January Recap, Challenges, Books & Study #TheCandyReadingChallenge2025
In this video I recap some of January’s reading, books and my study for a diy literature degree. January’s reading prompt for the candy reading challenge 2025 was “Reopen Retell” which for me was a great reading prompt running alongside a study of the genre of fairy tales.

Thank You Candy ❤, it's such a huge topic exploring the twists and turns of the fairy tales. Looking at them so differently, to may be embrace the shadow of simply reading them for insights either or. You have helped me decide in March to celebrate end of winter to do some deep dives into the shadow aspects of fairy tales to let go and return back with new energies into Spring.Thank you. I am reading David Copperfield again. You have a wonderful way with words and inspiring too.❤
Gosh the telling of little red riding hood in the way that almost victim blames is so shocking but sadly not really cus I still see this rhetoric irl today. Shocking how se*ualised the story is as well tho
❤❤❤❤
Please see my correction in the responses below -- I feel absolutely terrible. I seriously maligned the man in the most awful way. He was a Freudian and he blamed mothers but I got it backwards -- he was a victim of fascism -- not a perpetrator. I feel as though I should light a candle for him and formally apologize. 😟
@@aspasiarising4732 Beth thank you so much for sharing the correction ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love you talking about all off this. In the meanwhile havent started to reading here. Enjoying the books off Alana Fairchild. Like usual to many projects in my mind 😂
Oh I hear you with the too many projects. I’ve been doing housework all day today and that alone feels enough to stop me reading for weeks ❤️❤️❤️
Firstly, that necklace is gorgeous and looks fabulous on you! 😍 I love that you’re creating a time line for, and reading multiple versions of, the Little Red Riding Hood story-that SO sounds like something I would do (in fact I have more or less done that with the tale of King Arthur and Camelot). 🙂 Oh my goodness, I had no idea about the lack of an ending in Red Riding Hood! I actually picked up an older copy at a used book sale a while ago but haven’t read it yet, so thanks for the warning! I adore The Company of Wolves and the film based on it, which I re-watch every year at Halloween time.
Yes I want to watch the film of a company of wolves too I’ve not seen it. Thank you Donna you Arthurian study sounds amazing ❤️
Absolutely loved this video, so interesting to hear your thoughts. My book wish list is growing fast 😂
Tanya thank you so much for watching. I hope the tbr isn’t influenced too much ❤️
Ooh so many thoughts Candy!! I love what you’re doing, it’s fascinating to hear all about it - I knew the original tales were much darker than we grew up hearing them as, but not quite that bad! I can post you For the Throne as whilst I enjoyed them, they won’t be a re-read for me 😊 Unlike the Lunar Chronicles - almost at the end of book 3 & still loving them! I’ve been listening through the library app but will definitely need to own these. It’s a shame you can’t see people’s choices for your reading challenge on StoryGraph, I assumed you could. I went with the Wren in the Holly Library by K.A. Linde, I got a cheap copy off WOB as I was completely drawn in by the cover 😂 Lacking any vampire books on my shelf (trying not to buy for this challenge) I went with it as it uses monster in the description. Made a good start of it yesterday & there are vampires in this world! 🥳 Not sure yet if any will feature in the story, but they’re there so I’ll take it 🤣 I was right there thinking I’d like to read that last Red Riding Hood story until you got to the (not) end - why would they do that! 🙈
Vampires somewhere in the world gets a green light for sure! Love that you aren’t buying for the challenge adapt any prompt how you want to make sure you aren’t pushed into buying when you don’t want to. The more crazy the link to a prompt the funnier it will be! 🙌 but you have to tell me so I can giggle. Aww are you sure about for the Throne. I havnt ordered it yet as i was hoping to stumble on it in a charity shop at some point. Ooo I’m so stoked you jumped into the lunar chronicles. When you have had a series stay with you and you’ve loved it so much to know somebody else is reading it too is such a blast ❤️❤️❤️❤️
@ Absolutely! You will need to send me your address again though, i assumed it would still be in Instagram chat but the chat has gone, it was a few years ago 🤣 I don’t think it’s possible to message privately through YT is it? The book would be heading to charity shop anyway, I only tend to keep books I will re-read or are of sentimental value. Oh and art books of course! And reference books. 🤣
Holly I just messaged on insta. Yeah UA-cam has no private chat
I’m so glad you’ve made a follow up video on this - I loved the idea of this study when you first mentioned it! These stories are so much a part of my childhood (inner child work time!). Grimm’s fairytales was a staple - an early version that had been my mum’s childhood book - and I distinctly remember the part about the stones in the stomach! Your reviews of the retellings are really helpful as I was thinking of reading these. The Wolf Wilder story reminds me of the Wolfwatchers animated movie. Except that was set in Ireland and included some commentary on the loss of early pagan traditions there. (Was a brilliant movie btw and a real tear-jerker!). Many blessings 💖
