This project is crazy! How did you figure out how to write to a rom?
Hes the creator of gbstudio. (The software this project is made in) also roms can still be written in assembly and c+ like it was done in the 90s
In the 90s games for the gb were made purely in assembly. Since around 2001 there is a project called Game Boy Development Kit (or GBDK) that compiles C code to Z80 assembly. And GB Studio uses that to create roms.
It also seems to be easier than ever to get games onto physical carts with $4 bootleg carts from aliexpress and a ~$50 cart flasher.
Can I do a zelda or castlevania style game in this software?
