Hey Everyone! What do you think of this Citizen Fugu? Also, if you haven't already, check out this Dual Crown Diver from Ball as well. Enjoy your weekend!

You mentioned lume in this, I agree that most don’t understand that the initial brightness doesn’t last but once your eyes adjust to darkness you’ll be able to see what you need to. I own a Sangin Atlas and I love everything about it. The movement, the lume, and the durability is bombproof. I just ordered the two tone metal bracelet version of the Fugu for Christmas and am really looking forward to it. It’ll be my “special occasion” type of watch. Thanks for your review! It was definitely helpful.
Just got one from a citizen outlet for $216! Cant beat that plus the 5 year warranty
I've owned the version of this watch with the fully lumed dial for about a year and a half. The black case coating has held up extremely well so far. Not a single mark or scratch. I wear it more as a daily; no diving or harsh treatment, so your mileage may vary.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, as far as Fugu models go, I think the oxygen tank boxes are now reserved for limited editions. I believe "standard" Fugus get a standard box now. I could be wrong about this.
Thanks for your feedback!
If so that is a shame as the promaster diver’s tanks are quite fun
Very nice watch imho. I recently purchased the black case and bezel w/ green dial of this model 👍
I picked up a bumblebee version for $325. Changed the strap to leather and wear it as a daily. Prefer Citizen over Seiko.
Just curious why do you prefer citizen over seiko?
@@Aottmusic I actually prefer the look of most Seiko watches, but I find the Citizen watches to be more accurate. Additionally, and this is just personal preference, I absolutely cannot stand the "wave bump" on the back of many Seiko watches. It's feels like someone glued a penny to the back of the watch, and it's uncomfortable for me.
I just bought the same model and color for $160 on eBay refurbished but it came new with tags. She s a beauty… maybe I will later swap the rubber band with a beads of rice dark stainless steel bracelet.
Great price!
these all dropped to around $200 in the UK on sale, a more realistic price.. I purchased a few in different colour ways.
I have the Batman version! I have quite a few Seikos, and this one is as good as all and better than most. Currently my EDC watch, wearing it on a rubber strap. Great bang for the buck !
Thanks for sharing
Fugu by citizen or seiko?? Which one should i buy..
What’s the difference in movements??? Does it boil down to just the accuracy?? How are movements judged??? Accuracy? Durability? Longevity?? I’m curious I’m getting into watches and I have been leaning toward this fugu with rubber. Right now 329$ on Amazon
Yes a lot of different factors when it comes to movements. There are quite a lot of articles you can read online about movements, but yes, accuracy, durability, ease of repair, shock resistance, beats per second, the smoothness of the sweep etc. in a watch such as this, it’s a common, base movement, but one that should hold up very well over time.
I was considering biting the bullet and buy a king turtle for my next watch, since I like the turtle but love sapphire crystal. This will be my next purchase.
Thanks for the review, will this work on a 6.5 inch wrist? My ny0040 which is the original 42mm model works well for me but I am considering adding this one to my collection.
Sorry late to reply. Only you can really answer that. If you like larger watches, then I’m sure it will be fine on your wrist.
Air tank. not oxygen tank! U have the Aqualand JP2000, this is too similar. I applied a round screen protector on the mineral glass.
K. 👍
I always am reluctant to pick up any sort of coated watch. It looks really nice, though. I'm also curious how these will hold up. Seems like one good scratch would ruin the effect - I don't mind a scratch on steel - but a light mark through a dark finish sounds like the worst.
It all depends on what this watch is for you and who is buying. If you buy as a beater or to take diving, I doubt you’ll care about the finish. If you buy it as a daily, then you’d want it to hold up fairly well.
Bôk, the discount code didn’t work but I’m late to the party. They have two blk/green dial NY0155-07X and blk/lume dial “-58X.
Thanks anyway… I’m holding out for the Fujitsubo.