Thank you so much for watching…. that movie sounds fabulous ❤️
I live about 2hrs away from where the Brothers Grimm collected and recorded the fairy tales. The background story I know for “Rotkäppchen” (Little Red Ridinghood) is that it originates during the time of Christianisation. People in Europe were Christianised via their secular leaders - because the Christian missionaries gave them a moral justification to grab the land, enrich themselves and make commoners tenant farmers under the guise of turning “heretics” towards future salvation . People were resistant. But the rulers needed physically fit people as peasants and soldiers. But they did not need the older people who could not work anymore and at the same time knew the old religion AND social order best. Therefore they made an example by going after the old. To protect the old, people sent them to hide into the forest and sent their very young children to bring them food, while everyone else was working. However, those in power (I think it was mostly the Merowinger Kings in the Grimms area) sent their soldiers into the forest to look for the hiding places. They would ingratiate themselves to the children to manipulate them into telling them the hiding places. Little Red Ridinghood is a story that warns children not to trust strangers, even if they seem to be nice. It essentially warns them of grooming. There are lots of variations. But in none of the versions I know, is the wolf supposed to be a real animal. It’s quite clear that the really dangerous animals in the dark woods are humans pretending to be nice.
That is absolutely brilliant thank you so very much for sharing this! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
So enjoyed your book discussion. The moral at the end of the Perrault version of Red Riding Hood is interesting. Aside from the obnoxious chauvinism of the "especially if she's pretty" comment, I think those kind of warnings probably were needed and hopefully helped children. It was a kind of stranger danger meant for children whose parents at that time weren't able to watch over them very carefully. I'm currently reading "Seeking Faery" by Emily Carding (she created Tarot of the Sidhe). I read "Uses of Enchantment" by Bruno Bettelheim years ago. He has since been outed as a Nazi sympathizer, but I remember finding his psychological observations about fairy tales very interesting.
Oh I have his book on my shelves. I had no idea about his lack of humanity that’s so saddening. I think these tales bring to light how fast children were pushed into fending for themselves in the past for sure ❤️
Oh no, I also picked up Uses of Enchantment recently at a charity shop and had no idea of the author’s leanings. 😢 It seems I am finding out new, disturbing information on a regular basis about authors, especially favorite writers from the fantasy genre. It’s been unsettling.
@@CandySoulAndSoil OK MY BAD seriously bad on me. I had it backwards -- Bettelheim was a Jewish psychologist who was IMPRISONED in a Nazi concentration camp. He also was an early writer on autism. I feel HORRIBLE. I've done him a great disservice and really, I used to be a journalist???? What a terrible mistake to make.

@@aspasiarising4732 aww Beth don’t worry it happens thank you so much for the clarification ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I loved this video Candy! I did a whole section of a degree on Little Red Riding Hood, and created several installations, and made books. So much wealth to be found in the many layers of this story. Jack Zipes is brilliant! I recommend the poem by Ann Sexton in her book Transformations too. LRRH has always been my favourite fairy tale, but I also love Rapunzel... We need a fairy tale based book club! Thank you.
Ooo thank you I’ll look up that poem and how strange Rapunzel is my next planned tale to study! We must have the same taste ❤️
@@CandySoulAndSoil I found some other books on my shelf you may like, From the Beast to the Blonde by Marina Warner sticks in my mind... it is old, a lot of them are, I've had most of them over 25 years, but that one is a goodie. I have a lifelong obsession with towers, and hair lol, long hair! I love the themes that run through these stories. One fairy tale I cannot read is Blue Beard. I first read it when I was about 5, before I started school. We had a big blue hardback fairy tale book with gold fancy lettering on the spine, the dust jacket was long lost. It was too old for me but I didn't know. Blue Beard scared me so much that I threw the book out of my bedroom window, into the night believing it would be gone forever, but it kept reappearing on the bookshelf. I did the same every night, until it stayed away. I could not have it in the house with me. Ive been looking for fairy tale challenges on Storygraph too. I haven't used it much and am still finding my way around, as I have always tracked my reading old style in my reading journal, but I love all the graphs and charts etc! This video is ancient, but you cam see some of my Little red Riding Hood stuff I think... ua-cam.com/video/RsHDRiyN9dE/v-deo.html Oh and I love the sound of the DIY Degree, would love a video about that. I often set myself things, but don't often finish what I start! Thanks again!
