I was at the ballpark Thursday evening. Attempted to call out my grandsons name, and suddenly had a broken voice. No prior symptoms. It was 78 degrees out, and there was a light mist that evening with 14 - 16 mph winds out of the east. I believe it was something in the mist and winds. Two nights later and I’m unable to speak. 😮
@@fettiiiosama yes bro I definitely had laryngitis caused by allergies. I was taking excessive allergy medicine which dried me out. I switched to Flonase Spray and it has completely gotten rid of my allergies. I am paranoid of it coming back again though. I’ve had 3 laryngitis flare ups now which all last about a week long. Definitely rest your vocal cords, drink lots of water and Hot Tea. “Medicine Ball” From Starbucks also helps a ton. Good luck bro
Yep, just diagnosed with acute laryngitis today. Also have had a fever and some body aches for the past few days. I’m stunned at how badly this has knocked me on my ass.
I have laryngitis at the moment, didn't know it could be this painful tho, my doctor prescribed antibiotics and recommended that I don't speak for a few days. But the pain at the back of my throat is unbearable 😮💨
I recently noticed that whenever I study and recap what I learned even in low voice, I feel pain and loss of voice after 4 mins, I don't speak a lot and It is happening everyday now. However I have a history of gastrosis so maybe this is the main reason
I'm 62 years old, but as a child, I recall when a temporary onset of laryngitis was quite common. It had nothing to do with smoking, singing, nor screaming loudly at sports events or concerts. There was no associated pain, eg, a sore throat; nor did it have to do with, congestion, a cold, flu or fever. You'd simply awaken one morning and could only speak in a whisper for a day or two when it suddenly disappeared. I haven't seen this happen to anyone in the last 50 years or so. Wth?
Temporary laryngitis in children, unrelated to illness or strain, could be due to viral infections or mild irritants, which may now be less common due to improved health and environmental conditions. ❤️
I have had this horrible pain for over 2 weeks now and it's only getting worse. I am a singer and i'm so worried I'll never be able to sing again. Update it’s 4 weeks and worse now. Feeling hopeless
I have the same situation. I keep thinking my voice will not recover. It’s been almost a month and now my voice cracks whenever I try to sing. So frustrating!
Mine is getting worse too… I’m literally in tears as I write this I have tried everything my strep test came back negative so they won’t treat me with anything I really don’t know what to do.
I used to have episodes if laryngitis as a kid (between 4-6 years old) and its pretty horrible, cant talk, breathings impossible, and constantly coughing, my father told me that i had one such serious case where i couldnt even breathe (i actually remember it but i only remember that my kindergarten fellow bit me and then i woke up in the car) and some medical student was trying to put a needle in my hand, but took him enough and i was not having it. Later i was in the bed and right away i went to sleep. In about a week i went out good as new. Now idk why i had it so much but my father also had episodes where his neck membranes constantly swelled and had to have it removed. Genetics.
I currently have acute laryngitis (hopefully) and i can barely even speak it sucks and my throat hurts it was probably caused by a combination of yelling and bacterial infection.
Since 4 days, I have unbearable sore throat. I am not quite sure if it is laryngitis, but every time I swallow I constrict. It is not like a normal sore throat, were you swallow and it burns a bit. This is intense pain, and it feels like a wound. Are this the symptons of Laryngitis?
I've had acute bronchitis 4 weeks ago with COPD and diverticulitis all with Amoxicillin antibiotics but i was at the back end of it all today but the cold weather outside TRULY irritates my entire throat down to my chest and my voice goes instantly croaky like Deidre Barlow and Dalek like BUT if i wear a cotton face mask JUST ACROSS MY MOUTH only my throat and voice and chest start to heal rapidly so that's a mystery. However, this afternoon I started singing to my dog and 10 minutes later my throat at the back of my mouth is MEGA sore and especially my vocal chords and it's like my vocal chords are on fire and very tender and pulsating. Could this be laryngitis on top of everything else ? I only get this issue in Winter. 2nd time for bronchitis and COPD 2019 and 2023.
