- Work in progress on the new GBStudio sprite editor. While making this I realised you could probably set the sprite size to full screen and make animated cutscenes, seems to work quite well! The feature is subject to change but it's starting to take shape :-)
This is a good thing to start my morning with. Aside from cereal of course.
After getting more into the program and learning about a lot of what I can do, this gives me so many ideas for what I can make for some of my games. I even bought a modified GBA so I could play some creations on it.
That's a bit mind blowing that is.
..........WOW......
I can't wait! GB Studio is absolutely outstanding as is, you are 100% taking it to the next level, the games made with the next update are going to be amazing!
Thank you so much!
Thanks for your awesome work man. I started using GB Studio since 3 weeks ago and I'm addicted :-)
Great Work Chris and just in Time ! my Sister and I are going to start development on our first Game soon. :D Thanks for such and awesome tool.
Cool! What’s it gonna be about?
Thanks for asking Max, Is going to be a "Persona-like" rpg set on a medieval Germany.
Excited for the next update! Than you for making making my first steps into game dev so accessible!
I love your work keep it up
Looking forward to it!
love it! I will have to redo my current project from the ground up what with all these new features you are adding to blow my mind!
Ballin, time for Kirby style cutscenes.
Bigger sprites? That's what I want 😍
Finally, I won't need to sync up massive sprites anymore
Keep it up. Can’t wait for the new update!
Can't wait!
Oh this is great
Looks great
A sprite editor and bigger sprites? I need to work my patience i can't wait!
I've been working on a fairly ambitious project, which I'm uploading devlogs for on my channel. One problem I'm encountering is trying to make a system for money, since a single variable can only go to 255. I wish there were more guides for help.
Use more variables. For example: use $42$ for numbers 0-9 (let's say it's currently set to 8), and $43$ for the 10s (currently set to 22) , and then whenever you need it to say how much money you have write it like this in a dialogue box "$43$$42$". This example would display as 228. You can use even more than 2 variables if you need more than max 999 money
@@6radley798 Yeah, I plan on making the max at least $999,999. It's a bit of a pain to figure things out when there are very few guides.
you could add some kind of bank
Well done!
Wait wait... These aninated scenes can be made into scenes?!?!?!?!?
This is really cool.any further progress on the next version of gb studio? :D
Please animated cutscenes!
Yeah but you can do that by yourself I think
Epic
Is this out in the latest build yet?
a question: the option is aslo for the normal sprites animation?
Hey Chris! Question: will you be able to have different palettes for the different segments of the completed sprite?
It looks like it. When he selects the sprite pieces there’s a thing that says “obj palette”
@@MaxOakland Cool, and thanks. Your posts on the discord have been super helpful in understanding the engine & what's coming.
Please!! I'm so excited for the next update!!
Will the 8x8 sprites be supported? 8x16 seems to be bit much for most games.
plus animation with big sprite
I have a question does the game by color mode support it like a game boy color enhancement or game boy color exclusive?
Like you can play the same cartridge on both a regular game boy and a game boy color
Estoy esperando la próxima actualización de GB Studio, todo un pro el Chris
I'm not sure if it's done yet, but I think the new version is available
Ill love thid
Very Nice :)
YES
it looks like it finally supports more than 16x16 which means characters can finally be 16x32 which FINALLY means that i can make big mario! when it comes out at least
wait. Wait. WAIT. *WAAAIIIT* 32 PIXEL TALL SPRITES?!?!?
I know it will perfect for my game if that is true
when is this going to release?
now we have nes maker and gb maker nice
who is still waiting xdxdxd
