It’s because the chord change. Even if you’ve never noticed it before, the chords enhance that part of the melody a lot. The chord change adds a twist to it that makes it pop out and stand out from the rest of the chorus, making it sound more epic and making the melody sound better harmonically with the rest of the song general.

I was 14 when i started watching Soul Eater. Now i'm 26. I almost cried when i rediscovered this intro. So many fond memories watching this on Animax when i was little before i even had internet or a pc....Time flies so fast.

This song is great, not only because of the anime that it is amazing in its own league.
But because it fills you up with nostalgia, the alternative rock era, some animes that should be considered classic.
And speaking of classic, I see many people said this already, but it is a big SHAME this opening is not top tier of classic anime openings, it just gets better with time.

The "See you in your dreams yea, baby" and "Here i am, forever with your soul" parts are so good.
Here to say that Soul Eater was an EXPERIENCE. Nothing like this was done at the time, having spooky aesthetics while carrying a comedic shounen was revolutionary. You can say Bleach did the same but it took itself too seriously!
Soul Eater and Eureka 7 are 2 of my favorite shonen to date, the worlds and cast are just so distinct and expansive

I really like the story too, but yeah the OST carries it. Its still the best OST in all of anime for me
this is deadass one of the coolest ideas for any anime ever it is such a sick idea of weapons and meisters. Not only was te idea for it good, they basically nailed the characters and the plot and the enemies and everything. Actually adore this show.
