained (now fixed) but water smelled really bad... i removed lots of soil and let it dry... 2 days already.. so soil looks dry.. should I water it already?
Thank you. My 4 year old tree from seed just gave up recently lol
I follow my Aunt’s example, and prune loquats back to 4 feet. Loquats bear on new wood. With four trees, I can cut all four back every year, and not experience a light crop. I do try to thin the center of the tree as I’ve been told that light helps the more shaded fruit towards the center of the tree ripen. You’re not doing that in Arizona because of the intense UV. Thinning the center is also recommended if your loquat trees get mildew (mine don’t). It helps no matter what height you want to maintain to keep on top of cutting out suckers and water sprouts as these don’t bear fruit. Pruning the trees back to 4 feet each year helps me in harvesting without the use of a ladder. It also makes thinning the developing fruit clusters easier.
Where can I find these is PHOENIX???