Where can I find a matching bracelet for this if I decide to switch up? Thanks
I would check with citizen. Look on their website. Probably will be pricey but then get the model number for it and search online for a better price.
Hi just got mine this week, speeds up about 3 - 5 secs a day. Is that normal? Love the watch
Yes. This movement is rated at minus 20 to +40 seconds a day. So yours is on the low end at only gaining 3-5 seconds per day.
If you end up noticing it starts gaining a lot of time, then it is magnetized, but generally these movements aren’t going to be the most accurate, like a top grade ETA or in house movement or COSC specs.
@@watchreport thanks for the reply how fast would it need to be running to be considered magnetised. Really new to automatics and how would I tell it magnetised?
You would notice it really gain time, like 30-seconds 40 seconds, and more and just keeps gaining. If it’s a minute; it’s magnetized.
Here’s a good article
www.gnomonwatches.com/blogs/news/how-to-demagnetize-watch#:~:text=How%20to%20tell%20if%20a,than%20one%20minute%20per%20day.
@@watchreport would that be 10 -15 seconds a day, is there a simple way to check if watch is magnetised?
Read the article I linked above, but I edited the post to say 30-40 seconds of more, apologies but I was typing with gloves on and messed up the reply. lol.
But first, you are fine. I think your watch is running just as it should.
Nothing to worry about at all.
But you can put it near a compass and if the needle moves, it’s magnetized.
All good things to know, but I think your watch is safe. It’s pretty easy to know it’s magnetized as you’ll see it gaining crazy time and running erratic.
In the meantime, google up automatic watches, how they work, how they are regulated, how the rotor and mainspring work, winding it, set and shake, different types and grades of movements. Learning new things is fun, especially when it’s something you are into.
Enjoy your citizen and have a great day, and make sure to check out some of our other review videos as we have some amazing automatic watches on the channel.
😎👍
What if I got it for $257 from macys. Do u think it’s a good deal
Yes 👍
I looked at 4 of these the other day at Kay jewelers..i really like them..my entire watch collection is 97%dive watches..i had my eye on the fully lumed dial.but when the lady said 630 dollars plus 15%off i was like whoa..the 2 tone one is Alittle too blingy looking for me and the blue dial rubber strap one seems to be my 2 contenders. They also had a green dial one but that one did not appeal to me..i thought i should do a little research on them before I pull the trigger on a 500 dollar plus citizen diver so here i am watching and Learning.all my citizen s are divers except one and that is the pro master tough with the titanium coating which is a awesome watch..and I have to say all the citizen divers I do have are half the price of tvese3 new fugus..they are quartz of course and are pretty darn accurate. And i know if I don't get the one I really want and purchase a different fugu because of cost I eventually will end up not liking it and ultimately end up with 2 fugus because the fully lumed dial is the one I really want. Maybe I should wait a couple years and see where the prices are then.
I can get a NY0155-58X on bracelet for around $400 if you’re interested?
*In the states*
Just got this for $135USD brand new.. pretty happy.
I didn't no about the puffer fish on the dial. Until the kids started whining. It looked like just something to make it more interesting than just flat dial.
Any idea why my date abbreviation is in Spanish?
Most date wheels have dual languages. Pull out the crown to first position and move crown to adjust day wheel to English.
ebay ~$240 delivered
Tough watch well built
The buckle looks cheap
Agreed. That’s usually the case with the inexpensive seiko and citizens.
@@watchreport 🙋🇩🇪
The HANDS are UGLY on the Promaster automatic divers.
They make the WHOLE WATCH look CHEAP
they look made out of TIN.
they SHOULD'VE used BATON or dagger hands.
Plus the Citizen logo looks CHEAP.
I love Citizen watches but, the CITIZEN LOGO looks Cheap, Generic. I think their watches would fare better with just the PROMASTER LOGO alone
Great watch, but the video is a bit of a yawnathon.....zzz. Far too much waffle for me.
