I love that. Im like that a bit, if someone says something needs fixing I whip out the PB Swiss and bore them with my thoughts on bit geometry and quality. Mine is still rock solid and no creak or issues what so ever.
You’ve completely sold me on this little driver. I will say, as someone who uses tools everyday and also has old ones that my grandfather used, I have some screwdrivers with that material that just smell horrible. I can’t stand it. The vanilla additive thing seems like a fantastic fix although I wish they just found a way to use a different chemical. Also, your detailed rambling is very enjoyable to listen to, and I can’t wait to check out other videos you have. I love stuff like this. Thanks!
First in the States to receive the PB Swiss Insider Stubby. Rreturned it because the Bit Cap was so loose, it opened if turned upside down 🙃. Caps need to be *threaded* to stay locked 🔓, like the 1st edition Pocket Insider Tool!
That's terrible! I have the stubby and it's solid as a rock. I know there was a bad batch of the stubby that went out where the gap between the cap and body of the driver was bigger than it should be resulting in it looking bad but also functioning badly. I hope they resolve it for you as mine feels silky and locks in solid.
I think it is the acetate in handles that smell after a while. Wera can end up smelling a long with any handle containing acetate. PB Swiss do indeed add the vanilla smell to mask this. That is the attention to detail that the Swiss go to.
i just received mine. However, there’s a rattle when i put a bit in. seems like the magnet is loose and it rattles making it really annoying. Does yours have any rattle when you shake it? with the bit in.
WOW I'm surprised at that there is no rattle with mine. Ive just sat on the floor here violently shaking the driver up and down side to side and I get absolutely zero rattle creak or anything. Because its PB Swiss you will be able to get a new one sent for free. Send them an email and quote the number on the handle as well as the tiny little number on the shaft of the driver head. Let me know if they don't help you out mate.
$70 for a plastic screwdriver without a ratchet ? For that price Ill stay with my LTT screwdriver / Wera ratcheting T-handle with a bag of 60mm bits / Wera cyclops / foam insert full of Vessel Japaneses ratcheting screwdrivers / Vessel bit ratcheting screwdriver / Wiha centerlock screwdriver / Hazet bit screwdriver / foam insert full of Were screwdrivers ....... ah nvm, I'll probably buy it anyway like I always do after watching yet another tool review 😂
I feel you there. I agree the price is very high, as it is on most of PB Swiss stuff which is a bit of a shame as i love everything I've bought from them so far. I even like this one despite the fact it lacks the Swiss grip that I really like! I have used this one on many projects and it still feels like new, the bits are still looking new and the handle and action of the magazine still feel solid and firm. I just wish they would have a sale!
@@jeremynorth I must be a terrible reviewer. I still use this tool and it's still going strong. So as far as quality is concerned I'm still very happy with it. The bits have fared well with very little signs of wear. I just wish PB Swiss was cheaper. You have a great day mate and if you have any questions about the tool let me know.
These Hand Tool companies that make these intricate *All-in-Ones Screwdrivers* 🪛 NEED to better Design/Engineer their Bit-Carousel Caps to securely lock 🔓 and NOT 😤 open!
It's funny you should mention this. I was told this exact thing by a few people taking about a model from Wiha where the dam cap pushes open when in use. I think that's caused by the spring loaded nature of it's mechanism. On this model by PB it's not string loaded so I've not had about issues myself yet.
I order from Haus of Tools, DPRD, The Tool Lady & Amazon
Cheers for this, I've pinned your comment to help others. 👍
Got one for EDC in my daily carry and absolutely love finding excuses to use it. It's fantastic.

Just bought one of these based on this review. Very excited to build out my kit. Picked up a Stubby as well!

Ok thanks for this info. PB Swiss stuff is a pleasure to use AND SMELL! :-)
I got Purple as it was the cheapest on the day, it's a perfect EDC.
I do that with sneaker! I often reach for this for many jobs. All the bits ive used in this are still looking brand new so the quality is up there.
I bought a couple of these, solely to make my tool roll smell better. Just kidding, but they do make things smell better wherever you store them.

Please do a video on the other ratcheting driver in this video!
This would be great with a ratchet head
I have a ratchet PB swiss and its nice to use so i think you are right it would make it super handy for having.
Well, might as well say something.
And im very glad you did! In fact i might as well reply! Have a great day mate.
Yes, that's true, it get smell like vomit whit time.
Vanilla is definitely preferable! :-)
Why do you keep repeating yourself? This review could have been 5 minutes. Otherwise I like this tool