Thank you, Candy! ❤️🎀🌹🍉🍄🐺
You are so welcome Tina ❤️❤️
@CandySoulAndSoil The resurrectionists is a UA-cam channel that dives into the histories of different fairy tales. I think you would really enjoy it. I read a retelling of snow white by Jonathan Pageau. It's beautifully illustrated. It's not a full novel though. 🤍❤️
Wow! You’ve accomplished so much study work for Little Red Riding Hood, I love it! I had been told repeatedly that the original fairy tales were much darker than the ones we’d been told, but I don’t recall that telling of Little Red Riding Hood 😮 I’m currently rereading Dracula and have just filmed a Fanguary video (which I might post tonight) I’m having a blast! 🧛🏻♂️ ❤
Ooo I can’t wait to watch it Rachel. I’m loving fanguary too and I’m so surprised I am ❤️
@ I’m so glad you created the tag! Ok, I think I’ll post it tonight then!
have you read bruno bettelheim's the uses of enchantment: the meaning and importance of fairy tales? I have it on my to be read shelf so will hopefully be getting to it this year but I realized the other day that my copy has an illustration from little red riding hood on the cover and I thought oh, I should have read it last month! (I read lucy cavendish's magickal faerytales, which was also on my to be read shelf). anyway, bettelheim's book is apparently analyzing fairy tales through a freudian lens and little red riding hood is one of the ten he goes into detailed analysis of. ps, I thought of you yesterday when I was buying books at the thrift store and paid $11 for only THREE books (with a 20% discount!). I was like, candy could have bought these for 2 pounds! I'm moving to the UK in a couple of years and can't wait. one was a penguin classics copy of frankenstein, because I just read dracula for your reading challenge and thought, well, I may as well read frankenstein as well! and one was a hardback copy of alice in wonderland illustrated by yayoi kusama - I have a copy of alice in wonderland already but absolutely could not resist.
Ooo the charity shop books sound amazing. Yes the Charity shops I have around me are amazingly cheap but that’s not always the case from town to town. Yes I have the uses of enchantment on my bookshelf waiting I sounds amazing ❤️❤️
I came to suggest Bettelheim, amazing! Also Jack Zipes and Marie-Louise Von Franz are brilliant, the latter especially for the psychological aspects.
For this month's challenge, I'm reading So Thirsty by Rachel Harrison--really enjoying it so far! It's a vampire novel that doesn't read like horror, and I love that it centers around a friendship between two women.
Ooo that sounds amazing ❤️
it's amazing how archetypal and rich these ancient stories are. I love red riding hood - I wrote a poem about it, with a theme that sort of anticipated the whole woman choosing a bear vs a man thing - red riding hood is very much connected to the woods and it's the woodcutters coming in that are the danger. my daughter is an artist and she illustrated it for me in a little book that is one of my most prized possessions. just the fact that there is so much in these stories to be mined even as times change, and the way that we still ensure our children are familiar with them.
I so agree it’s such a rich network of rabbit holes to fall into. Thank you so much for watching, I love that project of your poem being illustrated by your daughter. How precious ❤️
Source material and re tellings are always interesting to read next to each other and use them as comparisons. You certainly are knocking your challenges out of the park! I do enjoy the way your talk about your books:)
Aww thank you Julie. It’s been such a great reading month ❤️
@@CandySoulAndSoil looks like it too!
Source material and re tellings are always interesting to read next to each other and use them as comparisons. You certainly are knocking your challenges out of the park!
