This video was so helpful. Straight to the point. I didn't find the tabs to realese the lock mechanism. Had to just pull hard. Did pull the plug out with it. Thank you so much.
Great video. Many thanks. Worth taking the motor out before removing the glass/panel to see if the gear has broken on the back, which seems to be a common problem.
I tried taking the lock and the door handle out still couldn’t get the panel off found your video followed good clear instructions got the job done nice one mate 👌
Thanks for the video replaced my driver's side regulator fairly straight forward with this. The only annoying thing is the clips that hold the door card on break easily, they're only really good for single use
Thanks very much for this. Managed to sort mine today by following this but took me much longer! 🤣 Good thing it was sunny. Only other issue I had was the replacement motor which I got (as a pack with regulator) didn't have a harness plug connector for the window switch, just 2 wires. Luckily my original motor is fine but ended up paying quite a bit more for a motor I didn't end up using.
Thanks for great video. Just done passenger side with part from yourself and help of this video. Surprised how cable was all rusted! Noticed drivers side going same way so just about to order for that ! 👍
Cheers, I've just spent a couple of hours trying to work it out. I needed to remove the window glass. Not sure the cars worth spending any money on. but at least I know how to fix it when this shitty Covid-19 does one.
Changed the mechanism per instructions on your video (thanks great help) however when the button is pressed to put the window fully open or closed it makes a noise like the motor still wants to carry on going, also changed the motor but same thing happening, tried unplugging battery etc to reset but nothing helping.........any advice ?
I don’t need to replace the regulator but the glass. I can’t find a tutorial on that but I’m thinking I should be able to get most of the information from here.
Eh I broke the coil for the door lock on both sides. It's that mandatory and or fixable? I couldn't find the clip so pushed hard. And it broke both times. Going to reassemble now.
Hi i cant find anywhere online, but if you have manual windows, i presume its just exactly the same but without the motor ( and the same regulator for both manual and electric ) thanks and great video
I dont have a problem with my regulator but I'm trying to remove the panel to get access from the inside to fix the dent on my door. Do I have to remove the window glass b4 I can remove the panel?
Sorry to bother you but I am trying to diagnose my problem, I press the window button but it just makes a noise and no movement, I can push window up and down with hand, do you thing it it just a damaged motor cog and replacing the motor would solve?
Hi, from what you are describing it sounds like the window regulator cable has snapped (a very common issue). Presuming this is the problem, you would need a new window regulator to fix the problem.
Hi, what symptoms would require you to do this? My NS window won't open, I don't hear any strains or clicks from the motor when operating the button, could it be a blown motor because of this problem?
If you can't hear any noise then it could be the motor that has stopped working, or it could also be the regulator that has broken and the cables have become tangled, stopping the motor from moving.
Ideally they need to be intact, but it shouldn't affect the operation of the lock itself, as it is bolted to the door. You may find that the plastic rattles against the inner door panel though.
@@SelectVehicleSpares thanks for the reply. I will just have to be extra careful when doing it. If I do break them I will just put some foam between to lock and panel so it doesn't rattle. Cheers 👍
Cannot source a used manual 3 door OSF regulator!!! Can I use the electric reg and change the spiggot for where the electric motor would be???? Anyone know
Hi Theo, I called the company and they said you should be able to push it in without breaking it, the glass is very strong. You only need to make sure you support the white fitting points with your hand.
The window slides back in to the tabs until they are relocated in to the holes. There are no tools need for this part, just support the tabs with your hand while pushing the glass back in to place.
Need help, I got a new repair kit but only had the cables, tried to pause the video and follow the pattern which was fine but there’s slack on the cables? And the motor has to take the up before the window moves so there’s a delay, but the window clips aren’t even so the window won’t slot in at all😩
We don't have a video specifically for the lock, but once you get to around the 5:15 mark in the video, you'll have access to the door lock, the screws to remove it are on the rear edge of the door. It sounds like the micro-switch inside the lock may be faulty, which would ideally require a new lock.
I've just tried to do my drivers side & the window is jammed in the up position , it crunches when I press the button & im only able to get it down about 2 inches so can't get it down to the access holes?? Any ideas please
Try removing the window motor from the inner door panel, this may help to free off the cables if they have become wound around the spool that the motor attaches to.
I can't do that unfortunately as I had the same side window mechanism replaced by a garage just under 4 years ago & they have attached the screws from the other side so all I can see is the threads of the screws 🙈😡 the only thing I think i can do is is either drill the screws out or smash the glass ??
MY Window has dropped (not broken) I can't move the glass by hand after I took the first panel off to get to the second door cover. The switch stopped working to make matters worse and now I don't know what to do ... The switch only made the window come down a few inches and just pushed it back up again .... and now it's stuck open and inside the door
Plug for the door lock.. small red tab came completely away. Plug won't come off.. looks like I'm swapping it while it's hanging from the plug at the lock. 😢

