your poncho really matches your lights! I am currently working through a decades-long backlog of to-be-read books that I own. I want to read them all so I can just use the library or get a book and read it and be free from the pressure of books I haven't read sitting on my shelf. the shelf has varied from 50 - 70 books for the last 26 years, and there are some books that have been on there for over 20 years. I have tried and failed in the past but this year I got serious about it, banned myself from the library, reorganized it by length of time they've been sitting, and made a spreadsheet with images of the covers on it. I won't clear it this year, but I have made progress and I think I can do it next year. then I'll be free to do reading tags!
I love this Candy! What a fantastic idea! I love the Crime at Christmas book! 🥰 I have a whole shelf of Christmas murder mystery books (murder mystery being my favourite genre and all!) and the For the Wolf book! 🤩😍🤩 Wow! Great thrifted book haul & I l♡ve the spell idea 💡 I'm here for all of your content! 🤗 Happy Saturday to you!
@@feedingmysoul1212 aww that’s so kind of you. Murder mystery is almost completely new to me really. Thank you lovely it’s been a great Saturday it’s my birthday and I took the kids to see wicked at the cinema and I’m still not back on earth after the magic of it ❄️💙

Such an exciting project. I loved the Snow Queen so much I’ve gone straight to eBay to buy it. I adored that story as a child. Little Women was the first book to make me weep as a young girl. And no my darling, you will never be niche; thank goodness!
Aww little women is a book I think that can survive being a yearly re read and I can Remeber weeping as a teenager over it but Charlotte’s web is the first book that broke me 🖤
I live the cover of the Val McDermid. I recognise Angela Hardinge's work. She does beautiful work. ❤😊 I like Dilly Court's books. What a brilliant haul for this time of year.
Love the seasonal book and shelf idea. All books with winter scenes. That’s a good charity book rate. The dickens series sounds wonderful. Gonna look for that dickens larger book. In school I took women’s literature and began to read those books that today is gothic lit. There are so many now to read! Love both books and tarot in the gothic style. What a book haul !
Hans Fallada - I have read a few of hus books. 'Alone in Berlin' was nade into a film which is very good. It is based on a true story.I love books about people's experience during the war from the Gernan as well as British perspective. The way in which ordinary people coped never ceases to amaze me. ❤
I listened to the audio version of The Bear and the Nightingale a few years back over the winter months and loved it so much. It is the first part of a trilogy but it can definitely be read as a standalone, I have yet to read the other two books and don't feel like I'm missing out. It is full of references to Russian myths and mythical creatures which was really interesting.
Fantastic ideas. I’ve set myself the challenge of reading all the books on my bookshelves that I’ve bought in charity shops over the years before buying any more. It’s going to be so hard but I bought them for a reason 😂😂. Good luck with your reading challenges x
Love all your videos! Some fabulous books. I'll be heading to the charity shop on Monday with my tenner to see what I can find. Excited about the fairy tales for January. I have a few fairy tale books on my Christmas wish list, fingers crossed for those. I hope Storm Bert is being kind to you xxx

@CandySoulAndSoil Happy Birthday 🎂 I hope it's a good one! No snow for me 😕 just endless rain, I'm on the south coast in Kent, we hardly ever get the white stuff. Boo hoo! 😭
Love seeing & hearing about all your interests in one place Candy! What a fabu6book haul, and whilst I'm much slower to get through them I'm definitely going to dip into idea of seasonal shelves! Only book there I know is For The Wolf - loved it & eagerly picked up book 2 afterwards (pretty sure it ended at 2). Some great sounding reads there 🧡😊xXx
Candy, so savvy! I was recently recommended a book and I immediately went to Amazon, but I paused and instead asked my daughter to pick it up for me from the library. So many beautiful books waiting to be enjoyed! #smartshopper
Hi candy great books, great idea to read. Gets people of their phones and to. Love your content what ever you do. Happy birthday hope you have a lovely day. What ever you do❤
I think you will like Kate Atkinson's Jackson Brodie books. She explores the characters involved in the cases. I love her writing. She also is brilliant at evoking a sense of place.😊❤❤
Jayne Eyre - one of my all-time favourites. Also 'A 'Christmas Carol'. I always read Dicken's ghost stories around Christmas. ❤❤😊 I believe books call to us. I worked in libraries for years and numerous times I would pick a book off the shelves and ittold a story that ws set in an area i was familiar with and its message was relevant to my life at that time. That's Magick. ❤😊 Winter reading - 'Winter Solstice' by Rosamund Pilcher. A blast from the past for me - Jostein Gaardner 'Sophie's World' a brilliant introduction to Philosophy. My Philosophy tutor recommended it at college.
Yes, I can’t afford new books or hardcovers either! I don’t mind. I like getting something a little quirky usually (like the cover) or used, it feels comforting knowing it’s pre-loved or been around for a while (ie: old) 😂❤ 📚 with books it really is what’s on the inside that counts anyway
I completely feel literature has always been part of my magical practice but I also feel I haven’t read enough of the classics. I do love A Christmas Carol - my dad got me this beautiful antique copy when I was younger - but plenty of other Dickens I’ve never read and i literally want to reread any classics and goth literature etc that i have read and then also read what I haven’t. I feel I’m totally with u on the journey - lol slowly!!! Only just finished Frankenstein ❤❤❤ it’s so fun… loving your ideas and adventures. Sending u warm blessings lovely 🥰 Xxx
Thank you for sharing these books, Candy. I've jotted down a few of them to read. If you ever dive into the magical realism genre, I strongly suggest "The Last Report on the Miracles at Little No Horse" by Louise Erdrich and "Dona Flor and Her Two Husbands" by Jorge Amado.
Hi Candy i go to thrift stores. But on fb there was a book called stoner looked very interessant and you know what. It was too expensive. I want to a thriftstore and guess what i found ...it! Last week
