I swear, the intro animation for this opening is as iconic as it gets. It's brutally well done, with a perfect circular perspective to complement that goofy art style.

honestly a round of applause for soul eater having a strong female lead character who actually has a personality and isn't used as a plot piece/for romance. i can name so few animes with that aspect
I also really like how her facial expressions don’t stay static Anime tends to keep their female characters looking cute all the time but here it really looks like she’s putting in the effort to cut you in half
I would just like to gush over how much effort goes into the animation for dynamic camera work for an opening alone. I cannot even begin to imagine how much work work went into doing all this constant panning and tracking, it's genuinely amazing. This is one of the highest effort openings I've ever watched and to this day almost nothing has ever managed to top it

Agreed, I feel they did that really good. Their moments and the way they look at each other or just know what they are thinking by looking at each other. Willing to die to protect each other, I always got soulmate vibes from them. They have so many moments showcasing their amazing compatibility, definitely my favorite pairing by miles. Fun fact, this opening was solo animated by Yasuhiro Irie, who's the director of FMAB. He also did image board on Cowboy Bebop ep 20 Mad Pierrot, giving us this unique creepy atmosphere with attraction park and all. This Soul Eater OP1 is quite the prowess, not only because of the so cool storyboard and character acting, but this endless background animation and breathtaking perspectives is something that even great animators find amazingly hard to draw in such a consistent way. The music being so good too, it's one of my favorite opening so I wanted to give credit to the man who made it. Ty for reading!

Me and my step cousins would do that too. Soul Eater was the only anime that they got into but it was a lot of fun. We would also pretend to be the characters and fight each other. Was pretty great ngl 👌
With a remade ending because the nearing the end of the manga's story and its ending was done so poorly. A lot worse than the anime ending. 😑 it was so dissapointing. You can tell the mangaka didn't give a fuck at that point

Agreed, I feel they did that really good. Their moments and the way they look at each other or just know what they are thinking by looking at each other. Willing to die to protect each other, I always got soulmate vibes from them. They have so many moments showcasing their amazing compatibility, definitely my favorite pairing by miles. NightStars , yes, there are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO little episodes, and I only found out about this a few days ago, and it is my new obsession, it is so amazing!!!!!!!
Fun fact, this opening was solo animated by Yasuhiro Irie, who's the director of FMAB. He also did image board on Cowboy Bebop ep 20 Mad Pierrot, giving us this unique creepy atmosphere with attraction park and all.
This Soul Eater OP1 is quite the prowess, not only because of the so cool storyboard and character acting, but this endless background animation and breathtaking perspectives is something that even great animators find amazingly hard to draw in such a consistent way.
The music being so good too, it's one of my favorite opening so I wanted to give credit to the man who made it. Ty for reading!

@@angelkade jeez, I'm curious how long that took. That's amazing. I first watched the show when I was 12 I think, and it was one of my first anime. This intro blew my mind back then, and still does to this day. Soul Eater is one of those shows that inspired me to get into animation.
Soul eater is one of those animes that are just impossible to forget because of their unforgettable artstyle and ofcourse, story too.

With a remade ending because the nearing the end of the manga's story and its ending was done so poorly. A lot worse than the anime ending. 😑 it was so dissapointing. You can tell the mangaka didn't give a fuck at that point