EXCELLENT!! Don't bother with other vids, this is correct method. The magic clip on door lock! And DON'T unscrew the door latch. Awesome mate, cheers.

Thanks for making the video , simple and precise instructions without the need to take door lock off 👍
Followed step by step and now have a working window again.
Great video thanks mate 👍
Awesome tutorial 👌 took me 2 hours but got there in the end cheers
I cannot thank you enough for this video ! Great job, very clear and helpful.
This video saved me from a nightmare after the wires on the old regulator 💩 themself and I had to replace it. Good video! 👍
Followed your video today to fix my window. Alls good and working great so thanks. Very well put and simple to understand 👍👍

Hi when do you put the window back in .do the glass just drop in the clips thanks
Yes that is correct, the clips should locate in to the hole in the glass.
Perfect!!! Thank you !!
Great help thanks mate
Great video. Many thanks
Hi i cant find anywhere online, but if you have manual windows, i presume its just exactly the same but without the motor ( and the same regulator for both manual and electric ) thanks and great video
The process is almost identical yet. The regulator is slightly different, but the mounting points are in the same place.
@@SelectVehicleSpares thanks for the info guys! btw best video on youtube for this, very clear and straight to the point
thanks for the tips
Thanks alot mate
Great video. Is the process pretty much the same for "wind up / wind down" windows aside from the obvious differences (motor and wiring) ? 🤔
Yes, the mounting points etc are all in the same place.
@@SelectVehicleSpares Cheers for that! 👍

@@xmoodymattiex Let us know how you get on!
Select Vehicle Spares it was the plastic cog on the Motor that had sheared, replaced and all working fine now, thanks for the reply’s
I know this video is old but was the part used from fords or an aftermarket one?
The replacement regulator was an aftermarket part.

Brilliant 👍🏼
Hi, good Video, i have the three door manual regulator do you know where i can purchase one all i seem to find are electrik ones, thanks.
What the screw size for the motor please
4 X T25 TORX
What happens if the plastic clips on the door lock snap, will it go back together alright or are they really important? Cheers
Ideally they need to be intact, but it shouldn't affect the operation of the lock itself, as it is bolted to the door. You may find that the plastic rattles against the inner door panel though.

What length are the T25 torx screws for the window motor
According to the Ford parts catalogue they have a 25mm length thread.
@@SelectVehicleSpares thank you
When replacing the glass, should it easily slot into the new regulator? I’m awaiting the part, but worry about replacing the glass
Hi Theo,
I called the company and they said you should be able to push it in without breaking it, the glass is very strong. You only need to make sure you support the white fitting points with your hand.
How do I know what regulator to buy online?
How do you do the window?
Sorry I don't understand, could you explain further?
Select Vehicle Spares after you hit out the plastic tabs, how would you put the window back in?
The window slides back in to the tabs until they are relocated in to the holes. There are no tools need for this part, just support the tabs with your hand while pushing the glass back in to place.

Grazie!!!
How long does it take to complete the full job mate?
It depends how fast you work an how competent you are, but you should be able to do it within 30 minutes.
Using this video as I'm trying to replace the door.lock sensor as it constantly says door isn't shut and won't lock. Any help much appreciated 😃

@@SelectVehicleSpares Is it just the Motor dying if window is sticking often, but still going up n down?
@@TONE11111 Yes, it could be the motor is weak. Or it could be the cables are starting to fray and are making the regulator stick.