What an interesting in-depth video! Loved listening to all these nitty-gritty details about different versions of it. The Donkey Skin.. yes, it's smt else. I remember reading it as child, and weirdly loving it (the version I had at least), even though I was creeped out by the beginning of the story. But the fact that the princess stood up, ie escaped and forged herself a new path, that was such a badass thing for me as a kid. Knowing what's right (and what's wrong), and acting upon it... it's not something lots of princesses do in fairytales. As for the challenge, I read "The Girl Who Fell Beneath The Sea" by Axie Oh for January. It's a retelling of Korean myth(s?), some of which rang a bell, but the main story was new to me. So this is where I admire you, Candy - for starting from the original(s), and then reading the retellings. I went in at the deep end, and I can't say I enjoyed it. Not as much as I had anticipated anyways. So sadly I'm not a fan of the book. And since it was such a slow burn I only managed to get 1 book read in January. 😔 Now, February is a different story, I'm doing my WITCH-UARY🧙♀️😇 iso Fang-uary, and I'm so incredibly excited. Started the Shadow Bright And Burning, and I've got a few books delivered in the coming days, so it'll be definitely more than 1 book for this month. Can't wait to read Nettle and Bone, In The Company of Witches, and Payback's a Witch.
Oooo so exciting that you are reading witchy books…. Hold that thought there’s something coming later in the year on that theme here too. I think big collections of fairy tales are a hard read I know I found the Charles Perrault book difficult to read beginning to end which I did. I much preferred taking one tale at a time and studying it with easier read Retellings. So I’m impressed you persevered ❤️❤️
Yay 🎉 fairytale retelling. What fun to revisit favorites. They are always a bit melancholy even when they were happy endings. Oh that wolf necklace is gorgeous. I love the in-depth study. ❤ isn’t it sad that back in history they looked upon children as just little adults not needing much protection. And the double meanings is interesting. I’m learning a lot! I love how you notice color and moons in books.
Isn’t it bleak sometimes in fairy tales how children were approached in the writing. Thank you so much for watching ❤️
Finished watching your video, and now facebook just shown me a new oracle deck by Sharon Blackie and Amanda Clarke named The Fairytale Heroine. Talk about coincidences!!!!
with red riding hood on the cover of the box! and sharon blackie wrote if women rose rooted - weren't you reading that, candy? I read it and had some real issues with it, but the oracle deck looks fantastic.
I just ran to see and the oracle looks amazing! I have the rose rooted oracle and loved it the book yes I was reading it but put it down and haven’t started it again yet ❤️
It's always such a pleasure to listen to you talk about practically anything! This was a very interesting topic, but I feel like you could talk about the most boring thing in the world and make it a worthwhile watch with the way you choose your words and masterfully paint a picture with them. True artist through and through! All the best from Poland :)
That’s such a beautifully kind comment thank you so much I appreciate it ❤️❤️
Do you still use this deck often? A deck with this level of atypical imagery might not be lasting, I fear. I don't want to spend like 80 quid on a deck I only use for a few weeks or so. While one testimony doesn't define anything, I know, but I wanted your opinion as you feel so positive about the deck.
Do you know I havnt really used it much but to be honest I don’t know if that’s commentary on the deck or the fact I’ve got so many decks it’s hard to get to them all. What I have used it for ice loved it and outs this year too for another rerun of use. I think it’s a case of deciding if you will or could connect with the strangeness of the imagery isn’t it. If you feel it could add something extra in the tarot meanings will be there anyway. For me I think the imagery feels like a bonus and I have to say I am looking forward to using it again this year. Hope that helps it’s always a gamble with decks costing so much isn’t it ❤️
I feel so much better about my own paper and scrap stash now - I never thought to call it an apothecary. 😀
🥳❤️
Just been binging your book case tours over the past few days and loved it! Do you happen to know The Cambridge Companion to the Arthurian Legend by Elizabeth Archibald and Ad Puttet? I wonder whether it’s a useful book to accompany the Hallowquest, once I restart it. It’s expensive though, so not one to order unless I’m sure about it.
Oh I’m glad you enjoyed them. Oh I dont know that companion book no sorry ❤️
You could probably write a much better book on garden witchery than the ones you’ve got there.
You could probably write a much better book on garden witchery than the ones you’ve got there.
Imagine that… how fun would that be ❤️❤️
Oooh! I happen to be reading the Mothman Prophecies--is that vampire-adjacent enough? 😆 It actually does speak to phenomena that's led to vampire lore. But anyway, you know how I feel about my vamps (and one in particular 😘), so your 'pile of possibilities' is fang-tastic--thank you! And good for you keeping to the reading pace that you *want* to do versus feel pressured to by online expectations. Books are for the soul and savouring. 🖤 Meanwhile, I'll be giving my nod to this theme via TV this month, hoping to start the Interview with the Vampire series and OF COURSE rewatching Buffy! ❤🔥
Rumer yes to that book. Definitely close enough ❤️❤️
I'm halfway though dracula, which I've never read before (though I saw nosferatu recently) and I'm enjoying it. creepy though! a vampire book I read last year that's got quite a different spin on it and I really loved was the god of endings by jacqueline holland.
