Felt obligated to do something like this after thinking about the other halo video I made. Definitely sounded like I didn't like the series in that video but I was more complaining about the direction shooters took after halo, which isn't really halos fault and you couldn't necessarily prove halo not existing would make those annoying trends not exist etc. Just kind of misguided screaming at clouds, but it was something on my mind at the time. Kind of like how people complain about RE4 ruining the resident evil series, it's not true, the devs could have just not made the bolder punch happen.
Anyway, hopefully Halo Infinite is good, definitely looks like it could be. Let the record show that I was cautiously optimistic for it when everyone else was making fun of how the brute looked last year. I do not think that brute looked good either though, looked way too much like a bald gorilla and not enough like a monster man.

I have a completely different opinion on almost all the stuff shown in this video (and I don't mean that in a "my opinion matters yours doesn't" kinda way), and this video didn't come across as preachy or annoying in any way, shape or form, it was honestly a really enjoyable video to watch. Great job writing wise and editing wise man, kept my attention the whole way through.
Ngl I don’t really care about Halo but this kept my attention the whole time. As usual amazing editing, keep it up. Also the dark souls 2 bit might be some of the best comedic timing I’ve seen on UA-cam.

I had a similar feeling to you. Played reach first but just don't like the game. Played Halo 1 and got the appeal but also feel like the game didn't aged well (mostly because of copy pasted sections and hunters without magnum). Played 2 and was like "why am I only using plasma rifle and that alien sniper?". Fun stuff got easily ruined by some small bullshit.
Then played 3 and it was like the best FPS I've ever played.

okay so the deployable cover in Halo 3 is actually rad for two reasons.
- It blocks damage from the front but you can shoot bullets through the back meaning you can take cover whilst dropping some grunts and thinning the herd of enemies, it has utility over the bubble shield in that way.
- If you stand inside it in a precise way it yeets you accross the level like a slingshot
launching yourself sounds funny but the deploy-able cover having really limited health makes me scrunch up my face and blow spit bubbles any time I pick one up.
@@foulenergy the best place to use it is on the second level where the drones fly out of the pipe, if you place a cover in front of a turret and shoot through it you can mow down the buggers without taking a hit and it's seriously satisfying

That point about a rebalanced difficulty option is the best idea I've heard in a Long time.
That's what mods are for. Ruby's Rebalanced, Halo 3 ODST d6efinitive edition and Halo 4 Reflow. They rebalance the game pretty well (Especially Halo 4 Reflow)
@@REALMARCHINADER I agree. Only problem is, console doesn't support mods. So we either need a difficulty adjusted option, or the ability to port in our own mods.

There's a funny interview somewhere where one of the people that worked on Halo mentions seeing a speedrun of the game, and when they saw some of the levels they were like "Holy shit, we didn't know when to stop..." They copy+pasted a lot of parts in stages and also didn't really know how to trim down their stages to be more fun; basically doing very minimal playtesting on the levels beyond trying to meet a "playtime quota". They didn't have time to do any more than that!

I actually thought Halo 5 addressed the Prometheans by giving them more of an identity.
For weapons: boltshot and suppressor have homing shots to compensate for mediocre damage, the light rifle is now a psuedo-power weapon like the CE Plasma Rifle with a more reasonable ammo economy, the scattershot has ricochet and post-ricochet homing rounds, the binary rifle is a bit like the focus rifle but with short bursts seen as single ammo charges, the incineration cannon is mostly the same but I regarded that as halo 4's most interesting promee gun anyway, and the promee grenades are really good, immediately exploding on impact with a shrapnel field which does immediate and lethal damage which also can stick around and act as area denial.
I'm not sure how to feel about the "armor" system for the new promee officers, its a form of headshot protection like shields but doesn't regenerate and is not vulnerable to plasma damage. Knights have been buffed but now act as a miniboss enemy like hunters, with a similar take on armor and weak points to remove said armor that exposes its backside to weapons damage and beat downs / assassinations. Warden eternal continues the trend of bad halo bosses, this time by copying destiny's style of big-bad who brutally punishes you for trying get close to it and is also reused ad absurdium and acts as a bad punchline for most combat gauntlets.
TL:DR - Halo 5 is a cool game, mostly.
while I...can't say I agree with everything here, as well as a few nagging details and things you might have missed, I will say that this is a criminally underrated and extremely well edited and funny ass video, keep this up and the UA-cam Algorithm is sure to bless you, well done.
I would also like to note that Halo's 1 and 2 were made on *absolute nightmare crunches,* seriously, the fact that these games were even made at all is nothing short of a miracle, it's straight up black magic that they ended up as good as they were, I don't know if you've seen it yet, but this guy does a great job showing how much of an agonizing development cycle the first game went through, I'd definitely recommend hitting it up! ua-cam.com/video/hwEYp8ZY3ak/v-deo.html

I think CE has aged like a fine wine. It's a little clunky yes but otherwise it's one of my favorite Halos and games of all time. Multiplayer is so damn good and only Halo 3 tops that.
I agree that Chief is little weak in Halo 2 but I actually like the challenge. You have to be careful and I like the fact you can't just rush on enemies. Also the shield system was so damn good. It's so much better to seek for a cover, recharge and you're good to go again than to seek for health packs all the time.

First review I feel like gave a honest review of the Halo Games.
If I recall right the reason why equipment was downgraded from Halo 3 to Reach is because a very vocal minority hated the equipment and dual wielding. This is also what my Half Brother's Uncle told me who worked on Halo 2 through 4 (Including Reach)
From what I've heard, dual wielding was a pretty controversial design decision within Bungie, with some devs loving it, and others hating the mechanic. After ODST came out, and it was removed, they figured on just sticking with it being gone for Reach. There are some fans that dislike the mechanic too, but I've only seen them become more vocal about that over the last couple of years.
not saying the halo CE magnum outclassed every other weapon is fine. saying the fucking plasma rifle does instead is heretical and i cant watch this video without feeling unbridled rage and fury i will be gang stalking you after this video finishes

Ive watched alot of "the entire halo series" type videos over the years and this is the best one. I thought i was going crazy when i played halo 2 and wasn't very impressed plus felt like they neutered master chief like wasnt i just running guys down in the first game?

Engineer, mostly, setting up nests and teleporting your team to the front lines is a really unique playstyle that's only in TF2 as far as I'm aware.

keep in mind the mcc is a VERy buggy mess and all of the games featured in the collection all have a myriad of glitches and bugs ranging from audio issues to AI downgrades
also most of the issues you had with halo 2 were only present in the human levels (only like 2) i think you should give halo 2 more credit
What AI issues did MCC introduce that the OG games didn't have?
I wondered about the AI stuff, on "cortana" the big circular room with the giant pit underneath seems to have some kind of scripting problem with the flood lobsters. A lot of enemies just kind of sat around.
I definitely enjoyed the arbiter's levels more in halo 2, but they still feel lame to me compared to every other game in the series.
@@foulenergy odd since when halo 2 does give you engagement freedom it does it as good as 3 and ce though the hold out portions of the game are rightfully tedious, it is also by far the minority design of the campaign. but the implications that halo 4 would be a side grade to reach therefore better then 2 and ce is just *wrong*