Ooo I’ll check that one out. I’ve loved Dracula way more than I could ever have guessed 🧛❤️
Sinking into a book.. yes 🙏🏻this is my style. I'm having an ongoing relationship with Frankenstein, which is lasting years. Funnily, i just stocked up on vampy books, and im reading Dracula without knowing about this tag, so I'm feeling the vibe. 🖤
@DeerPriestess oh love that synchronicity. Honestly I’m so loving Dracula 🧛
Hello Candy, I'm also joining in this Vampire challenge reading a four-set of books by Geneva Lee called Filthy Rich Vampires. Never read these type of books before...a bit more modern day shall we say.
Oh that’s another new recommendation so many books out there. Let me know what you think that’s so exciting ❤️❤️❤️🧛
I’ve started Dracula for Fang February! I honestly can’t remember if I’ve read this before or not 😂. Some passages feel very familiar, but still I can’t be sure. I felt like this would be a safe selection since many vampire books are kinda steamy and romance heavy, which isn’t my jam. Im living the reading challenge so far!
Aww I’m so glad you are enjoying it. I’m blown away by Dracula so far! ❤️🧛
Fanguary is so intriguing! I already locked in Certain Dark Things by Silvia Moreno-Garcia for my first read. It is a bit of a cyberpunky twist on Vampires. But I might also pick up Dowry of Blood by S. T. Gibson, a retelling about/of Dracula's Wives, if I have the time. Thank you so much for hosting this challenge! 😊
Ooo I’ll check both of those out how awesome ❤️❤️
Oh I love the idea of the 1001 books book - I hate that it has American Psycho on the cover. For me that's one of the books I wish I HADN'T read before I die! I'll definitely keep an eye out for that one in the second hand shops. I love a list and some ticking off a list. The extra detail and chronological arrangement looks great.
Lol at the airmail envelope for Wuthering Heights on that poster!
It’s a great resource …. I know what’s the envelope about?
I appreciate you giving suggestions for what we could choose to read for the prompts. I had my Anne Rice and Vampire phase about 20 years ago and I thought I might use my wildcard for this prompt. But when I looked up some of your suggestions, I came across an absolutely adorable graphic novel with a vampire, which I ordered for my daughter’s birthday 😅 Can you actually see which person adds which books to the challenge prompts on StoryGraph?
I can’t see who adds what no but I can see the books and I spot the cute vampire graphic novel ! It looks gorgeous!!! 🧛❤️
Ohhh i have read so many Vampire novels over the years ( commenting as i’m watching) Oh booktube gets you like that 😂 it will settle down 😊 Oh Anne Rice! Fabulous 🎉 she started off my Vampire reading journey. I have Dracul too OMG! Scarlet! I have read this is was great, i just bought book two 😊 House of night series is good too. What a great stash! 🎉
House of night I just looked at it… there are so many books! Scarlet has a book 2 that’s so interesting. Can’t wait to get to it ❤️🧛
@@CandySoulAndSoil I read the first couple and really enjoyed them :)
Let the right one in us such a good movie! I think the original one is better though. There's a Swedish one and an American one. And they made a TV series of it too (haven't seen that.) Didn't know there was a book. The night world books are likely not as popular since LJ Smith also did the vampire diaries, which is her popular series. I'm happy the theme is vampires, I had just picked up my Buffy the vampire slayer book "Halloween Rain" to finish (i started that in October.) And the vampire diaries book 1.
Oh that’s great information to know thank you and I’m so glad you are liking the theme ❤️
I would absolutely watch a video of you discussing just Dracula-especially because I’m reading it as well! I am halfway through. It’s a re-read - I wanted to refresh myself on the story in prep for seeing the Nosferatu film. THAT hasn’t happened yet but I’m thoroughly enjoying Dracula. I’d forgotten a lot from when I read it in high school. Also, I saw the movie adaptation of Let the Right One In- it was very unsettling.
I can’t believe just how much I’m loving Dracula! It’s so good!!!!
@@CandySoulAndSoil Right?!
The Historian is amazing.. One of the best. ♥♥
Agreed!
Ooo that’s so good to know ❤️
I loooved the Cambridge Companion to Gothic Literature. It’s good fun. 💜
I’ve learnt so much already and I’m not even out of the intro… although that might be more a comment on me rather than how good the book is 😂❤️
Ooooh I like the look of the Dacre Stoker books. I’ll keep an eye out for them. I’m reading Hellsing, a manga series for teens. They are fun and mad😂 There’s 10 in the series but so quick to read I may manage all of them while I’m waiting for my daughter to finish The Pallbearers Club by Paul Tremblay.
I love that you read and share with your daughter ❤️
Hi candy, love vampire books. At the moment I’m reading the wild grove series. I’m on the 3d books. It’s about Druid and pagan path. Gods and goddesses, Macca, Ellen of the ways. All in the present day. ❤
Ooo you know I’m racing off to look at those books it sounds awesome are you enjoying them? ❤️
@ yes I am candy. And I’ve watched your channel for a long time and enjoy your content.
Amanda thank you ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m so ready for Fanguary! Oy, I keep forgetting to add my books to StoryGraph. I hear you: the only reason I read 2 books for the first prompt was because they were part of a series, and very easy reads. I’ll also be lucky if I read one vampire book in February, but that’s ok! ❤ I can’t believe you found Cambridge Companion to Gothic Fiction for such a bargain! Love it.
Rachel I am so glad you are joining in and oh boy your lady video was fire.🔥 you so need to release that writing as a book ❤️
@ I’ll probably film a video soon going over what I read for the January prompt and ideas for Fanguary. So much fun! Thank you for the compliments on my writing 😊💕
I joined your challenge a bit late in the month so I’m slightly behind, but I should be able to finish my January book (Wicked) by Feb 2, so not too bad. Additionally, even though I said I wouldn’t, I ended up joining Ben’s challenge as well. 😂 I decided to use his challenge to knock out as many as I can from the 1001 Books to Read Before etc. But I’m limiting myself to one book per month for each challenge which should be achievable for me without getting stressful. Above all I want to enjoy my reading experiences! For Fang-uary I’m reading “Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter” which is a ridiculous-sounding premise, I know, but I’ve heard that it’s really good! 🙂
Donna that’s awesome though I’m trying to do both too. ❤️
Wasn't sure if I could commit to your challenge so I've decided to combine it with my 2025 goal of memorizing more poetry! A section from Byron's The Giaour for this month <3 🧛🏼♀
That’s absolutely awesome I love that goal ❤️
This may be a bit long and rambly. Sorry in advance! I'm happy to say I succeeded in January! I'm on Storygraph, and I'm the one who added The Wren in the Holly Library to the challenge book list. It's a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, and I loved it! Also, I completely agree about not pressuring yourself to read more, more, more. Reading is by nature a slow activity. We have to take our time in moving our eyes over the words, taking in their meaning, and thinking about/imagining the images the author is trying to evoke. If you ever come across books by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, I'd recommend checking them out. She has a lengthy series about Saint-Germain, a vampire who roams the world for millennia, searching for a place to belong. Her books are more historical fiction with a supernatural bent than horror. Each book takes place in a different historical period and different part of the world, and it's generally the humans who are the monsters. It's very gentle horror that immerses the reader in the time and place with lush detail. The books are stand-alone as well, so you can read them in any order.
Oh, and David J. Skal has another book you might want to add to your literature studies! He was a well-known scholar in the horror field, and his book The Monster Show might be of interest. It explores the cultural history of horror and how horror reflects big social crises.
Brilliant advice and pointers and recommendations I can’t tell you how grateful I am for these comments ❤️🧛 I’m going to check it all out ❤️
oh so many books! LOL. i am also reading dracula for feb. never read it before. and i am reading interview with a vampire if i have time. i feel the same about not rushing. by the way, that book let the right one in is translated from swedish and, if you do watch the movie, i recommend the original swedish version. it is magnificent. scary, yes, but not scream scary just really good scary. is there such a thing? hihi. have a great feb reading month candy.
Laurika thank you for the recommendations. That’s so helpful. Have you started Dracula yet! I don’t think I’ve ever been more suprised by a book! I’m LOVING it! 🧛
@@CandySoulAndSoil yes i have! and i absolutely LOVE it. i was super sceptical. hihi
How is it February already?!! It’s the only month I didn’t have something on the shelf I could fit into, but I do have one that claims a “monster” so I might just go with that! Loving how many options you have 😂
Holly you know I also overcater food for guests too! I have no amount awareness 😂 monster book sounds awesome ❤️
